Late heartbreaker for Stuttgart
Gladbach have been rescued by the offside flag as a Stuttgart corner from Stiller finds the head of Undav who, from an initial offside position, puts the ball into Nicolas's net but is ultimately denied by the referee.

Stuttgart probing
Gladbach look like they're in lockdown mode now in the closing minutes as the Stuttgart players aim to find solutions to land anything concrete at Nicolas's goal. So far, they've been kept at an arm's length by the Gladbach defence despite the own goal earlier.

Gladbach record could be safe..
With five minutes to go, Gladbach look well on course to maintain their unbeaten record from games where they have taken the lead and with the xG tally reading 2.52 at this point, their lead is well-earned.

KLEINDIENST SCORES!
Gladbach have their lead! Kleindienst makes up for his missed efforts as Ullrich tees him up in the six-yard box for the Germany international to get his 12th of the season! VAR intervenes on the on-pitch offside call and correctly gives Kleindienst his goal!

Final throw of the dice
With the game's closing phase approaching, Hoeneß is throwing his final play, bringing on Rieder and Keitel to add fresh legs and impetus to the Stuttgart midfield.

Kleindienst denied by Nübel!
Now it is the Gladbach front man who finds himself in a 1v1 situation after finding himself at the end of an Ullrich through-ball, however, Nübel stands tall in the Stuttgart goal and denies the Germany international a potential Bundesliga goal number 12.
72'
Führich straight at Nicolas!
Stuttgart finally have their first shot on target of the day, a well worked pass in behind the Gladbach defence for the speedy Führich to chase, who does get there, but his side-foot shot is straight at Nicolas in the Gladbach goal.
70'
Undav enters the action
The Germany international will hope to do better than his Bosnian team-mate up front as Hoeneß throws onto the pitch possibly his best chance of finding the lead.
69'
Foals overcooking their chances
Foals have had the majority of chances thus far but finishing seems to be a problem. Ngoumou triggers the latest offensive sequence, attacking the Stuttgart box with a deft run and nearly finding the feet of Kleindienst who is unable to adjust his feet to get a shot away.

Gladbach working their socks off
If Stuttgart's frustrations appear to continue past the hour mark, it is all down to Gladbach's tireless work off the ball, cutting off passing lanes and pressing key players man-to-man, Seoane's side have looked very solid.

Foals fiery on the counter-attack
A loose ball from Stiller is pounced upon by Ullrich triggering a series of slick passing combinations from Gladbach to get up the pitch, with the move ending at Kleindienst's feet, whose cut-back from the right is cleared away.
59'
Double change for Hoeneß
The Stuttgart boss is now ringing the changes, with Mittelstädt and Führich entering the play, a brand-new left hand side for Stuttgart, as Hendriks moves to the left-sided centre back spot.
57'
Rising temperatures
Hendriks charges down Kleindienst on the counter-attack with a little shirt tug which boils into a little more on the uglier side. The referee wastes little time in taking both names for his book. Cards for both players as a result.
56'
Stöger shoots at Nübel!
An excellent early run from Ngoumou beats Hendriks on the Stuttgart flanks and the Frenchman finds Stöger with a cut back at the edge of the Stuttgart box, his shot at Nübel is easily saved but the Austrian is brought down in the process. Referee is happy to let play on.
52'
Hack testing Nübel
A well-timed run from the German gets him in behind the Stuttgart defensive line, though the angle is too tight for a clean shot and is easily collected by Nübel in the end.
50'
Stuttgart back in it!
And they have Nico Elvedi to thank for it! Stuttgart successfully build out from the back and enter the Gladbach final third from a Bruun Larsen flick on to Woltemade, the Dane advances down the left for a one-two before playing a deft square pass across the box which is unfortunately deflected into the back of the Gladbach net from Elvedi. The perfect start to the second 45 for Stuttgart!

Ngoumou aiming for second
The Frenchman is hungry for more but sees his second shot on target tamely easily by Nübe

No changes at half-time
Both bosses happy to enter the second period with their starting XIs, with Gladbach certainly the happier of the two camps.

Woltemade being shut out
Another hopeful cross from Leweling on the Stuttgart right finds it's way into a good area in the box with Woltemade rising high to attack it, but Gladbach's numbers once again prove to be a frustration for the forward who has endured a difficult first 45.

Gladbach growing in confidence
The away side want to finish the half strong and have produced another impressive attacking foray into the Stuttgart half, with a mazy run from Joe Scally and some neat combination play with Ngoumou producing a hand-ball foul from Hendriks. From the resulting set-piece, a square-ball to Robin Hack does produce a shot but is ultimately blocked.

Frustrations for Stuttgart
Though Hoeneß's side are seeing a lot of the ball, it feels like Gladbach defenders are just one step ahead of them every time they attempt a probing pass around the box, whereas the crosses have been relatively easy to defend thus far for the away side.
28'
Almost instant-response from Stuttgart
Another almost opportunity for the home side, as a cross from Leweling finds the head of Demirovic, whose flicked header could have been an assist for Bruun Larsen, but the Dane couldn't sort his feet in time.
25'
Goal for Gladbach!
It's a superb move from Gladbach which finally delivers a goal for them. Ngoumou's well-timed run from the right flank is found expertly by Weigl, but the Frenchman still has a lot to do to beat Nübel at the near post and does so with aplomb. 1-0 to the visitors!
22'
First effort for Stuttgart!
And it falls to the head of Demirović who really feels he should have done better with that. A well-worked cross from Bruun Larsen finds the Bosnian in the Gladbach box but his header glances well wide of Nicolas' net. That makes it Stuttgart's first attempt of the afternoon.
20'
Set-piece opportunity for Gladbach or not?
Another set-piece wasted by the Foals who are yet to find the back of the net from a set play, unusually wasteful from the generally productive Stöger.

Measured Millot at the heart of play
After a couple of games out of the starting XI, the Frenchman is really looking to take the game by the scruff of the neck, stringing along clever passes between the lines of Gladbach's defence.

Itakura with a crucial intervention
The game has a real end-to-end feel to it in the opening exchanges, Stuttgart's latest attack comes from a cross into the box from Leweling towards Demirović who would have had an open shot on Nicolas' goal had it not been for a crucial intervention from Ko Itakura.
7'
Chance for Stöger!
Gladbach's pressure is paying off well with Stuttgart struggling to play out from the back. The latest sequence of pressure leads to a chipped pass into the path of midfield maestro Kevin Stöger, whose shot is directly at Nübel and easy to save.

Looking for Kleindienst
It's Gladbach's turn now to attack the Stuttgart box and after a sequence of neat passes between the lines, fullback Ullrich is released into space who lofts a hopeful ball into the box for Kleindienst, but it is shepherded by the Stuttgart defence into the hands of goalkeeper Nübel.
2'
Early pressure from VfB
Stuttgart start on the front foot and Nick Woltemade is making his presence felt once again, the 22-year-old always proves to be a handful for defenders.

Test of European aspirations
Both sides will be out for three points. A win for Stuttgart keeps them in the top four assuming they can maintain a greater goal-difference than Leipzig. Meanwhile for Gladbach, a win would take them to 30 points for the season, a big improvement on their 21 points at this exact stage last term.
