LEWANDOWSKI AND COUTINHO SINK BAYERN

A perfect day for the pair as Lewandowski added another two to his season tally, making in 9 goals in just 5 matches. He then handed Coutinho the chance to score his first Bundesliga goal from the spot, which the Brazilian duly took. It could have been different in the first half with a spirited Cologne side showing fight until the end.

STUNNING SAVE FROM NEUER!

Czichos powers forward on a counter-attack with options ahead of him. But the centre-back goes for goal on his own and it's bound for the bottom corner, but Neuer produces a world-class save to keep his clean sheet intact.

BAYERN IN CONTROL UNTIL THE END HERE

The home side are still pushing forward for another, with Cuisance, Coutinho and Müller all working hard to create something late on and make it five.
80'

COUTINHO TO MÜLLER...

The pair combine as Coutinho dinks a delightful ball over the Cologne defence for his German teammate, but his left-footed volley goes high over the crossbar.
77'

TERODDE HAS A GO

More fantastic play from Hector in an advanced position as he receives the ball on the edge of the box, turning and playing it to Terodde immediately. He then turns and shoots, only for his effort to be blocked.
75'

BAYERN CLOSE TO ANOTHER

The home side pouring forward here and Tolisso's lovely lofted pass into the box almost picks out Hernandez, but he just can't get on the end of it to potentially but the ball across goal for a tap-in...
73'

SUPERB STRIKE FROM PERISIC

The Croatian is played in by Coutinho down the left and bears down on goal. He looks up and fires the ball into the far bottom corner with a left-footed rocket. A great strike which will seal the win here for Bayern.

LEWY AND KIMMICH COME OFF

The pair who have combined for two goals in today's game come off, replaced by Thomas Müller and Michael Cuisance for Bayern's final changes of the game.
68'

CORDOBA SLICES WIDE

Great work from Hector to keep the ball and get into the Bayern box. Drexler goes for a shot and it's deflected to Cordoba, but he slices his effort wide.
68'

NEUER FORCED TO CLEAR

Hector's in-swinging corner forces Neuer to punch the ball away from his far post. The away side still pushing on and causing problems to Bayern, despite being down to 10 men. They have no desire to give up on this game right now.
64'

KIMMICH HITS THE POST!

He receives the ball from Coutinho's short corner and at first looks to swing in a cross. He realises he has plenty of space to go forward again, and in the end decides to shoot at goal from 25 yards. His curling effort beats Horn but bounces back out off the far post.
64'

MORE GOALS COULD BE COMING HERE

Despite being down a man, Cologne are still pushing forward which is leaving them open to a potential counter-attack. The home side looking to make the most of the opportunity here.
62'

COUTINHO SCORES (AGAIN)!

The Brazilian now officially has his first Bundesliga goal. He went right with his first effort and this time shoots to the left, sending Horn the wrong way on both occasions.

COUTINHO TO RE-TAKE

The Brazilian slotted home his penalty, but players had encroached the penalty area and we'll have a re-take.
59'

BAYERN PENALTY!

Philippe Coutinho is in one-on-one with Horn but is brought down by Ehizibue and a penalty is given and the defender is sent off.
58'

BAYERN TAKING CONTROL HERE

Cologne's pressing from the first half has not continued into the second half here so far. Bayern controlling the ball and dictating the tempo, with the away side still looking to play when they can, however it's the home side now looking on top.
53'

LEWANDOWSKI HUNTING A HUGE RECORD

Robert Lewandowski has already scored nine goals after five matches; a feat so far only once done before in Bundesliga history, by Borussia Mönchengladbach's Peter Meyer (52 years ago in the 1967/68 season).
48'

OF COURSE IT'S THAT MAN AGAIN

It's the Kimmich-Lewandowski combination again as Kimmich's corner swings in and meets the head of Lewandowski, and goes into the bottom corner. His 9th goal in the first five matches of the season - absolutely incredible.
48'

GNABRY GOES CLOSE

Another lovely run from the winger as he brings the ball inside from the right flank. Exchanging passes with Lewandowski, he's able to turn and shoot at goal, but the Cologne defence stands firm
46'

BACK UNDERWAY

No changes at the break, but Cologne are immediately attacking and showing no signs of a change in mindset here.

FANTASTIC FIRST HALF IN MUNICH

The defending champions are being made to work very, very hard for their lead against Cologne, which came early on. Lewandowski beating the defence to reach Kimmich's pass and a deflection helped him find the net. Since then, though, Cologne can certainly be seen as the better side. Only seven attempts on goal to Bayern's 10, but the away side have won the ball in the Bayern half on so many occasions. Neuer has now been tested, and the Billy Goats will want a repeat in the second half.

LEWANDOWSKI SO CLOSE TO A SECOND!

What a pass from Coutinho, using the outside of his foot to beat the Cologne defence and play Lewandowski in on goal. He rounds Horn, but is at a tight-angle with defenders on the line in his way. He goes for a chip, but can only find the roof of the Cologne net.

EXHILARATING END TO THIS HALF

Cologne are playing incredibly well here and have dominated Bayern for the last 10-15 minutes. Pressing for their lives and winning the ball back on numerous occasions in the Bayern half. Meanwhile, the home side's attack are still threatening with Coutinho pulling the strings. It's become really end-to-end to finish the first period.
45'

GNABRY SO CLOSE!

Perisic plays an outstanding pass into the box after spotting Gnabry's run from right to left. The German gets to the ball ahead of Horn, but can't keep it in play.
44'

COLOGNE ON THE BREAK...

