Half-time in Hannover

On the difficult playing surface, both teams are showing a decent performance. Hannover is the dominant side, but Münster keeps posing dangerous threats going forward, as seen with their opening goal. The Lower Saxony team came back after conceding through Tresoldi's goal and will likely push for a home win in the second half.

Breitenreiter makes triple change

Compared to the successful start of the year in Regensburg, the 96 coach changes his starting eleven in three positions. Nominally, it looks a bit more defensive, as alongside striker Tresoldi, two defensive players, Tomiak and Kunze, come in, while two offensive players, Lee and Nielsen, have to make way (+ Christiansen).

Kinsombi starts

The veteran made his Preußen debut as a substitute against Fürth and is now in the starting lineup for the first time. He replaces Amenyido in the team. In the first half of the season, Kinsombi was still with Paderborn when they won 2-1 against Hannover.

Frenkert missing

The defender had been in Münster's starting lineup for the first 18 matchdays, but today he must sit out for the first time due to suspension. He is replaced by Koulis, who was suspended last week.

Münster starting XI

Schenk - Scherder, Paetow, Koulis - Ter Horst, Hendrix, Mees, Kirkeskov - Kinsombi, Makridis - Németh

Hannover starting XI

Zieler - Neumann, Tomiak, Halstenberg - Muroya, Leopold, Kunze, Wdowik - Rochelt - Tresoldi, Ngankam

Andre Breitenreiter on facing Münster

"Münster is a club that has developed steadily over many years - and has picked up points in recent away matches against all promotion candidates. They concede few goals. We need to find the right solutions to press this opponent without naively falling into their trap."

Sascha Hildmann on facing Hannover

"We have prepared for Hannover, the strongest team in the league on home turf. The change of manager underlines their ambitions. We are well prepared and know what to expect. In Hannover, we will need incredible mentality and strength in the challenge to hold our own there. We want to put on a good display, and once again play bravely and aggressively."

Home strength

Hannover have won their last four home matches against Münster and are unbeaten in six home games against the Eagles. Münster's last away victory at Maschsee dates back to April 1977 (1-0 through a goal by Karl Heinz Krekeler, with players such as Frank Pagelsdorf for Hannover and Benno Möhlmann for Münster on the pitch).

It's been a while

Because the two teams had nothing to do with each other for 30 years until the current season, Münster's last victory against Hannover dates back quite a while. In April 1979, Preußen celebrated a 2-1 home win in the Bundesliga Nord under coach Werner Biskup (who later also coached Hannover).

Good omen for the 96ers

Hannover are unbeaten in ten competitive matches against Münster (seven wins, three draws) and have won six of the last seven fixtures against them.
