Richter denied
Another good chance for the hosts. After a brilliant low pass, Richter breaks through on the left and shoots with his left foot from a tight angle. Schulze manages to close his legs together and parries it out for a corner.

Severe setback
After two recent victories and a draw, Fürth are ending the year with a heavy defeat. Nevertheless, the Cloverleaves still maintain a decent gap over the relegation places.

An historic Hamburg victory
Hamburg have only won by a higher margin than 5-0 once in their Bundesliga 2 history, when they won 6-1 against Hannover on 8 April 2023. In addition, they claimed a 5-0 home victory against Regensburg on Matchday 5 this season.

Opening his Hamburg account
The 17-year-old substitute Otto Stange scored his first professional goal (in his fourth match) with his first touch of the ball in this game.
76'
Stange makes it five
Otto Stange has just come on for Selke, and he immediately follows up on the top striker's performance. Anssi Suhonen somehow stumbles the ball into the penalty area, where the 17-year-old Stange grabs the ball and smashes it into the left corner from a tight angle.

Massimo misses
Jean-Luc Dompé unintentionally makes a seemingly cleared ball dangerous again after a Fürth corner. The striker attempts to clear the ball outside the penalty area with an overhead kick, but instead plays it to his own six-yard box. Massimo is there but appears to be taken by surprise and fails to head it in from five metres out.

Double digits for Selke
Davie Selke increased his goal tally for the season to ten with his second brace of 2024/25 (also against Elversberg); the last time he scored this many in a season was in 2017/18 for Hertha.

What a save!
A great reflex save from Heuer Fernandes. After a corner from the left, Asta heads the ball from five metres out - it flies straight at Heuer Fernandes, who puts his head in the line of fire and deflects the ball over the crossbar. However, he appears to be slightly shaken up afterwards.

Another chance
A beautiful cross gets played in from the right. Selke heads the ball back to Karabec, who takes it down and shoots from 12 metres out, but straight into the hands of Schulze.

Selke gets his brace
Davie Selke strikes again, scoring his tenth goal of the season. Sahiti brilliantly chips the ball over two Fürth players on the right and into the path of Mikelbrencis. He delivers a low cross into the middle, and although it misses a Hamburg player at the near post, Selke is completely unmarked at the far post and only needs to tap it into the empty net.

Hamburg demand a penalty
Fürth's Jung goes to ground in his own penalty area, tucking in his left arm for support and briefly touching the ball. The Hamburg players want a penalty, but referee Timo Gerach immediately waves the claims away.

Strong performance from the hosts
The home side have had five shots on goal (two for Fürth) and have a greater xGoals value (0.9 to 0.1 of Fürth). The extremely effective Hamburg side's fast start ensured a comfortable 3-0 lead. A significant improvement from their last match in Ulm, where the Rothosen didn't register a single shot on goal in the first half.

Half-time: Hamburg 3-0 Fürth
Hamburg got off to a sensational start when Hadžikadunić scored from a corner in the first minute to make it 1-0. Two quick goals in the 11th and 13th minutes from Selke and Karabec added to the hosts' comfortable lead. The match has been balanced since then, with both teams playing offensively without creating any big chances.

Big chance for the Cloverleaves!
A lovely curled pass from the right comes into the penalty area. Two Hamburg players misjudge it, then Futkeu has the ball at the penalty spot. He waits too long to take his shot, which allows a Hamburg player to intervene and nick the ball away from him.

Chance missed

Jan Siewert on facing Hamburg
"We're expecting another top match against HSV. Hamburg are a good team with a lot of offensive power. We will also have our chances to do something in Hamburg. We can never guarantee what the end result will be. But I expect us to lead the way again with our style, readiness and willingness until the end. This is the standard we set for ourselves."

"We want to send the fans into the winter break with a good feeling and we will give everything to complete the match with a good performance. We want to show the potential that lies within the team."
