Kane steps up to take it, having never missed a penalty for the record champions. He stutters in the run-up before dispatching it into the bottom right corner, sending Nicolas diving the wrong way for his 15th Bundesliga goal of the season.

Coman gets to the byline, before crossing in towards Olise at the far post. It drops for the Frenchman, but before he can shoot, Ullrich brings him down. The referee awards the visitors a penalty and Ullrich a yellow card.

The ball falls kindly for Kleindienst and Gladbach find themselves on the break. He drives forward down the right, beating Davies, before putting a searching cross in towards Hack at the back post. But, Kimmich recovers well, calmly heading back into the hands of Neuer.

Müller's high-pressing down the left pays dividends. The veteran wins it back high up the pitch, crossing into Goretzka, whose first touch frees him from his marker in the middle, before shooting with his left. But his effort from point-blank range is wide of the mark.

Bayern the ones to beat
Bayern are four points clear at the top of the table, but with last year's champions Bayer Leverkusen hot on their heels. They won their last game before the break in emphatic fashion, beating RB Leipzig 5-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Gladbach on the up
The hosts were unbeaten in their last three before the break, with two of those games being wins. They are currently eighth, with the European places not far away at all now.
