DORTMUND BEAT LEAGUE LEADERS GLADBACH

The side had the ball in the Gladbach net on three occasions, but only one counted and it was enough for all three points. Hazard came to play against his former club and made the crucial assist for Reus' winner. The away side remain top of the table despite the defeat, while BVB close the gap to just one point. Incredibly, just two points separate 9th and 1st in the Bundesliga as things stand.

ALL IN THE DORTMUND HALF

The ball is camped in the Dortmund half right now with Gladbach pressing hard for a goal. The home side unable to get out without a long ball forward.

ADDED TIME!

We'll have six minutes of added time here in Dortmund.
89'

HUGE SAVE FROM HITZ!

Incredible! An outstanding low cross from Lainer goes across the face of goal to the back post. Witsel gets a touch to it, but the ball goes towards his own goal and Neuhaus is able to poke it at goal. Hitz moves across to make a stunning save with his feet before being clattered into by Witsel and Neuhaus in a pile-up on the goal-line.

DORTMUND ON TOP

The home side are handling this situation well, keeping on the attack and looking for a second goal to seal the win. But Gladbach are looking to exploit the counter-attack.
85'

GOOO... NO!

Brandt thinks he's scored what would have surely been the winning goal, but offside is given. Hakimi had cut the ball back for Brandt to shoot at goal, but Reus' run took him in front of Sommer and offside. Although he didn't touch the ball, Reus is judged to have obstructed Sommer's view while being offisde.
82'

BRANDT FORCES A SAVE

Great work from Sommer who is quick off his line to block Brandt's attempt. The midfielder was played in behind by Hazard, but the Gladbach shot-stopper quickly closed the gap to keep the score at just 1-0.
78'

STINDL COMEBACK

Lars Stindl is back and makes his first appearance of the season, coming on for the final 12 minutes or so here.

KRAMER WITH A VOLLEY

A set-piece is clipped to the edge of the box from the left wing for Gladbach and Kramer is there to meet it. He lines up the volley and goes for goal, but his effort hits the ground and bounces past the post.
75'

FINAL 15 MINUTES!

Gladbach have failed to score in only one game so far this season, and that was on the opening weekend of the season against Schalke. Will Dortmund hold their attack today, or will we see more late drama?
72'

HUGE CHANCE FOR HERRMANN!

Thuram is played in behind the Dortmund defence down the left side of the box. He cuts the ball back into the middle beyond Hitz and Herrmann is there to meet it. However, under the challenge of Hummels he can't keep the ball on target. A huge intervention from Hummels.
69'

BÜRKI DOWN

Dortmund's No.1 is going to have to come off here after taking a knock while punching a corner clear. He'll be replaced by Marwin Hitz.
62'

REUS JUST LOVES PLAYING THE FOALS

Dortmund's captain has scored in each of his last five meetings vs. Gladbach, and his ninth goal in total against his former club.
58'

REUS DOES THE BUSINESS

This time it does count and Dortmund take the lead. Hazard is the provider, found by Brandt in the middle of the pitch and in far too much space. He plays a perfect pass for Reus to reach in the Gladbach box, and the captain clips the ball past the reach of Sommer.

BRANDT AGAIN!

Fantastic interplay again with Hazard at the centre of it. His pass sends Reus away down the left, who finds Brandt in the box. The German can only find the side-netting with his clipped effort, but the flag is raised anyway with Reus offside.
52'

TAME FROM HAKIMI

More great work from Hazard who cuts inside from the left flank and across the edge of the Gladbach box. His shot is blocked, but drops for Hakimi, but the full-back - playing on the wing today - can only send a simple shot at goal for Sommer to save.
51'

BRANDT FIRES OVER!

Tricky interplay from the home side on the edge of the Gladbach box. Hazard collects the ball and shoots at goal, but his effort is blocked. The ball comes back to Brandt but the young German leans too far back and fires the ball high over the crossbar.

SECOND HALF BEGINS

We're back underway in Dortmund for the second half with no changes at the break.

HAZARD MOMENT RULED OUT

Dortmund would have been in the lead if not for a VAR intervention. The Belgian's strike ruled out for offside in what was the biggest opening for the home side in the first half. The away side had stood firm before then and were happy on the ball, too. It will be fascinating to see who comes out on top with 45 minutes still to play...

REUS AND WITSEL SHOTS BLOCKED

The Gladbach defence standing firm once again, blocking shots from Reus and Witsel from inside the Foals' box. Dortmund attacking well in this first half forcing Gladbach to make crucial blocks, even without a true striker on the pitch.
41'

BÜRKI THE SAVIOUR AGAIN!

