LIMPING OFF

Kruse is coming off here with what looks to be an injury to his right knee. Matters get worse for Union.

KRUSE DOWN

A late challenge from Stark on Kruse and the Union forward is down here and it does not look good. He's clutching his right leg.
90'

CLASS FROM DILROSUN

The Dutchman skins Friedrich into the Union box but can't get his shot away clearly on goal. A lovely piece of dribbling from the winger there.

WHAT A HIT FROM PIATEK!

The substitute decides to go for goal from all of 30 yards with a thunderous hit which moves in the air on its way to the Union goal. Luthe does superbly to tip it over his own crossbar and deny Piatek a hat-trick.

CUNHA BOOKED

A challenge on Trimmel earns him a yellow card, his fifth of the season which means he will miss the trip to Borussia Mönchengladbach next week.

FAMILY AFFAIR

With both of them on from the bench, Sheraldo Becker and Javairo Dilrosun - who are cousins - are facing each other for the first time in the Bundesliga.
83'

DOUBLE CHANGE

Too little too late? An injection of pace into attack as Becker and Teuchert are on for Prömel and Ryerson.

PERFECT PIATEK!

Two scrappy goals, but you have to score them. Four of Piatek's six Bundesliga goals have come as a super-sub.
77'

DILROSUN AND PIATEK AGAIN!

Hertha have their second goal in the space of three minutes to put the champagne on ice. It's scrappy again, as Dilrosun's ball to the edge of the Union box misses Piatek but is deflected back to him off Ryerson. He reacts superbly to smash a volley home past Luthe into the bottom right-hand corner. A big night for the Pole!

HOW DO UNION RESPOND?

If Union push on to search for an equaliser it could leave them open at the back. It will be interesting to see how these final 15 minutes or so unfold, with Marius Bülter ready on the sidelines as well as Niko Gießelmann.
74'

PIATEK HAS HERTHA AHEAD!

The game has been turned around by Hertha through Piatek! Dilrosun is found on the left and he beats Trimmel before crossing low towards the penalty spot. Piatek controls it well and finds space for a shot, which deflects off Friedrich and bounces beyond Luthe and into the back of the net.

NOT GIVING UP

Union have won over 60% of the challenges contested in the second half so far.
66'

STAYING PATIENT

Hertha are struggling to find gaps in the Union defence now since Griesbeck's introduction, but they are also not forcing the ball forward. Hertha are staying patient and probing out wide with Dilrosun and Lukebakio. It's all going one-way here.
64'

LENZ BOOKED

A fourth yellow card for Union to go with Andrich's red card and this is for a foul on the near side on Pekarik.
60'

HERTHA ON TOP

While Hertha have controlled the ball, Union's press is causing more problems to Hertha's build-up play.

UNION PRESSING HIGHER

Since conceding their lead, Union have pushed a touch higher up the pitch. Hertha are still dominating the possession but Union less happy to sit back and defend now.
54'

EARLY CHANGE

The scorer of Union's goal is off, with Awoniyi replaced by Griesbeck as Fischer looks to bring a touch more stability.
52'

RYERSON INTO THE BOOK

A challenge on Luekbakio as he looked to break again for the home side.
51'

HERTHA LEVEL!

It's come early for Hertha and they are level against the 10 men of Union. Cunha dribbles towards the Union box and shoots from range. Luthe can only parry the ball wide, but Pekarik is perfectly placed to get onto the rebound and smash it home.

ADDED TIME

We're now into three minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.
45'

LUKEBAKIO NOT FAR AWAY

Darida's shot is deflected to Lukebakio in front of goal, but the ball bounces off him and past Luthe in front of the Union goal. It's a golden opportunity, but Ryerson does fantastically to be alive to react ahead of Lukebakio and clear the ball.
43'

KRUSE LASHES WIDE

Union do well to break with Awoniyi and recycle the possession after the attack is slowed down. The ball is played across to the left where Kruse is waiting, but his first-time volley is almost hit too well as it flies past the crossbar.
40'

LUKEBAKIO WITH THE HEADER!

Cunha curls in another superb cross, this time from a corner, and it reaches Lukebakio. His jump is mistimed, though, and the Belgian's header is an easy one for Luthe to handle.
camera-photo

APPROACHING THE BREAK

Union are one goal up, but one man down...
36'

TRIMMEL BOOKED

A tactical foul from the Union captain to bring down Lukebakio with space ahead of him.
33'

CORKER FROM CUNHA!

