Schalke to wear special kit for German Cancer Aid

Schalke will wear a kit promoting German Cancer Aid this weekend. The Royal Blues will play in dark blue, pink, light blue and white - the colours representing the most common types of cancer. "It's a very special kit," said coach Kees van Wonderen, "I'm pleased to have my first match in such a kit. Many people have had experiences with cancer, myself included. In 2003, I lost my mother to colon cancer, which makes this an extra special match for me. I think it's very good that the club is giving so much attention to this, to help eradicate it from the world."

Kees van Wonderen's view on Fürth

"We've had another good week of preparation with the team. We're continuing on the right path and are taking the lessons learned from the last match with us. We've put a lot of energy and work into the defensive organisation of the team. We need to maintain that and now do it better. We need to find a balance to improve offensively while maintaining our defence. Offensively, we want to show our intent."

Haas' view on Schalke

"Things aren't running perfectly at Schalke, we know that. Nevertheless, the focus should be on the match that we can influence and on doing our things well. I believe this energy is a crucial factor for everyone, and I've absolutely seen it."
