Five added minutes
A good chunk of added time is to be played at the Red Bull Arena.
90'
Rounding it off
After receiving the ball from fellow sub Silva on the edge of the box, Baumgartner takes a couple of touches before curling it into the bottom corner to add a fourth for Leipzig.
87'
Two changes per side
Šeško and Klostermann make way for Silva and Geertruida, whilst Leipzig-born Bittencourt and Njinmah replace Stage and Lynen.
86'
Silky dribbling
Šeško moves it nicely through the penalty area and forces Stark to knock it behind for a corner. Great feet from the striker!
82'
Haidara suspended
The midfielder picks up his fifth yellow card of the season, which means Marco Rose will be unable to call upon him for Leipzig's midweek match against Stuttgart.
82'
Post denies Nusa wondergoal
After dribbling past several Bremen players, Nusa looks set to score a fabulous solo goal. He pokes it past Zetterer, but his effort strikes the woodwork and rolls away from goal.
81'
Still up for grabs?
A Werder comeback is not totally off the cards, but they will need to get one back soon if so, and are currently failing to create any good goalscoring opportunities.
79'
Orban knocks it wide
The Leipzig captain gets on the end of Seiwald's free-kick cross, but is unable to turn the ball home with the tip of his right foot, knocking it just wide.
78'
Openda tests Zetterer
Leipzig's latest long-range effort stings the palms of the Bremen 'keeper, who is then tested shortly afterwards by Nusa. The winger cuts in off the left wing before wrapping a shot towards goal, but Zetterer is equal to it once again.
75'
Latest Leipzig switch
Marco Rose elects for a change in central midfield as Haidara replaces Kampl.
72'

Not giving in
Bremen's latest attack sees Köhn square it across the box to Grüll, who turns before trying to get a shot away. His effort is immediately blocked, but the visitors certainly aren't going down without a fight.
63'
Openda comes close
The Belgium international gets on the end of a clever Xavi through ball, eventually firing towards goal from a tight angle on the left side of the box. He forces a good save out of Zetterer and wins a corner.
61'
Latest ferocious Šeško effort
There were shades of his goal-bound effort in the latest one attempted by Šeško, who fires another powerful effort towards Zetterer's goal. This time, the shot is off target, but he certainly appears fired up for the occasion.

Neat play, no finish
Schmid dances around the Leipzig penalty area before playing it across to Ducksch, who works some space for a flat cross into the box, but no one in a black shirt is there to get to the pass and it gets cleared.

Raum cuts out effort
Ducksch works it wide to goalscorer Weiser, who takes a touch before looking to strike towards goal. However, Raum gets across to put his body in front of the effort and block.
50'
Superb strike
Šeško's effort clocked in at 126.43 km/h (around 78 mph), the fourth-fastest goal recorded in the league this season.
47'
Starting the second half in style
After getting on the end of Weiser's misplaced pass into midfield, Šeško has a go from 25 metres out and thunders the ball past Zetterer and into the top-right corner. An absolute thunderbolt to give Leipzig a two-goal lead.

Pair of blocks
Klostermann steps onto the ball as it rolls across the edge of the box, but his shot only finds a Bremen defender, and the same thing happens to Xavi on the rebound. Leipzig are actively seeking a two-goal cushion.
39'
Impressive Nusa
Xavi may be stealing the headlines with his first-half brace, but it has been a strong performance from his opposite winger Nusa so far, who is coping well amid the Bremen pressure and is helping find attacking solutions for his team.

Glorious goal
Xavi is making sure the rest of the Bundesliga knows he's back! He picks the ball up near the halfway line and charges at the Bremen defence. The midfielder works some space for a shot on the right edge of the box, and his effort takes a deflection off former Leipzig player Jung before landing in the back of the net.
34'
Taking a moment
Leipzig have put their foot on the ball somewhat and are moving it through their defence and midfield, perhaps just taking stock after a whirlwind opening 30 minutes.
32'
Three for the season
Both Xavi and Weiser notched their third league goals of the season with their first-half efforts. There were just two minutes between the goals.
26'
Instant reply
Some great combination play has led to Bremen's equaliser. Weiser plays a couple of one-twos, the second of which sees Grüll flick it back into the path of the wing-back with the back of his heel, before Weiser tucks it into the bottom-right corner with a cool left-footed finish.
24'
Back in the side, back in the goals
Openda flicks on a throw-in into the path of the returning Xavi, who drives through the middle before slotting the ball into the bottom-left corner from the edge of the box, wrong-footing Zetterer and giving the hosts the lead.

Openda over
The Belgian tries a spectacular effort, but his acrobatic shot goes off target.

11'
Friedl to miss midweek fixture
Bremen's captain received his fifth yellow card of the season after committing a foul on Šeško, which rules him out for his side's fixture against Heidenheim on Wednesday.
11'
Schmid chests wide
The Austrian is unable to turn it home from his compatriot's cross in from the right, having tried to divert it goalwards in unorthodox fashion.
10'
Losing his footing
Köhn puts a good cross in from the left and Orbán stops it dead rather than clearing, and it nearly falls into the path of Ducksch, butt he striker slips before he is able to connect with the ball.
9'
Xavi wins free-kick next to the corner flag
Bremen fail to clear after the ball rolls and stops on their by-line. The returning Xavi nips in and draws a foul, but the resulting set-piece delivery is punched clear by Zetterer.
4'
Bremen forward for the first time
The visitors work it into the Leipzig third, but Schmid's cross into the box is cleared and then Lynen's long-range effort is stopped at source. Grüll then seemed to have been played in behind the Leipzig line, but Orbán got back to prevent the Austrian from shooting.
2'
Xavi's first involvement
The Dutchman looks to make an instant impact on his return as he tries to play in David Raum on the left edge of the box, but Stark shuffles across to intercept and clears it away.

A golden December
Bremen won four out of four to round off 2024, registering three league victories and progressing through to the last eight in the DFB Cup. The last time the Green-Whites went on such a winning streak was in 2021/22, back when they were playing in the Bundesliga 2.
Contrasting winter friendlies
The two sides are resuming their Bundesliga campaigns on the back of mixed results in their friendlies over the winter break. Whilst Bremen suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to FC Twente of the Netherlands last weekend, RB Leipzig got back into scoring ways with a 10-0 victory over Czech third-division side FK Banik Most-Sous on Monday. However, it will be today's result that is more important to the two teams.
Not Werder's favourite away ground
Bremen boast a strong record on the road this season, winning five and drawing one of their eight away league fixtures in 2024/25. However, the Green-Whites have never emerged victorious from the Red Bull Arena. In fact, their 1-1 draw last season was the first time Werder took points from an away meeting against Leipzig.
