New Striker
Elversberg's squad will see an addition in January 2025: Younes Ebnoutalib. The 21-year-old centre-forward, who can also play on the left wing, has been playing for FC Gießen in the Regionalliga Südwest. He will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with Kaiserlinde that will run through to summer 2028.

"It will be an exciting game. Of course, we want it to be a nice farewell to the year - we want to play a good match in front of our home crowd and in a great atmosphere to keep the points at home. We're facing a very good opponent. Schalke are currently working very hard. They have good routines both in defence and attack, with plenty of pace in their game."

Maurice Neubauer was German champion with Schalke's U19 team in 2015, and he was on the pitch during their final 3-1 victory against Julian Nagelsmann's Hoffenheim side.

After two official matches - a 2-1 win and a 1-1 draw in Bundesliga 2 last season - Elversberg are yet to fall behind against Schalke.
