Full-time: Lautern 2-1 Münster

The home side can truly celebrate thanks to Sirch. It's a late, well-deserved home win for the Red Devils, who had to give their all until the final minute against the battling Prussians.

Corner for Münster

Time is running out for the visitors, of course. There's one more corner from Lorenz. His corner kick reaches Hendrix. However, the Münster captain's volley goes wide.

Lautern snatch it!

Just before the final whistle, the home side counter-attack once more: And as in the first half, Sirch pushes forward and is perfectly set up by Alidou at the edge of the penalty area. Behrens is powerless against the shot into the near corner.

Masters of Pressure

Preußen's period of intense pressure has brought about the equaliser - but one player is defying the numerous challenges: Leon Robinson. The FCK holding midfielder has been pressed 13 times, but in most cases, he managed to escape without losing possession.

Behrens is on the spot

A long ball flies dangerously into the visitors' penalty area, but Behrens is alert and snatches the ball.

It's getting hectic

Lorenz commits a tactical foul and Makridis protests on top of that. Yellow cards for both Preußen players.

This is getting exciting!

Ten minutes remain in Kaiserslautern: The match is now completely open and Lautern are under pressure.
79'

Kinsombi ice-cold for the leveller!

It's unbelievable: Kaiserslautern had the match completely under control, then Krahl plays a very weak goal kick and Preußen's counter-attack is on. Makridis passes to Kinsombi in the middle, who scores with an unstoppable first-time shot.

One look, one shot, one goal!

The only goal so far at the Betzenberg came through the impressive Ritter.
74'

Far too casual

Ritter fails to play in Yokota on the right, instead he pushes the ball far too slowly into the visitors' penalty area, allowing them to clear easily.
72'

Cleared off the line

After a corner from Ritter, the situation in front of Behrens in Preußen's six-yard box is chaotic and critical for the visitors. The substitute Heuer is in the thick of it. They manage to clear just before the line, conceding another corner to Ritter. However, this corner comes to nothing.
69'

Preußen upping the intensity

In the first half, Münster were inferior to the hosts in terms of ball recovery. However, since the break and falling behind, Preußen have significantly raised their tempo and are now on par with Lautern in chasing the ball.

Yokota steps up

The Lautern player is now posing repeated danger on the right flank, moving forward and creating several chances.
57'

Ritter shows another side

The scorer of the 1-0 tracks back to chase Kyerewaa and arrives far too late with his sliding tackle. Yellow card for Ritter and a free kick for Münster on the left side.
54'

Kinsombi sends Yokota flying

Just outside his own penalty area, Kinsombi clumsily sticks out his leg against Yokota. Free kick for Lautern, yellow card for Kinsombi.
52'

With Zuck's jersey in hand

After scoring, Ritter rushes directly to the Lautern bench and gets handed Zuck's jersey, displaying it to everyone in the stadium.
51'

Lautern break the deadlock!

And it's Ritter who does it all by himself: The technician is on the spot on the far edge of the penalty area and calmly places the ball past all the Preußen defenders into the far corner. The assist came from the previously inconspicuous Hanslik.

The midfielder is switched on at the start of the second half as well, maintaining possession against several opponents.

Half-time: Lautern 0-0 Münster

A lot of battling and a very strong Krahl in goal for Kaiserslautern were the best that the first half in Kaiserslautern between the Red Devils and Preußen Münster had to offer.
45'
+ 3

Brilliant Krahl

Preußen have already had some really good chances here - statistically, one of them should have gone in. However, FCK keeper Julian Krahl has made excellent saves and parried all three attempts - despite statistics suggesting only two saves were to be expected.

Ritter misses to the left

From in off the right flank and about 28 metres from goal, Ritter takes a chance, but puts the ball clearly wide to the left. No danger for Behrens' goal.
44'

Paetow the catapult

The Münster player once again throws the ball far and accurately to the penalty spot of the home team. However, Lautern manage to clear it and attempt to counter-attack. Yokota loses the ball 30 metres in front of the Preußen goal, and Münster are awarded a free kick.
43'

Where is Hanslik, by the way?

A very uncomfortable match for the striker, who has hardly had any touches of the ball. Lautern's centre-forward has only been on the ball six times, the least of all 22 players on the pitch.
40'

A sore one

Frenkert catches Zimmer unpleasantly in an aerial duel. The Lautern player crashes to the ground and requires treatment. However, Zimmer is able to continue. Frenkert receives a yellow card nonetheless.
39'

Kaloc tests Behrens

The Red Devils now play purposefully through the centre towards the goal. Kaloc shoots from 25 metres on the bumpy pitch. Behrens saves, but can only parry the ball forward. The Prussians then clear it.
37'

Krahl forced to save again!

