Full-time: Magdeburg 2-2 Fürth
Fürth found their footing just in time and, aided by Magdeburg's passivity, managed to secure a deserved 2-2 draw in the end. This match will be remembered for the bizarre lapses from Jung and Heber.

Hidden camera?
It was a 'normal' football match until Fürth's Jung absentmindedly picked up the ball with his hand in his own penalty area after twelve minutes - obviously assuming it was a goal kick. Problem: The ball hadn't gone out of play. And as if the match hadn't already provided enough material for the end-of-year review with this scene, Heber made a mistake of the same kind at the other end shortly before half-time. The Magdeburg player had anticipated referee Dankert's non-existent free-kick whistle when he picked up the ball rolling into the FCM penalty area with his hand.

Double madness!
How often do you see that kind of defensive misunderstanding in the area? Jung and Heber suffer the same mishap within half an hour!

Green keeps his cool!
The veteran says thanks very much, shoots low to the right and reduces the deficit!

Penalty for Fürth!
Heber handles the ball in the Magdeburg penalty area! Another spot-kick is awarded!

No takers
Kaars bursts through on the right and delivers a sharp, low cross, but finds no takers in the middle.
35'
Futkeu!
A sign of life from the visitors. Futkeu heads towards goal from the right, although Reimann leaps and punches out of his six-yard box.
34'
Up against it
Jung's mistake for the penalty has unsettled his team. Since then, it has been one-way traffic.

Fürth are on the ropes as Magdeburg continue to dominate. El Hankouri shoots from a difficult angle but is thwarted by Noll, who is all that is standing between the hosts and a bigger lead.
27'
Deflected!
Amaechi delivers a sharp cross into the penalty area, but a combination of a deflection and Noll end the threat.
26'
In good form
Kaars scored his fourth goal of the season earlier, with this the first time since Matchday 3 that he has found the back of the net.
24'
Kaars!
Nearly 3-0! The Dutchman escapes Fürth's defence again, but is thwarted by Noll, who blocks the shot well.

Two to the good!
Magdeburg capitalise on their momentum and extend their lead! Kaars is lurking in the middle of Fürth's half, receives the ball and keeps his cool in front of Noll! Within three minutes, Magdeburg are in total control.
15'
The rebound finds the net!
El Hankouri's weak spot-kick is saved, Amaechi collects the rebound and passes back to El Hankouri, who takes advantage this time to break the deadlock.

Penalty!
Bizarre scenes in the Fürth penalty area! Noll rolls the ball to Jung, who obviously thought it was a goal-kick and picks up the ball with his hands. However, it was still in play and a penalty is therefore given.

From an immediate counter-attack, the Fürth defence fall asleep and allow Krempicki to run straight towards goal. However, once in the penalty area, he misses the far left corner.
7'
Green goes close!
Fürth combine beautifully through the centre before Green regains possession after losing the ball. The forward then unleashes a powerful shot - once again, though, it misses the target.
5'
No danger
Now the hosts venture forward for the first time. Following a ball that drops into the penalty area, referee Dankert blows the whistle for a foul by the striker.
4'
Off target
Noll plays a pinpoint lofted pass into the path of Massimo. He cuts inside from the left wing and takes aim, but his curling effort goes well wide of the upright.
2'
Back-to-back corners
Green takes two set-pieces in quick succession, the second of which is played short. It eventually gets played into the area before the ball pinballs through Magdeburg's six-yard box and ultimately goes wide of the right post.

Magdeburg have kicked us off, playing in all blue. Fürth, meanwhile, are wearing their black away kit.

Out onto the pitch
The teams are entering the field in Magdeburg.
Chance for Müller
Tobias Müller had only played one minute as a substitute for Magdeburg across the first seven matchdays. Today, the 30-year-old gets the start he has been looking for.
Fürth unchanged
Cloverleaves coach Alexander Zorniger sends out the same starting eleven that began in the home defeat against Düsseldorf last time out.
Magdeburg make two changes
Magdeburg boss Christian Tietz makes two changes to his starting line-up from the 2-1 victory in Darmstadt. Tobias Müller and Lubambo Musonda come in for the suspended Marcus Mathisen and Philipp Hercher, who is suffering with a muscle injury.
Fürth starting XI
Noll - Dietz, Jung, Itter - Meyerhöfer, Bansé, Green, Massimo - Hrgota - Srbeny, Futkeu
Magdeburg starting XI
Reimann - Hugonet, T. Müller, Heber - Musonda, Gnaka, Krempicki, El Hankouri - Amaechi, Burcu - Kaars
The away curse
The away team has never won this clash, with four home wins (two for each team) before the two most recent draws where Magdeburg and Greuther Fürth were tied both times last season (1-1 in Fürth and 0-0 in Magdeburg).
Atik's kryptonite
Magdeburg midfielder Baris Atik has never won against Fürth in the Bundesliga 2 (three draws and three defeats). Additionally, he was not involved in any of the goals in these three games.
Undefeated against the hosts
Alexander Zorniger has never lost against Magdeburg in five competitive matches as a coach (three wins, two draws).
Titz on Fürth:
"Week after week, you can see how tight this 2. Bundesliga is. Fürth recently lost unluckily against Düsseldorf. They are a team that relies on compactness and running strength. When it comes to taking shots on goal and set pieces, they are one of the most dangerous teams in the league."
Zorniger on Magdeburg:
"Magdeburg is certainly one of the best opponents in the league in terms of football and playing style. They are equipped with many skilful players. For us, it's important that we have rediscovered our aggression in the last match and can play intense football over a longer period of time."
