Kimmich loops a ball over the top of the Gladbach defence for Goretzka to run onto. He brings it down in the box and gets his shot away, but Nicolas pulls off an excellent save to deny him.

Bayern break again. This time Goretzka plays it wide to Coman, who slides it through to the byline for Gnabry. The German flashes a low cross right in front of the Gladbach goal, but no one gets on the end of it.

Olise cuts in off the right once again, before playing it into the path of Gnabry. He gets into the box and tries to shoot, but Itakura is there to put a foot in before he can. Bayern win a corner, but they can't make it count.

Coman is sent through down the left. Nicolas comes off his line, but Coman gets there first to stab it round the keeper and into the path of Sané. The German has an open net but sends the ball ballooning over the bar from the edge of the box. Not the birthday present he would've wanted...

Kane steps up to take it, having never missed a penalty for the record champions. He stutters in the run-up before dispatching it into the bottom right corner, sending Nicolas diving the wrong way for his 15th Bundesliga goal of the season.

Coman gets to the byline, before crossing in towards Olise at the far post. It drops for the Frenchman, but before he can shoot, Ullrich brings him down. The referee awards the visitors a penalty and Ullrich a yellow card.

A backheel from Kimmich finds Olise on the edge of the Gladbach box. He fakes his shot twice before pulling the trigger, but there's not enough power behind it to really trouble Nicolas.

Müller makes way for Coman. Can the winger open up this Gladbach defence?

Olise plays an outrageous pass through the Gladbach defence, looking for Müller, who looks to be in behind, if not for a fantastic sliding challenge from Scally, who sends it behind for a corner. Kimmich takes, but Nicolas punches clear.

Hack's challenge on Laimer sends the ball behind for a Bayern corner. Olise delivers an in-swinger, but he can't beat the first defender at the near post.

Olise breaks for Bayern down the right. He reaches the edge of the Gladbach box, squaring it to Sané, who shoots first-time, his powerful effort forcing a good save out of Nicolas.

The game opens up down the right for Bayern. Olise threads it through to Laimer, who storms into the Bayern box. He attempts a backheel into the path of Olise, but Ullrich is wary to the danger.

Sané combines well with Davies down the left, before firing a low cross towards the back post, but Reitz is there to clear for Gladbach.

Kimmich takes an in-swinger from the left, but Elvedi heads it clear.

Kimmich plays a ball from deep into the box, finding the path of Müller, who gets on the end of it on the edge of the six-yard box. Unmarked, he shoots first time, but Nicolas is equal to it with an outstanding reaction save.

Müller's high-pressing down the left pays dividends. The veteran wins it back high up the pitch, crossing into Goretzka, whose first touch frees him from his marker in the middle, before shooting with his left. But his effort from point-blank range is wide of the mark.

The Gladbach gives away a free-kick in a good position on the left of the Gladbach penalty area. Kimmich swings it in, but Reitz rises highest to head it clear.

Bayern have themselves a promising-looking attack. Goretzka treis to slip it through to Sané, but his pass is overhit, allowing for Gladbach to get back and snuff out the danger.

Twisting and turning, the Bayern winger cuts in off the right before pulling the trigger, but Ullrich is always with him and makes the block.

This time Olise takes, swinging it in from the right with his left foot. He finds the head of Dier, who glances it goalwards, but his effort is just over.

Kimmich takes it short, but Gladbach are alert to the danger, defending well and getting it clear.

Ullrich brings Olise down in the right channel outside the Gladbach area. Kimmich takes, looking for Kane, but Kleindienst heads behind for a corner.
