Full-time: Heidenheim 0-2 Pauli

It's another successful away day in Baden-Württemberg for Pauli, as they clinch a significant 2-0 victory against Heidenheim. The Boys in Brown frustrated their hosts for much of the second half, not allowing Frank Schmidt's side many big chances, before they broke to score a second late on putting the seal on a good day's work and temporarily climbing up to 13th.

Breunig turns it home, but the flag is up

Heidenheim play it short from the free kick, then Beck drills it across the face of goal from the right flank. It first hits Breunig's thigh, then his chest, but most importantly for the hosts, the ball then goes into the back of the net. However, due to Krätzig being in an offside position when the set-piece was played short, the goal is disallowed.

Frank Schmidt on St. Pauli

"We mustn't forget that St. Pauli won in Stuttgart, in Freiburg, in Hoffenheim, and at home against Kiel, which is equal to our four wins in the first half of the season. They are a team that defends well; they’ve conceded the second fewest goals but also scored the fewest, but they’re a team that are very good in the transition."
camera-photo

Alexander Blessin on Heidenheim

“They have come out of the winter break with four points, and they look more confident. A late goal like [the one against Bremen] can energise a team. We always say that we're focussing on ourselves. If we can play our game then we can stand up to any opponent, as we've often proved. We have to build our confidence back up."