A failed back-pass from Akanji is intercepted by Embolo, who tries to clip the ball past Bürki, but his Swiss countryman clips the ball away from the Gladbach striker who stays down under the challenge. Fantastic goalkeeping to clear that one away.
34'

NO GOAL!

Hazard's goal has been ruled out after Video Assist showed that Marco Reus was offside in the build-up play. His first goal for BVB is chalked off.

WHAT A HIT FROM HAZARD

The Belgian scores his first goal for Borussia Dortmund and it comes against his former club. He's found on the right side of the Gladbach box and fires a shot at goal, which is slightly deflected before reaching Sommer, who should do better as the ball goes through his hands.
32'

WHAT A HEADER, WHAT A SAVE

Hummels meets Hazard's corner and sends the ball towards goal with his head, only to see Sommer produce a blinding save onto his own crossbar before the ball is cleared.
30'

EMBOLO VS. BÜRKI

Embolo is played in behind by Thuram and only has Bürki to beat. He goes to take the ball around the Dortmund goalkeeper, but Bürki makes a superb tackle to push the ball away.
27'

REUS ROLLING

The Dortmund captain is finding his groove. He makes a run into the box which is met by Hazard's cross from the right flank. He beats one defender before attempting to clip the ball past Sommer, but the Swiss shot-stopper and his defence make the block.
26'

LAINER FORCS A BIG SAVE

More set-piece trouble for Dortmund as a Gladbach free-kick swings to the back post of the BVB box. Lainer is on the end of it and smashes a volley at goal, but Bürki stays big at his back post to parry the ball away.
22'

THE GLADBACH MACHINE STARTING WELL

Dortmund's passing game is struggling to break through the midfield here. Gladbach's shape is holding superbly and causing Dortmund to go back in the hope of getting forward.
18'

EMBOLO LURKING

Lovely build-up play from the away side as Benes clips the ball towards Wendt down the left. His cross is met by Embolo, but his header ahead of Hummels drifts over Bürki's goal.
11'

SOMMER SAVES FROM BRANDT

Reus plays a lovely ball through for Brandt on the left and he goes for goal with a first-time hit. It's saved by Sommer, but needs the help of his defence to clear it ahead of the BVB attack.
11'

EVEN BATTLE SO FAR

Nothing to separate these sides through the opening 10 minutes. Both have had chances, both enjoying possession - Gladbach more so, with Dortmund looking to counter - and both defending well so far.
7'

HAZARD HAS A GO

The home fans rise from their seats in anticipation as Reus finds Hazard on the left side of the box. He cuts onto his right foot, but his shot is deflected past the near post.
5'

GLADBACH WITH THE FIRST CHANCE

Benes' corner isn't dealt with and it's headed towards goal by a Gladbach man. The ball is deflected off Tony Jantschke's head, but is blocked by Marco Reus who happened to be in the right place at the right time to intervene.

DORTMUND LINE-UP

Now we see it on the pitch, this is how the home side are lining up tonight: Burki - Akanji, Weigl, Hummels, Schulz - Witsel, Delaney - Hakimi, Reus, Hazard - Brandt

Kick-off!

THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!

It's the league leaders visiting last season's runners-up in what should be an instant classic. They have been in recent years between these two sides, and the same again is on the menu tonight! Sit back, relax and enjoy what should be a Bundesliga belter.

HAZARD VS. GLADBACH

Thorgan Hazard faces his former side for the first time since leaving Mönchengladbach for Dortmund this summer. The Belgian scored 31 goals and provided 36 assists in 147 Bundesliga games for the Foals.

BIG INCENTIVE FOR GLADBACH

After the results earlier today, Borussia Mönchengladbach can go three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table ahead of Wolfsburg in second and Bayern Munich in third.

LAINER FIT TO START

Big news for Gladbach that Stefan Lainer is able to start. He went off injured in the club's last fixture before the international break, but is able to play today. Christoph Kramer comes into the midfield alongside Laszlo Benes and Denis Zakaria, while Breel Embolo is preferred to Patrick Herrmann in attack.

SANCHO NOT INVOLVED

Dortmund's English teenager has been left out of the squad today due to disciplinary measures, according to BVB's Twitter account. In his place, it looks like BVB will line-up with a 4-3-3, including Julian Weigl, Thomas Delaney and Axel Witsel in the midfield.
