Malik Pimpong: Who is Eintracht Frankfurt's exciting Danish forward?
Eintracht Frankfurt have picked up a star of the future in prolific Danish striker Malik Pimpong. Here is everything you need to know about the 18-year-old...
Stats correct as of 30 June 2026
Malik Pimpong
Age: 18 (born 1 January 2008)
Club: Eintracht Frankfurt
Position: Left winger
Country: Denmark (24 youth caps, 12 goals)
Key stats
While Pimpong is yet to play senior football, he has been in electric form for Midtjylland's U19s ever since he made his debut during the 2024/25 campaign. He found the back of the net six times in 15 appearances that season, even scoring in the UEFA Youth League, before scoring 24 times in 30 matches across all competitions in 2025/26.
Although his side were unable to qualify for the group stage of that year's Youth League, he did score against Cologne in the second round of qualifying.
Pimpong's club form has translated onto the youth international stage. Six strikes in 13 U17 caps were followed by four in eight for the U18s. Now also at U19 level, he has two goals in three outings.
Plays a bit like: Hugo Ekitiké
Frankfurt have earned a reputation for moulding and polishing centre-forwards, one of which is Hugo Ekitiké. The Frenchman, who is now at Liverpool in England, should be an inspiration for Pimpong given their similar profiles.
Both stand at just over 6'3", have pace and an ability to hold the ball up well, while also having strong technique. If the Eagles' new man is able to replicate any of Ekitiké's form at Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt have another gem on their hands.
Did you know?
Pimpong's father, Razak Pimpong, is a former Ghana international. He represented the Black Stars on 10 occasions, three of which came at the FIFA World Cup 2006, while he spent the entirety of his club career in Denmark.
