Yet a quick-fire, second-half hat-trick from Myron Boadu - his first in the Bundesliga - had Bochum fans in raptures by the end.

Interestingly, today represents the first time that Leipzig are without Loïs Openda (suspended) for a Bundesliga game since the Belgian signed for the club in 2023. He had previously failed to miss any of the previous 51 top-flight games for the Saxony-based side.

We'll be working on something that gives us the best chance to win the home game on Saturday."
