GUTE NACHT!

Thanks very much for joining us for all of this evening's Bundesliga action, and do tune in again on Friday as the top two, Dortmund and Gladbach, go head-to-head in what promises to be a sensational Battle of the Borussias. The perfect early Christmas present.

KAISER FRANCK DOES IT AGAIN

I remember mentioning - what feels like about three hours ago - that Ribery could become both Bayern and the Bundesliga's most decorated player this season, if he gets his hands on an unprecedented ninth Meisterschale. Should that happen, no doubt we'll look back on this hard-fought win over Leipzig as a turning point in their season. But there's still a very long way to go, and Bayern have a pretty daunting trip of their own to Frankfurt on Saturday before the winter break. You know what? We might just have a title race on our hands.

BAYERN CLOSE THE GAP

It looked for all the world like Leipzig were going to hold Bayern to a draw at the Allianz Arena - but champions are made of sterner stuff, and the Bavarians dug deep to claim three precious points thanks to the evergreen Franck Ribery. They draw level with Gladbach on 33 points and are now six behind leaders Dortmund - that's as close as they've been since travelling to BVB for Der Klassiker on Matchday 11. And lest we forget, the two Borussias go head-to-head on Friday night.

FULL TIME: BAYERN 1-0 LEIPZIG

A huge win for the champions.

RED FOR ILSANKER - AND SANCHES!

The frustration boils over for Leipzig and they will finish the game with 10 men after Ilsanker goes in horribly late on Thiago. Sanches then gets a second yellow after shoving Ilsanker in the aftermath. A shame to see it end like this.

THREE MINUTES OF ADDED TIME

It looks like game over to me.
89'

RIBERY THE HERO

That was Franck Ribery's second goal of the season, and his first off the bench since May 2017. The French veteran has now netted at least twice for Bayern in 12 consecutive seasons, remarkable.
86'

CLOSE!

Leipzig go up the other end and almost equalise through Poulsen, but he can't quite get there. The visitors have a little over five minutes to rescue a point.
83'

RIBERY MAKES THE BREAKTHROUGH!

Oh it's cruel for Leipzig, but Bayern have finally found a way through! A lovely ball over the top for Sanches who can't quite get the shot away - Upamecano attempts to clear but Sanches deflects it into the path of Ribery who slams past Gulacsi for 1-0. Cool as a cucumber.

ILSANKER ON

Perhaps a few alarm bells ringing for Rangnick after several close shaves for his side - he decides to shore up the midfield by bring on Stefan Ilsanker for Bruma. The visitors are now looking to hit on the counter.

Substitution

WONDERSAVE FROM GULACSI!

This is simply outrageous from the Leipzig keeper. Müller sends in a ball from the right, Lewandowski heads it back across for Kimmich, and his bullet header is somehow clawed out by the Hungarian. How was that not a goal?
78'

... AND WHAT A MISS FROM SÜLE!

A rare mistake from Gulacsi and the ball falls perfectly for the Germany defender, but he volleys it over the bar! Perhaps the best chance of the half so far.
77'

FREE-KICK FOR BAYERN

In a pretty decent position out wide...
73'

AT EASE

The pace has just dropped off a little in the past few minutes - hardly surprising given how frenzied it's been since the break... Ahhh and as I type that Müller puts an effort just wide! Yikes. Surely there's a goal in this one?
70'

ANOTHER 0-0?

There have only been two goalless draws at the Allianz Arena this year in all competitions - Bayern were held by Hertha in February (Bundesliga) and Sevilla in April (Champions League). Will Leipzig make it a third stalemate tonight?
67'

YELLOW FOR LAIMER

Laimer, incidentally, was booked for clattering into Ribery a few minutes ago. There's been a good little battle developing there since the Frenchman replaced Gnabry in the first half.
65'

SANCHES!

A first sight of goal for the Portugal international, who drags a shot just wide from the edge of the area.
61'

COMAN OFF, SANCHES ON

The Frenchman makes way on the hour mark, which is not entirely surprising given that he only recently returned from a long-term injury. Renato Sanches has slotted in a little higher than you might expect, just behind Lewandowski and Müller. Great intensity at the moment.
59'

CHANCES AT BOTH ENDS!

It's really coming to life at the Allianz Arena. First Werner fires a deflected shot over the bar - although it was eventually called back for offside - and then Bayern come close as Lewandowski surges into the area, but Leipzig do enough to clear the danger. End to end stuff.
56'

CLOSE!

