HERTHA HOLD BAYERN ON OPENING NIGHT!

Robert Lewandowski struck twice and Bayern Munich nemesis Dodi Lukebakio marked his Hertha Berlin debut with a goal in a pulsating opening-night draw at the Allianz Arena. Marko Grujic put the away side ahead in the first half, but gave away a penalty in the second half for Bayern to draw level before the end. A fantastic start to the season, and there's more to come tomorrow and on Sunday!

LEWANDOWSKI GOES CLOSE!

His header from a corner goes wide of Hertha's goal and that's full-time...

ADDED TIME!

We'll have three minutes of added time here in the second half.

GNABRY FIRES OVER

The German winger is in behind the Hertha defence again on the right corner of the box, but fires his shot over the crossbar as he aimed for the far top corner.
80'

INTO THE FINAL 10 MINUTES...

The chances have dried up in recent minutes, but Bayern look the most likely to get a goal should another come in the final stages. They've had seven corners to zero for Hertha.
77'

A DUD FROM DUDA

Hertha's No.10 hits the wall from the free-kick before slicing the rebound wide on the volley.
76'

CHANCE FOR HERTHA COMING...

Pavard concedes a free-kick on the edge of his own box here...
73'

TOLISSO WITH A TRY...

Gnabry once again involved in everything here as his run is found by Kimmich into the box down the right flank. He cuts the ball back to Tolisso on the penalty spot, but the Frenchman fluffs his lines as he fails to connect with his shot and misses the target.
71'

IT'S ON A KNIFE EDGE

While Bayern are controlling the ball and looking to wear down the Hertha defence into conceding a goal, the capital club are looking to work the counter-attack and catch Bayern on the break. With 20 minutes to go, one moment could decide this one...
67'

BAYERN CONTROLLING THE BALL

The home side dominating this game right now and keeping the ball in and around the Hertha box. Desperate defending is required from Covic's side here as Gnabry and Coman look to get in behind with slick and speedy runs.
62'

ALMOST LEWY AGAIN...

Amazing play from Bayern as Süle's pin-point long ball meets Lewandowski on the run perfectly. His touch is out-of-this-world, truly perfect, and allows him to shoot at goal. Niklas Stark is in his way though and blocks his effort.
60'

LEWANDOWSKI BRACE

And Lewandowski sends Jarstein the wrong way with the spot-kick, putting the ball to the left while Jarstein went to the right. Game on here in Munich!
58'

PENALTY BAYERN!

Superb work from the Video Assistant Referee as they spot Marko Grujic pulling down Robert Lewandowski in the Hertha box off the ball. Bayern have a penalty.

SUPERB SERGE!

If you have Serge Gnabry in your Bundesliga Fantasy team, I wouldn't be getting rid of him anytime soon. The German runs 40 yards through the middle of the pitch, but his pass to Coman is lacking. Minutes later, though, he has space 25 yards from goal and sends a powerful strike at goal, forcing a good save from Jarstein. Gnabry the key to Bayern getting back into this game, here.
52'

BIG CHANCE FOR COMAN

The Frenchman is played in behind superbly by Gnabry and he beats the Hertha defence into the box. He closes on goal and goes to shoot, but Jarstein in directly in front of him and blocks his effort. Stark then clears the ball ahead of Lewandowski.
49'

MÜLLER SHOULD SCORE...

The German forward is on the end of a free-kick curled into the box but can't keep his header on target. His blushes are saved by the offside flag, but he'll still be disappointed with his effort there.
46'

BACK UNDERWAY IN MUNICH!

Both sides unchanged at the break, but we're sure the scoreline won't stay the same in this second half...

A FIRST OPENING NIGHT DEFEAT SINCE 2002 FOR BAYERN?

The Bavarians are unbeaten in their last 17 opening weekend fixtures in the Bundesliga, with 14 wins among those. They will need to provide a turnaround here against a defensively stable Hertha side who look deadly on the counter-attack.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

The Bundesliga back with a bang in that first half. Lewandowski opened the scoring with his record-breaking season opener as Bayern looked in total control of proceedings with over 60 per cent of the ball. But Hertha had a plan and until now, it's been executed superbly. Lukebakio's strike deflecting in off Ibisevic before great work from Grujic saw him make it 1-2 just three minutes later. This game could go either way so don't go anywhere...

ADDED TIME

We'll have three minutes of added time here in the first half.

HERTHA'S COUNTER WORKING MAGIC

The long ball is working superbly for the away side here. Utilising the pace of Leckie and Lukebakio in attack, while also getting Ibisevic's strength and experience to hold up the ball. Bayern's defence has struggled in only a couple of moments but have been punished in both.
39'

INCREDIBLE!

Just three minutes after Lukebakio's equaliser and Grujic has put Hertha ahead in Munich. Ibisevic does superbly to bring the ball down on his chest before looking up and spotting the midfielder's run in behind. He takes the ball around Neuer and slots the ball home. He is now down with a head injury which was picked up in the build-up to the goal.

36'

WELL, WELL, WELL!

In his second career game at the Allianz Arena Dodi Lukebakio has his fourth goal against Bayern. He picks up the ball from distance and takes a shot at goal, seeing the ball bounce off the back of strike partner Vedad Ibisevic before bouncing into the Bayern net past Manuel Neuer.

