In the end probably a fair result, given how outrageously Augsburg dominated the first half. The hosts didn't take their chances though, with Florian Niederlechner seeing a penalty saved by the excellent Timo Horn. Cologne improved after the break, but it wasn't until late in the day that substitute Anthony Modeste finally broke the deadlock, before Philipp Max rescued a deserved point for Augsburg. Both sides creep a little closer to safety.

Augsburg have beaten Cologne on their last two trips to the WWK Arena, with Finnbogason hitting a hat-trick on their last visit (a 3-0 victory in September 2017).