Cordoba is sent away on a promising counter-attack and looks for a teammate in the middle, but can't find one...
41'

NEUER DROPS KAINZ'S FREE-KICK

He smashes the set-piece towards goal from 30 yards and Neuer can't keep hold of it as he dives to his right. The Bayern defence are able to clear, but Cologne maintain the attack and are in control here.
40'

ALMOST FOR DREXLER!

Kainz's cross curls into the box and almost dips perfectly to meet Drexler's run, but it bounces between Neuer and the Cologne man. The away side well on top here as we come towards the end of the first half.
39'

COLOGNE COME FORWARD AGAIN

Ehizibue plays Schindler down the right and he whips in a great cross towards Cordoba. His touch is perfect and allows him to turn and shoot at goal, with a deflection forcing it wide.
37'

CORDOBA GOES FOR GOAL!

A great effort from the Colombian after being sent forward with a pass from the Cologne midfield. He has four Bayern defenders in front of him but does well to create space for a shot. It curls towards the far top corner, but drifts just wide of goal in the end.
35'

SO COOL FROM COUTINHO

Lovely work from the Brazilian who produces some samba football as he runs at the Cologne defence. Shoulder faints and step-overs send the defenders any which way and then he picks out a perfect pass to Perisic's feet. He smashes a shot at the near post, but can only find the side-netting.
29'

COLOGNE NEED TO MAKE MORE OF WHAT THEY GET

The away side are doing so well in winning the ball back and beating Bayern in the challenges on the pitch, winning a lot of the individual battles so far. However when the ball goes forward for them, no chances on goal are being created. Neuer remains untested, and Cologne need to change that if they want something here.
23'

COLOGNE WORKING HARD HERE

It's been a great effort from the away side to win the ball back and keep it themselves. They've only had 62 per cent of the ball so far, but are certainly proving to be difficult opponents to break down for Bayern.
21'

GNABRY CAUSING PROBLEMS

Again the Bayern forward is providing some magic as he dances his way forward, inside and out of Hector as he reaches the Cologne box. His shot is deflected over the Cologne crossbar, but it's another warning side for the visitors.
17'

PERISIC SHOT BLOCKED

The Croatian battles his way past Bornauw and gets a shot away at goal, but the Cologne defence block it well in the end.
14'

COUTINHO HITS THE POST!

A stunning free-kick from the Brazilian. He curls the ball from the left corner of the box towards the near post, away from Horn who had set up at the other side of the goal. It curls beyond him, but cannons back out off the post.
9'

COLOGNE NOT SHY TO PLAY EITHER

Ehizibue goes on a great run down the right before exchanging a one-two with Schindler into the box. The away side are not shying away from this game at all, even after going a goal behind. They are pressing hard when Bayern reach the halfway line and making life difficult for the home side.
7'

THIRD MINUTE IS THE CHARM

For the second week in a row - just as he did at Leipzig - Lewandowski has opened the scoring today. In doing so, he's scored in each of the first games of a Bundesliga season for the first time in his career.
5'

GNABRY ON FIRE

The German forward has another hair-do on show today, and it's doing the trick for him so far. Once again he powers forward from a deep position and forces the Cologne defence to work hard in stopping his tracks.
3'

LEWANDOWSKI AGAIN!

Of course, it could only have been Lewandowski. A break in midfield as Kimmich wins possession in the Cologne half and brings the ball forward. He plays in Lewandowski, with a clean run at goal and - with the help of a deflection over Horn - puts Bayern ahead. His 8th goal in just over four games.
2'

PAVARD WITH THE FIRST EFFORT

Gnabry brings the ball across the pitch and plays Pavard in down the right. He goes for goal with a powerful shot from the corner of the box, but drags his effort wide of the market.

Kick-off!

KICK-OFF COMING UP

The players are in the tunnel and we're almost ready for kick-off here. The home support providing a big choreography for the start of Oktoberfest season in Munich.

GNABRY LOVES FACING THE GOATS

Bayern's chef connoisseur has been cooking up a storm against Cologne in his career against them. In three appearances vs. Cologne, Gnabry has scored four goals. Another to come today?

DONT SLEEP ON THE COLOGNE ATTACK

It may only be one man leading the Cologne attack this afternoon in Munich, but it's the ideal man for this game vs. Bayern. Jhon Cordoba  has scored in two of his three Bundesliga matches against Bayern and will be going all out for another today.

LEWANDOWSKI HUNTING MORE RECORDS

If Lewandowski scores today against Cologne, he will be the first Bayern player since Carsten Jancker in the 2000/01 campaign to find the target in each of the first five games of a Bundesliga season. His record of seven goals in the opening four matches is his best-ever return.

COLOGNE DEFENDING FIRST

Anthony Modeste and Simon Terodde are on the bench for Cologne as the Billy Goats begin today with just one striker. It looks like a 4-5-1 formation, with Kingsley Schindler on one wing and Florian Kainz on the other. Cologne will look to the experience of Timo Horn and Jonas Hector to stand up in a game like this.

COUTINHO IN OKTOBERFEST FEVER

The Brazilian international is the preferred option for Kovac in the No.10 role today, with Thomas Müller on the bench. Ivan Perisic is also preferred to Kingsley Coman on the left wing, supporting Robert Lewandowski in attack. Lucas Hernandez resumes his role at left-back with David Alaba injured, while Jerome Boateng starts in the middle of defence.