BAYERN FANS LOUD AND PROUD

It's a party atmosphere in Munich with the home side ahead in the first half. Hertha are growing into this game though, not afraid to keep possession. Although, that's easier said than done when Bayern are your opponents at the Bavarians are powering their way through every phase of this game.
27'

BUNDESLIGA RECORD!

Robert Lewandowski just became the first player in Bundesliga history to score in the first game of the season for five years running. The man knows how to create history.
26'

GNABRY TAKES A SHOT...

The right winger has been outstanding in this first half and now has a shot at goal himself. Jarstein is able to parry the ball away and his defence clears the ball from ahead of him after a blocked shot from Lewandowski.
24'

LEWANDOWSKI SCORES!

He'd been on fire since kick-off and now Gnabry has an assist as he is found down the right wing and plays a perfect low cross to the back post of Hertha's goal where Lewandowski slides in to poke the ball into Hertha's net for the first goal of the 2019/20 season.
22'

BAYERN'S BALL FOR NOW

The home side have controlled 60 per cent of possession in the opening 23 minutes here. Chances have not been clear-cut for Bayern, but they are keeping Hertha's talented attack at bay as well as staying in control of the game.
17'

DARIDA BOOKED

First caution of the game for the Hertha midfielder who brings down Coman on a counter-attack.
14'

CHANCES GALORE HERE!

At one end Duda's flick to Ibisevic almost allows him a shot on target, but Pavard is there to clear the ball away. The ball immediately goes up the other end and Jarstein has to palm away a low cross from Gnabry, and it's clear at the second time of asking by Klünter.
11'

LEWANDOWSKI DOWN...

Gnabry finds Lewandowski and plays him in one-on-one. He controls the ball but takes his time and is caught by Klünter - the fastest man in the Bundesliga last season - who clears the ball away while catching Lewandowski's face with his shoulder. No caution for the Hertha defender.
8'

IBISEVIC HAS A GO...

The Hertha captain has the first shot at goal for the away side as he cuts onto his right foot from the edge of the box. His strike is a simple one for Neuer to control though.
7'

MÜLLER FIRES WIDE

Gnabry is making things tick in attack for Bayern as he lays off the ball once again for another Bayern shot on goal. This time it's Müller who wraps his foot around the ball, but his effort is dragged wide of Jarstein's goal.
4'

FIRST SHOT ON GOAL

The home side get the first chance of the game has Gnabry skips past a defender on the right side of the Hertha box, before looking up and passing to Thiago on the edge of the box. The Spaniard curls a shot at goal but it's simple of Jarstein to handle.
3'

THREE-MAN DEFENCE FOR HERTHA

The away side set up with Klünter, Stark and Rekik as their backline early on here in Munich. An attacking formation for the visitors.

WERE UNDERWAY!

The first match of the 2019/20 Bundesliga season is underway in Munich. We're back!
Kick-off!

HERE WE GO!

The players are coming out and the ceremony to begin the new season is about to begin. The German national anthem will be sung and then we'll be ready to kick-off 2019/20! FINALLY!

LUKEBAKIO BACK AT HIS FAVOURITE HOME?

Dodi Lukebakio has scored one Bundesliga hat-trick in his short career in Germany to date. It came at the Allianz Arena, against Bayern, and now he's back for more in different colours. Can he repeat what must be one of the best days of his career?

LEWYS HERTHA VOODOO...

The goalscoring machine that is Robert Lewandowski is very rarely stopped by any team from finding the back of the net. Yet, in his last five matches against Hertha at the Allianz Arena, the Polish forward has been suffering some capital punishment. 5 games, 0 goals and 0 assists. Can he kick-start the 2019/20 season by breaking his bad luck run?

NO GORETZKA, LUKEBAKIO STARTS

Leon Goretzka has suffered from a late training injury and misses the opening game of the season due to a thigh problem. But Bayern do start one new signing, Benjamin Pavard partnering Niklas Süle in defence. Lucas Hernandez can make his Bundesliga debut from the bench. For Hertha, Dodi Lukebakio indeed starts in a three-man attack, while Mathew Leckie is preferred to Salomon Kalou.

MORE MÜLLER MAGIC?

Thomas Müller has scored the opening goal of a Bundesliga season a record three times in 2010, 2014 and 2018. Clearly running in four-year cycles, will Müller break the mould and scored the opening in 2019?

NEW SIGNINGS TO START?

Both Bayern and Hertha have had busy summers in the transfer market and some of the new faces in red and blue will be involved tonight. It looks likely that Benjamin Pavard will start tonight in defence, while Lucas Hernandez may miss out as he nears full fitness following his knee surgery over the summer. Ivan Perisic is suspended, though. While Hertha can start Dodi Lukebakio in attack, the man who haunted Bayern at the Allianz Arena last season with the only hat-trick scored past Manuel Neuer in Bundesliga history.

STARTING IN BAYERN STYLE

Having won each of the last seven Bundesliga titles, Bayern have become used to opening the season at the Allianz Arena, and doing it well. In fact, the reigning champions have not lost on Matchday 1 since 2002, with 14 wins and 3 draws. However, Hertha have also won each of their last four opening fixtures which is a club record.