Bayern create their first meaningful chance of the half, as Müller manages to spread the ball out wide to Coman before going to ground. The Frenchman rifles a low ball into the area but it's just out of Lewandowski's reach.
54'

SÜLE 2-0 WERNER

So far the Bayern centre-back has had the better of his Germany teammate on two occasions. The two friends - who have played together at national level for years - share a little smile after Süle prevents Werner getting free in the area and the ball rolls out for a goal kick. Nice to see.
52'

LEIPZIG ON TOP

The visitors have dominated the start of this second half, with Bruma and Werner combining nicely after a poor pass out from the back from Süle - it goes for a corner but the hosts get the danger clear. Bayern are struggling to get out of their half at the moment, which is a rare sight at the Allianz Arena.
48'

OOF!

And there's Timo Werner! Kampl does very well to win the ball back for Leipzig high up the pitch, and it falls nicely for the Germany international, who unleashes a vicious half-volley that sails just over Neuer's post. A first warning shot from the visitors in this second period.

THIRD TIME A CHARM?

Bayern have won their two Bundesliga home games against Leipzig fairly comfortably - 3-0 and 2-0 - but it should be pointed out that the visitors had a man sent off in the first half on both occasions. Can Rangnick's side claim a first win over Germany's biggest club in their own back yard? They, Dortmund and Gladbach will certainly be hoping so.

HALF-TIME: BAYERN 0-0 LEIPZIG

You can't take your eyes off it. It hasn't been a spectacular game by any means, but rather an absorbing tactical battle between Niko Kovac and Ralf Rangnick's men. Both sides have hit the post and both sides have defended excellently, with Süle and Upamecano barely giving an inch. It really is anyone's game - join us again in 15 minutes or so to see who blinks first.
43'

WERNER DOWN

We haven't seen much of Timo Werner tonight, and the Leipzig forward is down briefly after being caught by Ribery. It looks like the Germany international is OK to continue - he'll be happy about that, because he's no doubt determined to get his first goal at the Allianz Arena tonight.
41'

UPAMECANO AGAIN

Alaba whips a dangerous ball in from the left but that man Upamecano is there again to scramble it behind for a corner, already Bayern's fourth. Thiago sends it looping in high but it goes out for a goal kick.
36'

CROSSBAR!

And those big defensive lads are pretty handy going forward as well! A corner comes in and Upamecano heads off the crossbar - that's the eighth time this season Leipzig have been denied by the woodwork.
34'

LEIPZIG SOLID AT THE BACK

Leipzig are looking very composed in defence with their all-French centre-back partnership of Upamecano and Konaté. The latter has won eight of his nine challenges so far.
29'

RIBERY ON CLOUD 9?

Ribery has taken up his traditional position on the left wing, with compatriot Kingsley Coman switching out to the right. If Bayern can overhaul Dortmund and win the Bundesliga title this season, the 35-year-old will become the most decorated player of all time with a record nine crowns.
27'

GNABRY INJURED

Bad news for Bayern. Serge Gnabry is down and receiving treatment, and that spells the end of his involvement tonight. Franck Ribery replaces him. I hope he's had a chance to warm up, it's pretty nippy in Munich tonight!
24'

UNBELIEVABLE!

What a save! Lewandowski finds himself one-on-one with Gulacsi after being played onside by Konate, but the Hungarian keeper gets a glove on the Pole's effort - the ball hits the post and spins across the goalline and out for a corner. Scenes.
22'

BRUMA!

Leipzig have their first shot on target of the game, as the Portugal winger picks up the ball on the edge of the area and forces Neuer into a relatively straightforward diving save. Tactically, Ralf Rangnick's side have been spot on so far.
20'

LATEST

It's finely balanced at the moment, with both teams exchanging possession in midfield but unable to really make much impact in the final third. Over the course of the season both Bayern and Leipzig have completed over 80% of their passes, but they're currently hovering at about the 60% mark, which tells a story.
15'

BEATING PETER

Bayern are having a little bit of trouble getting their passing game going at the moment, although they are shading possession by 53% to 47%. The Bavarians have an additional challenge tonight: getting the better of Leipzig keeper Peter Gulacsi, who has kept the most clean sheets in the Bundesliga this term (7) and conceded the fewest goals (14).
12'

BETTER FROM LEIPZIG

The visitors clearly have no intention of sitting back and letting Bayern do their thing here - after a neat passage of play, Kampl gets a ball across for Poulsen, but he can't quite get on the end of it after a tangle with Kimmich. The Denmark forward, Leipzig's record appearance maker, is celebrating his 200th competitive outing for the club tonight.
8'

TEAM NEWS

Bayern are unchanged tonight from their 4-0 win over Hannover this weekend, while Leipzig have made two changes from their 4-1 victory over Mainz, with Bruma and Laimer coming into the starting XI.
6'

LATEST

A lively start from Bayern, who have already seen Hummels head just over from a corner and Kimmich cause a bit of chaos in the Leipzig box with a well-struck free-kick. Konrad Laimer responds with a snapshot for the visitors, but it's comfortably held by Manuel Neuer.
