Full-time: Nuremberg 1-0 Eintracht Braunschweig
That's that in Nuremberg! In was a tough watch at times and a set-piece provided the decisive moment. Nuremberg won deservedly but failed to settle the match earlier and had to endure some nervy moments. Braunschweig fought hard with ten men, but ultimately lacked a cutting edge. In this form, they'll struggle to avoid relegation.

Eintracht try to push
Despite being a man down, Braunschweig had the last three shots on goal. Nuremberg are taking a few risks here.
85'
Negative streak
Braunschweig are facing another setback - if they lose, Eintracht would have collected only one point from their last five matches, would be goalless for four matches, and would spend the winter break in the bottom two.
84'
Braunschweig effort blocked
Gómez shoots from the left side of the penalty area but only finds the back of a Nuremberg player. The visitors are trying to create again.
83'
End of the losing streak?
Nuremberg are on course for their first victory after six winless matches. It would be their first three points in almost two months (since 25 October when they had the legendary 8-3 victory against Regensburg on Matchday 10).

Clean sheet ahead?
Nuremberg have only kept two clean sheets this season, and only one at home (in the 0-0 draw against Kaiserslautern on Matchday 12). They can't take anything for granted, but Eintracht do not look too much of a threat presently with ten men.

Ice-cold Nuremberg

49'
Goooooal for Nuremberg!
The opener finally comes! Knoche has a brilliant idea, taking a free-kick quickly and chipping the ball into the right side of the box - Tzimas reacts fastest, makes a quick run and smashes the ball inside the near post on the bounce.

Fine young Janisch
19-year-old Tim Janisch, who made his first Bundesliga 2 start, has so far justified the faith of his head coach Miroslav Klose.

Clearly superior hosts
Nuremberg was significantly superior in terms of play (61% possession, 90% pass completion rate) and eventually found ways to create chances late on in the first half. Braunschweig were on the ropes in the final minutes but defended well and put in the hard yards (covering 1.6 kilometres more).

Half-time: Nuremberg 0-0 Eintracht Braunschweig
The teams head to the dressing rooms with it remaining goalless, even though towards the end of the first half, the match really picked up pace. Nuremberg needed a while to warm-up but then had six shots on goal to Braunschweig's two from the 29th minute onwards as they came close to taking the lead. Eintracht just managed to hang on until half-time.

Nuremberg pressing
Since the 29th minute, Nuremberg have had four shots on goal and have seen chances to take the lead. The half-time break is not really coming at a good time for them.
44'
Another attempt
Tzimas strongly asserts himself in midfield against his opponent, turns and then perfectly sets up Justvan with a through ball. The Nuremberg attacker cannot beat the alert Eintracht keeper, however.

Before kick-off, players and fans jointly commemorate the victims and injured of the terrible attack on the Christmas market in Magdeburg on Friday.
Young Nuremberg
Nuremberg's starting eleven has an average age of 23.4 years - making it the youngest all season in Bundesliga 2. Four of Nuremberg's starters are below the age of 20: Finn Jeltsch and Stefanos Tzimas are still 18, while Berkay Yilmaz and Tim Janisch are only 19.
Goalless Braunschweig
Braunschweig have failed to score in their last three Bundesliga 2 matches - going back 270 minutes. Their last goal was scored by Rayan Philippe on Matchday 13 in stoppage time against Kaiserslautern.
Two changes for Eintracht as well

Two changes for Nuremberg
There are two changes to Nuremberg's starting lineup compared to the side beaten 1-3 in Cologne: Florian Flick and Tim Janisch start in place of Oliver Villadsen (not in the squad) and Mahir Emreli (bench).

Daniel Scherning on facing Nuremberg
"We need to be there for each other now - only we can free ourselves from this situation. We must be ready on Saturday and give everything to play a good match. Belief will be crucial. If there are negative experiences on the pitch, we have to find a way to manoeuvre ourselves out of the situation as a team."
Miroslav Klose on facing Braunschweig
"We want to give the fans back a sense of trust; that's our goal. Braunschweig can hurt any opponent. But we need to focus on ourselves. If we bring our strengths to bear and keep our focus, then we will be in a good position."
Hometown
Robin Knoche was born in Braunschweig but never played for Eintracht. In 2016/17, Knoche and Wolfsburg prevailed against Braunschweig in the Bundesliga relegation play-offs (two 1-0 victories, he didn't miss a minute), which were his last competitive matches against Eintracht to date.
Founding members
Braunschweig and Nuremberg were founding members of the Bundesliga, and were among the top teams in Germany at the end of the 1960s. Eintracht won the title in 1967 (through a 4-1 home victory against Nuremberg on the final matchday) and were then dethroned by them a year later.
Once upon a time
Braunschweig's last victory against the hosts was nearly 46 years ago. On 24 March 1979, the Lower Saxony side won 3-0 in Nuremberg in the Bundesliga, with goals from Karl-Heinz Handschuh, Uwe Krause and Harald Nickel.
Home strength
Nuremberg are unbeaten in 11 competitive matches at home against Braunschweig.
