Freshening things up

All five incoming Eintracht players have not started regularly this term: Ehlers was last in the first XI on Matchday 1, Bell Bell, Tauer and Szabó each on Matchday 2, and Gomez on Matchday 3.

Visitors make three changes

Old faces returning

Hannover forward Håvard Nielsen played for Braunschweig for a year and a half. During his time there he was relegated from the Bundesliga with Eintracht in 2013/14 (grabbing two goals in 16 games, including one against his current club). He then scored eight goals in 30 games for Braunschweig in Bundesliga 2.

Solid at the back

Hannover have conceded less than one goal per game on average against Braunschweig in Bundesliga 2 (16 in 20 games).

A force at home

Braunschweig have lost just one of their last six home games against Hannover in all competitions (2-1 in February 2021, with three wins and two draws).

Hannover on top

Scherning on Hannover:

"This is perhaps the most extraordinary and important match of the season. It's a match with which you can change a lot. It's a match with which you can turn things around. And it's a match where a great deal is at stake. We feel ready for it."

Leitl on Braunschweig:

"There will be a lot of back and forth. I believe it will be a very physical match - that's what a derby brings. With high intensity and a willingness to run. That's the starting point for this match. Absolute second-division football with a lot of emotion - that's what we can expect on Sunday."