The home team are playing recklessly in their own penalty area at times! Krahl has to risk everything in his own box multiple times to prevent the opposition from scoring. Pick fails to beat the Kaiserslautern goalkeeper once more! Outstanding minutes from Krahl.
34'

World-class save from Krahl!

Kinsombi sends Pick on his way and the former Lautern player dances past an opponent in the penalty area before aiming for the near corner from 11 metres out. Krahl spreads his legs and manages to prevent the ball from going in. Absolutely brilliant from the Lautern goalkeeper!
33'

Early booking

After an early yellow card and further fouls, Preußen manager Hildmann substitutes his midfielder Scherder to prevent a sending-off.
31'

Lautern take control

After Preußen initially had the better of the game, Lautern is increasingly taking control. Meanwhile, the visitors make an early substitution.

Battle for every inch

In Kaiserslautern, both teams are allowing few chances and giving no quarter.
27'

First chance for Red Devils

Krahl quickly moves the ball forward, and Yokota ultimately delivers a sharp cross in front of Behrens' goal. The Preußen keeper gets a hand to it before the visitors can clear it for a corner.
26'

Ritter dances

The home side's technician can only be stopped by a foul in midfield. Münster won't mind, as the counter-attack is now thwarted.
21'

Sirch joins the attack

The defender initiates a counter-attack for the home side and drives the ball forward. However, one or two too many side passes cause the opportunity to fizzle out.

Remembrance Day in German Football

80 years ago, on 27 January 1945, the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp was liberated. German football has been commemorating this event for more than 20 years, remembering the people persecuted, deported and murdered by the Nazis on match days in and around around 27 January.

Behrens' first league game for Münster

Behrens is in goal today instead of Preußen's regular keeper Schenk. For Münster, Behrens has only played one cup match so far, the 5-0 defeat against VfB Stuttgart in August 2024. His last competitive match was in May 2023 for Waldhof Mannheim in the 3. Liga.

Preußen without regulars

The visitors are missing three key players today. Top scorer Mees and first-choice goalkeeper Schenk are absent due to illness. Ever-present Kirkeskov became a father during the week and was therefore in Denmark. He is also not available today.

New signing straight in

Bauer is in the starting eleven for FC Kaiserslautern. The new arrival from Augsburg starts in the back three alongside Sirch and Elvedi, who was suffering from a cold earlier in the week.

Münster starting XI

Behrens - Scherder, Paetow, Koulis - Ter Horst, Kinsombi, Hendrix, Frenkert – Pick, Kyerewaa – Amenyido

Kaiserslautern starting XI

Krahl - Elvedi, Sirch, Bauer - Zimmer, Robinson, Kaloc, Wekesser - Yokota, Ritter - Hanslik

Sascha Hildmann on facing Kaiserslautern

"It will be a tough match. Kaiserslautern's home strength is well-known and the atmosphere there will certainly be heated. They have a lot of quality in their squad and will undoubtedly put us under pressure."

Markus Anfang on facing Münster

"We want to bring our game plan to the pitch and pose challenges for the opponent. We must play with passion, mentality and a lot of heart."

Grodowski transfers to Bielefeld

Centre-forward Joel Grodowski will no longer play for Preußen. The striker is moving immediately to Arminia Bielefeld in the 3rd division.

Contract with Kok terminated

Preußen Münster has terminated the contract with centre-back Thomas Kok. The Dutchman has since joined Sportfreunde Lotte.
camera-photo

New centre-back for FCK

Kaiserslautern have strengthened their squad with Maximilian Bauer. The centre-back joins on loan from Bundesliga side Augsburg.

Mause leaves Kaiserslautern on loan

Jannik Mause is leaving FCK after only half a year - at least for now. The centre-forward, who joined Kaiserslautern in the summer, is moving to Greuther Fürth on loan.

Hildmann in focus

From December 2018 to September 2019, Sascha Hildmann was the first Kaiserslautern native to manage FCK in over 50 years. He guided the club from a relegation battle to secure safety in the third division (ninth place). One of his key players at the time was Florian Pick (17 goals and 17 assists in 67 third-tier matches for FCK in total).

Rich history

That win was only Kaiserslautern's second victory in eight competitive matches against Preußen Münster, with the first coming in 1951 in the German Championship final! Ottmar Walter scored twice in front of 85,000 spectators at Berlin's Olympic Stadium, turning around the deficit caused by Fiffi Gerritzen and making FCK German champions for the first time.

The reverse fixture

A late substitute goal from Ragnar Ache (86th minute) was enough for FCK to secure a 1-0 victory in Münster the last time these sides met in the Bundesliga 2.
