PHONZY TIME AGAIN!
The Canadian winger is coming on for third Bundesliga appearance.

LATEST
Bayern have been able to calm the game, and the Schalke attack along with it, down to a controllable pace. Chances have come and gone which they should have taken to seal this win, but as time ticks on, it is looking less and less likely that Schalke can conjure up a chance for an equaliser.

LEWANDOWSKI HAS TO SCORE!
It would have been another James assist and another Lewy goal, but the Pole fluffs his lines. Not often you can say that when describing Lewandowski. The Colombian's perfect pass finds him in front of goal and inside the box, but his first-time effort at goal curls wide of the target, much to his own and the entire Allianz Arena's disbelief.

UTH THE LAST HOPE?
The German international forward comes on to replace Kutucu to bring fresh life to the Schalke attack. Bayern are staying calm right now, but it's a difficult scoreline to manage.

SCHALKE STILL PUSHING
The away side are not giving up on this game yet. They have been controlling most of the ball, despite conceding to Gnabry's goal. If another moment of magic can come from a Royal Blue star, as Kutucu did in the first half, then something could be possible.

GNABRY HEADS HOME!
It's a two-goal lead for the home side. Coman shows his pace and talent to beat Caligiuri to the byline before clipping the ball into the box. Lewandowski produces an incredible bicycle-kick to direct the ball towards goal, and Gnabry heads it beyond Fährmann's reach from inside the six-yard box.

MCKENNIE HITS THE POST
Schalke break after a run through the middle from McKennie. The ball is then moved out to Konoplyanka, who cuts inside and shoots at goal. His effort is saved, but the rebound falls to McKennie, but all he can do is hit the post.

TEDESCO HAPPY WITH HIS SIDE'S START
The away side's manager gives a thumbs-up to his men on the pitch for their start to the second half. They're controlling possession well and staying composed.

CALIGIURI TO MISS FREIBURG GAME
Caligiuri's yellow card there for a tug on Thiago means that he'll be suspended for Schalke's game at home to Freiburg next Saturday.
45'
HALF-TIME: BAYERN 2-1 SCHALKE
Well that flew by. Bayern appeared to be totally in control after an early Bruma own goal, but Schalke's equaliser from a lightning counter showed that they are not to be underestimated, even if Lewandowski put the hosts back ahead with his 100th goal at the Allianz Arena. Join us again shortly for what promises to be an unmissable second half!
44'
LEWY ONE SHY OF JOVIC
Robert Lewandowski scored his 13th goal of the season to restore Bayern's lead earlier, putting him one shy of Eintracht Frankfurt's Luka Jovic in the Bundesliga scoring charts.
37'
COMAN HAS A GO
They're queuing up to get goals in this game... Kingsley Coman is the latest man to try his luck, but the Frenchman's rasping drive is deflected out for a corner. Only seven minutes until half-time, we'll be able to catch our breath soon...
36'
KONOPLYANKA!
The Ukrainian gets away down the left and tests Sven Ulreich with a low drive, but Bayern's No.2 keeper is equal to it. End-to-end stuff.
34'
RUDY OFF, MASCARELL ON
Domenico Tedesco has made his first change of the evening with just over half an hour gone, as Omar Mascarell replaces Sebastian Rudy. It appears to be a tactical switch rather than an injury problem - the Schalke boss looks unhappy with his side's lack of impact in the middle.

Substitution
32'
THIAGO OFF THE LINE!
A second foray forward for Schalke and very nearly a second goal... McKennie's header is on target but Thiago sticks out a leg and deflects it over for a corner. This one could end up finishing 8-4 if it carries on like this...
31'
JAMES!
After that brief interlude for Kutucu's goal, we've picked up where we left off at the Allianz Arena. James tries his luck with a trademark curling effort from the edge of the area, but Fährmann pushes it behind for a corner that comes to nothing. A very entertaining game this so far!
28'
TON UP FOR LEWANDOWSKI!
Another mistake from Schalke, another goal for Bayern. Serdar is caught in possession by Gnabry, who feeds James, who squares for Lewandowski to sweep home. That's his 100th goal at the Allianz Arena!
25'
SCHALKE LEVEL - FOR BARELY 90 SECONDS!
Well that wasn't in the script! Schalke come screaming forward on the counter, with Weston McKennie feeding Ahmed Kutucu, and the Turkey youth international scampers away before slamming in for 1-1. But parity doesn't last long, Lewandowski has just restored Bayern's lead...
18'
NEARLY 2-0!
Brilliant play from Lewandowski as he slips a ball through to Gnabry in behind Bruma - but excellent goalkeeping from Fährmann to block the Bayern No.22. At the moment it's more a question of when, not if, the hosts will get their second...
16'
BAYERN DOMINATING
So far it's 71% possession for the hosts, who have had three shots to Schalke's zero. News of that unexpected draw for Dortmund has clearly put the wind in the champions' sails.
12'
BAYERN IN FRONT!
Schalke give the ball away in midfield and Bayern take full advantage! James threads a ball up the middle for Lewandowski, who is under pressure from Sane and Bruma but manages to bundle the ball home for 1-0. It actually looked like an own goal from Bruma on the replay.
9'
LATEST
Schalke finally string a few passes together for the first time all game, but Bayern are soon back in possession. The home midfield trio of Thiago, Goretzka and James are controlling the tempo at the moment.
6'
CLOSE!
The ball looks like it's going to fall nicely for James on the penalty spot, but the Colombian is brilliantly blocked by Oczipka at the last second. Alaba then drills an effort just wide of the post - all Bayern at the moment!
3'
BAYERN ON TOP
Two minutes on the clock and Bayern have a free-kick in a decent position, as James is tripped by McKennie... the Colombian takes it himself but Schalke get the danger clear. A few seconds later Fährmann gathers a straightforward effort from Lewandowski.

BAYERN GET US UNDERWAY
Here we go then. Can Bayern bounce back from last weekend's defeat to Bayer Leverkusen and close the gap on leaders Dortmund?
Kick-off!
NOT TOO MANY CHANGES!
Considering both sides were in DFB Cup action this week - Bayern saw off Hertha Berlin after extra time, while Schalke eased past Fortuna Düsseldorf - their coaches haven't rotated much for this evening's Topspiel. One change for Bayern (Boateng in for Süle) and two for Schalke (Rudy and Konoplyanka in, Matondo and Uth out). We're just a few minutes away from kick-off!
SCHALKE
Fährmann (c) – Caligiuri, Bruma, Sane, Oczipka – Serdar, Rudy, Bentaleb – McKennie – Kutucu, Konoplyanka
BAYERN
Ulreich – Kimmich, Boateng, Hummels, Alaba – Thiago, Goretzka – Gnabry, James, Coman – Lewandowski (c)
