WATCH: INSIDE BAYERN'S DRESSING ROOM
THE START OF THE FLICK ERA
Since that Gladbach win, Bayern have lost just once more in all competitions under Flick who was taking charge of just his sixth game when BMG got the better of his side. It sparked a remarkable turnaround in the record champions' fortunes and they've never looked back, going on to complete a record-breaking treble last term, pick up both domestic and European Super Cups at the start of this campaign and establish a two point lead at the top after 14 games.
LAST TIME THEY MET
The last time these two met in Gladbach, it was the home side that ran out 2-1 winners with Ramy Bensebaini hitting a brace after Ivan Perisic's opener. Bensebaini's goals included a dramatic 92nd-minute winner from the penalty spot in a memorable win that, at the time, kept Gladbach top and a whole seven points clear of Bayern in seventh-place.

Breel Embolo leads the line for the hosts again here. Marcus Thuram remains suspended and Alassane Plea isn't in the squad at all. He was absent with a knee injury on Matchday 13, and only made a substitute appearance against Bielefeld last week. At left-back Ramy Bensebaini starts for the first time since Matchday 7, with Oscar Wendt dropping to the bench.

It's largely as expected from Bayern coach Hansi Flick, who has kept faith with out-of-form right-back Benjamin Pavard, with the 2018 World Cup winner starting once more. Serge Gnabry picked up an injury against Mainz last week so is out of action here, while Kingsley Coman is on the bench as he continues his recovery from a minor injury too. Leroy Sane and Douglas Costa start on the wings, with Joshua Kimmich in central midfield.
