Full-time: Regensburg 2-1 Darmstadt
Regensburg secure a narrow victory against Darmstadt in an intense and hard-fought match. Regensburg defended well, withstood the pressure from the Lilies, and clinically took their chances: Pröger opened the scoring with a spectacular goal, and Ganaus added a second. Minute of silence
Before kick-off, fans and players observe a moment of silence for the victims of the terrible attack in Magdeburg.
Kohfeldt must make changes
After Darmstadt had started with the same starting eleven four times in a row, coach Florian Kohfeldt has to make a change today: Luca Marseiler starts in place of the injured Isac Lidberg. It's Marseiler's first start in the starting lineup since the end of September (when the Lilies suffered their last defeat on matchday 7).
Unchanged Jahn
Regensburg starts with the same starting eleven that gave Karlsruhe a tough fight on the last matchday, but ultimately lost 2-4 despite leading twice.

Andreas Patz on facing Darmstadt
"For me, Darmstadt are the team of the moment in the second division. They have the best attack and have scored five goals in some games. They have played a slightly frenzied manner but they have a lot of individual quality. Especially in attack, they have a lot of depth and a strong presence in the box, into which they play a lot of passes. They're quick to pounce on the second ball and their defence works in a very organised way to put pressure on the ball carrier."
Florian Kohfeldt on facing Regensburg
"Three points in Regensburg would certainly be a nice Christmas present. But that will only work with 100 percent energy, attention and physical performance. I really don't sense any fatigue in the team. Neither physically nor mentally."
Reunion
Kohfeldt last faced the hosts in April 2021, when his Werder Bremen side won 1-0 at Jahn in the DFB Cup quarter-finals, thanks to a Yuya Osako strike.
Similar circles
Andreas Patz and Florian Kohfeldt have both previously worked in Belgium. The Regensburg coach was employed at Excelsior Mouscron and Cercle Brugge, while the Darmstadt boss worked at KAS Eupen.
Good record
Regensburg have lost only four of their 16 second-tier encounters against the Lilies (six wins, six draws). The two clubs first met in Bundesliga 2 back in 1975.
Evenly matched
The last four encounters in 2021/22 and 2022/23 in Bundesliga 2 all ended with 2-0 victories - twice Regensburg won, twice the Lilies.