What a fantastic cross from the Brazilian after a short corner. His ball in bounces in the six-yard box with the Union defence and Luthe in goal undecided in who should clear it. Lukebakio is lurking, but in the end, the ball bounces out for a corner kick with a touch on the way.
30'

SEARCHING FOR A SECOND GEAR

The ball is almost entirely Hertha's here since Andrich's red card, but the home side are lacking some cutting-edge when pushing the ball forward. With Cunha and Lukebakio both playing through the middle, there's a lack of options out wide.

Tousart goes to head the ball and Andrich has his foot raised as they meet. Video-Assist will take a look.
20'

AWONIYI WITH THE PERFECT TOUCH!

The Union man breaks the deadlock for the visitors. Lenz plays a nice ball forward to Ingvartsen, who does superbly to keep the ball away from Torunarigha before sending Awoniyi into the box between Boyata and Guendouzi. Awoniyi is forced to shoot first-time across goal with his left and Schwolow can only get a finger-tip on it, which is not enough to keep it from finding the bottom corner.

NEITHER WANT TO MAKE MISTAKES

We're waiting for a moment of brilliance or a mistake to spark this game into life. Hertha's press is working superbly to force Union to play the ball long. Meanwhile, Union's shape and structure is allowing no space for Hertha to get the ball into Lukebakio and Cunha. Defence winning the day so far.
16'

CLOSEST WE'VE COME

Cunha's free-kick from the left is curled towards the near post and Guendouzi flicks it towards goal. There's another deflection along the way which takes the sting out of the ball, and Luthe can handle that one with ease.

GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

12'

CROWDING MIDFIELD

Tousart, Stark and Guendouzi are forming a straight line across Hertha's midfield, behind Darida in as a No.10. Attempting to provide as little space as possible for Kruse. So far it's working well.
9'

HERTHA BOOST

Jordan Torunarigha is back in the Hertha defence for the first time in over two months tonight, partnering captain Dedryck Boyata.
6'

HERTHA ON THE BALL

The home side are enjoying most of the early possession here in their own defence and as soon as they attempt to push it forward, Union's press swarms to the ball making life incredibly difficult for Hertha to build any attacks. Early days, but this already has a derby feel.
4'

HOW UNION LINE-UP

We'd touted Julian Ryerson to play on the right wing tonight but the versatile Norwegian is actually in at centre-back. Here's how Union line up: Luthe - Friedrich, Knoche, Ryerson - Trimmel, Andrich, Prömel, Lenz - Ingvartsen, Kruse - Awoniyi
2'

INTENSE START

A late challenge comes in early on from Andrich on Guendouzi. His first experience of the Berlin derby, of course, the man on loan from Arsenal for Hertha.

HERE WE GO!

The ball is rolling in Berlin for this huge game to kick-start the weekend's action.
Kick-off!

MOMENT'S SILENCE

Both sets of players meet around the centre-circle to honour the memory of former Hertha president, Heinz Warneke, who passed away this week.

HERE COMES KICK-OFF...

It's just five minutes until the first Berlin derby of 2020/21 gets underway at the Olympiastadion. An out-of-sorts Hertha against an in-form Union battling it out for the bragging rights of Germany's capital city. Let's get ready to rumble.

KEYS TO UNION VICTORY...

Union have scored a league-high 45 percent of their goals this season from headers (five out of 11). This season, only Robert Lewandowski (16) and Erling Haaland (12) have been involved in more Bundesliga goals than Kruse (11), who has also only lost one of his 12 previous games against Hertha. Union are unbeaten in their last 12 games against teams in the lower half of the table (six wins, six draws).

CAN HERTHA DEFEND HOME?

Cunha has scored three goals across his last two home games. Hertha, however, have the worst home record in the league this season, with just one point from a possible 12.

UNION TEAM NEWS

Urs Fischer's men have won three of their last four and are unbeaten away so far this term (W2, D2). Christian Gentner, Joel Pohjanpalo, Nico Schlotterbeck and Anthony Ujah are definite absentees this weekend, but Keita Endo has earned a place on the bench. Not that Fischer tinkers with his iron-clad formula too much, with only Julian Ryerson in for Sheraldo Becker, as Hertha go in search of their first Bundesliga win at home to their capital rivals.

HERTHA TEAM NEWS

An encouraging 0-0 draw at Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 9 means Hertha have lost just one of their last four in the league (W1, D2, L1), and with the exceptions of Jhon Cordoba and Santiago Ascacibar, Labbadia has a near full-strength side to pick from. Dodi Lukebakio joins Cunha in attack with Krzysztof Piatek dropping to the bench for Lucas Tousart.
