One change for Elversberg

Visiting coach Horst Steffen makes one change to his starting lineup compared to the last match (a 3-0 defeat in the DFB-Pokal at Leverkusen): Frederik Schmahl starts in place of Arne Sicker (on the bench).

Regensburg with two changes

Jahn interim coach Andreas Patz makes two changes to his starting lineup compared to the last match (a 1-0 home victory against Fürth in the DFB-Pokal): Noah Ganaus and Elias Huth play in place of Eric Hottmann and Christian Kühlwetter (both absent from the squad).

Elversberg starting XI

Kristof - Neubauer, Rohr, Pinckert, Baum - Damar, Schmahl, Sickinger, Petkov - Asllani, Schnellbacher

Jahn starting XI

Gebhardt - Breunig, Bulic, Wurm - Hein, Geipl, Pröger - Ernst, Viet - Ganaus, Huth

Steffen's view on Regensburg

"We have developed a plan, a bit more on the pitch. I'm curious to see what Regensburg will do, because they have had a change of coach. Whether they will change something compared to the cup match, or whether the system will remain the same."

Patz's view on Elversberg

"With 16 points, they are in seventh place, which says it all. And we know who we're up against. They are an established second-division side with experienced players in their ranks, so we are well prepared. We need the same commitment and must display the same virtues as we did on Tuesday against Fürth [in the cup]. It's also important to be defensively solid and to work on creating moments when we have possession. I'm convinced that these will come because we've gained a bit more confidence with the win behind us."

Coach of coach at Regensburg

Jahn took action following their heavy 8-3 defeat against Nuremberg and relieved head coach Joe Enochs of his duties. Previous assistant coach Andreas Patz will take over the training until further notice and will be supported by Philipp Tschauner, Oliver Seitz and Christoph Rezler.

It's been a while

Regensburg haven't won at home against Elversberg for over 22 years. Since their 2-0 victory on 25 September 2002, Jahn have suffered two home defeats and most recently two draws.

Bundesliga 2 premiere

These two will meet for the first time in Bundesliga 2. The last time these sides met was in the 3. Liga in 2014. That match ended in a 0-0 draw.
