BURGSTALLER HITS IT OVER
McKennie's long throw-in is met by four Leipzig defenders, but none of them are able to clear and the ball falls to Burgstaller in the box. He hits the ball as he's falling and it flies high over the Leipzig crossbar.

82'
POULSEN FIRES OVER
Patient and composed build-up from Leipzig as they work the ball from the left into the middle, and Sabitzer finds Werner on the edge of the box, who flicks a first-time ball to Poulsen. The Dane takes a touch and shoots at goal, but it flies over the crossbar.
78'
HAIDARA ON FOR HIS DEBUT
The 21-year-old midfielder who joined from Red Bull Salzburg in January is finally on to make his Bundesliga debut having suffered from injury when making the move.

SERDAR FIRES WIDE AFTER CLASS FROM MCKENNIE
Outstanding play from McKennie who holds off Halstenberg before flicking the ball over his own head, as well as Laimer and Halstenberg and collecting it in the box. He then lays the ball off to Serdar, but he fires wide of goal.

MCKENNIE HEADS WIDE
The American reaches a cross to the back post and battles to win the header, but can't get it on target. The home side are on top right now though, and the fans are pushing them on to get the crucial second goal in this game.

UTH SO CLOSE AGAIN!
Great work from Serdar to win the ball from Sabitzer as Leipzig looked to break. The midfielder then played in a low cross to the near post and Uth beat Orban to reach it first, clipping the ball towards goal, but putting too much on it and having to watch it drift over the bar.
61'
STEVENS GOING FOR IT
Defensive midfielder off and striker on, with Schalke needing the kick into gear in this second half. It's been a slow start to them since the break, and having started the game so well, they'll feel they deserve at least one goal today.

Substitution
55'
FIELD GOAL FOR SABITZER
A low cross to the near post is blocked by the Schalke defence, but it falls loose for Sabitzer to shoot at goal but he sends his effort high over the crossbar. In another sport, it might have been rewarded with three points...
48'
EMBOLO MAKES GULACSI SAVE
A great run from Oczipka into the box then sees the ball runs loose to Embolo, who controls and shoots low at the near post. Gulacsi is on hand to make the save low down, though.
48'
NO CHANGES AT THE BREAK
Both sides come out for the second half as they had gone in for the break.
Kick-off!
Half-time
45'
A GAME OF CHANCES MISSED
Schalke's defending helped Leipzig take the lead, but both sides have had a number of chances to score already in this game. Mark Uth will be particularly annoyed to have not scored once, while Sabitzer, Forsberg and Kampl have all stung the gloves of Alexander Nübel. A fascinating second half to come.
45'
FORSBERG FORCES A NÜBEL SAVE
Halstenberg collects the ball from Kampl on the halfway line and makes for the box with a powerful run, beating a couple of defenders on the way. He reaches the Schalke penalty area and cuts the ball back to Forsberg, whose curling shot is saved well by Nübel.
36'
POULSEN CURLS JUST WIDE
BIg chance for the Dane as he opens up his body to shoot at goal with one very aesthetically-pleasing shot at goal, which curls towards the top corner. But it doesn't curl enough in the end, and Schalke breath a sigh of relief.
32'
UTH THROUGH AGAIN!
The German striker is sent through on goal for a second time in the game, and this time the flag stays down. But he fluffs his lines and hits the ball straight at Gulacsi, leaving the Hungarian with a simple save.
27'
END-TO-END ENTERTAINMENT
No chances in the last five minutes, but the ball is going up and down the pitch faster than in most games you'll see in any league. Half chances for both sides, with Rudy and Werner making good runs in behind the opposition's defence, but couldn't be found by either team.
21'
SANE VOLLEYS OVER
Rudy's free-kick drifts into the box and is headed clear by Poulsen, but only into the path of Sane on the edge of the box. The defender sends a well-hit volley at goal, but it's always rising and glides over Gulacsi's goal.
19'
SABITZER GOES CLOSE
Lovely build-up play from Leipzig as Kampl passes to Forsberg, whose flick through his own legs sends Halstenberg away down the left. The full-back sends in a low cross, but Sabitzer hits his shot wide of the mark. Leipzig dominanting here at the moment.
14'
WERNER POKES HOME!
Disappointing for Nübel having made an incredible save from Poulsen's first effort. He tipped the Dane's strike towards the near post onto his own crossbar from Kampl's cut-back, but the ball then bounced back to Werner via Bruma and Serdar failing to clear the ball.
13'
KAMPL TESTS NÜBEL
The first bit of work for the Schalke goalkeeper as Forsberg's through ball into the box is deflected to Kampl, who curls a shot straight into the hands of the young German.
11'
LEIPZIG IN CONTROL OF THE BALL
The away side are now taking control of the ball here. The atmosphere is still outstanding in the Veltins Arena, which must be such a difference-maker for the players on the pitch. Schalke's good start being slightly nulified on the pitch, but still an open game.
6'
SCHALKE STARTING SUPERBLY
The atmosphere is incredible, and Schalke are running for every ball in these opening minutes. A very intense start from the home side who have had a couple of half-chances around the Leipzig box since Uth had the ball in the net. They'll be looking to maintain some of this early pressure as long as they can.
2'
UTH SCORES... BUT HE'S OFFSIDE
Mark Uth has the ball in the Leipzig net, but he was offside after being sent through on goal. A good start for the home side, though.

UNDERWAY IN GELSENKIRCHEN
The game is underway here, let's see what the Bundesliga has to offer us today...
Kick-off!
WHAT IT ALL MEANS
Schalke are still fighting for their Bundesliga security, sitting just four points above VfB Stuttgart in the relegation play-off spot. Any points at this stage of the season are vital for them. While RB Leipzig can go into third place with a win, which would take them above Borussia Mönchengladbach.
UTH AND RUDY TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE?
Mark Uth and Sebastian Rudy have come into the starting line-up in attack and midfield, bringing further experience for Huub Stevens' first team selection. Alexander Nübel also retains his place in goal ahead of Ralf Fährmann.
FORSBERG RETURNS
The Sweedish midfielder's return from a long-term injury at the start of the season has been slow, but he is now back in the starting line-up for the first time since Matchday 22. A boost for Leipzig, who also see Poulsen return to the starting line-up.
