LEIPZIG GO TOP
Superb stuff from Leipzig. Their sixth league win in a row takes them top, a point above Bayern - but for how long? The defending champions host Dortmund in just over an hour's time...

FRESH LEGS
Freiburg have been run ragged by Leipzig. Schlotterbeck and Jeong are on to prevent further damage.

FORSBERG!
Lovely football from Leipzig again ends with Sorloth cut back across goal and finding Forbsberg, who sends a wonderful first-time finish past Müller from 18 yards. Utterly professional from the new league leaders!
72'
HWANG!
The Leipzig substitute rounds Müller, but with a man on the line and the Freiburg goalkeeper recovering to his feet is forced wide. When he does get his shot away, the angle is tight and Müller is there to push it behind. A bit too elaborate...

DOUBLE CHANGE
Christian Streich puts Messrs Demirovic and Höler out of their misery. After feeding on scraps for over an hour, they make way for Nils Petersen and Guss Til.

SORLOTH!
The man in form does it again. Kampl wins back possession once more, advances and feeds Nkunku one-on-one. He could probably score himself, but selflessly slips the ball to his right, where Sorloth is waiting to tuck home. That's two goals and two assists in three for the Norwegian...

UPAMECANO HEADER
Leipzig work the ball quickly following a free-kick. Olmo clips a ball into the danger zone, where Upamecano - back to goal - flicks a tame diving header into the arms of Müller. Unorthodox from the big defender.

SCHMID HALF CHANCE
Better from Freiburg as they commit a good number of players forward. The ball comes in from Günter and eventually finds Schmid. He takes it on, but Klostermann gets his body in the way to block. That was travelling and on target.

NO CHANGES
As you were in Freiburg. Can the hosts get themselves back into this?

LEIPZIG LEAD!
Leipzig are going top, as things stand. Müller's loose pass out from the back is picked off by Kampl. Poulsen brings it down in the box, and has the wherewithal to square to the unmarked Nkunku to slide home from close range. Horrible goal to concede from a Freiburg point-of-view, following such a dogged first half.

SORLOTH!
Great work from Sorloth to open up a bit of space inside the Freiburg area. He sells his marker a couple of dummies, before drawing the first save of note from Müller. Nice hit - just lacked the necessary precision.
18'
PURE POWER FROM UPAMECANO
Freiburg try to break after a Leipzig attack breaks down. The ball's lumped up to Demirovic on halfway, but Upamecano steps up to disposes the Bosnian, dumping him on the deck in the process. Demirovic cries foul, but there was nothing in that. Superb reading of the game, and natural power, from the Bayern-bound defender.
16'
HIGH AND WIDE
Leipzig play those neat little passes they so love in and around the 18-yard area. Olmo combines with Poulsen, but his attempted curler fails to find the target. It opened up for him there - the Spaniard is kicking himself for not keeping that one down.
14'
LEIPZIG PROBING
Olmo tries to release Adams in the Freiburg box, but Grifo tracks him all the way and sweeps up. Tremendous effort from the Italy international, who's Freiburg's joint-leading scorer in this season's Bundesliga with seven goals.
10'
CLOSE!
Stunning football from Leipzig, who move the ball really well in midfield. Kampl plays an outrageous volleyed path onto the toe of Nkunku, stationed out wide left. The Frenchman cuts it onto his right foot and pings an inviting ball into the six-yard box, where Sorloth is inches away from applying the finishing touch.
7'
NOTHING GIVEN
Amadou Haidara darts into the box and goes to ground. He looks to the referee, who instead awards a free-kick in favour of Freiburg. Nagelsmann thrashes the air in despair.

SAFE HANDS
Freiburg attack with Günter, who goes on the outside of Grifo down the left-hand side. He collects the ball and swings in a cross, but Gulacsi is there to gather.

PREVIOUS MEETING
Leipzig ran out 3-0 winners back on Matchday 7, with the goals coming from Ibrahima Konate, Marcel Sabitzer and Angelino. Die Roten Bullen are unbeaten in their six home meetings with Freiburg, but have won only one of five in the Black Forest, losing the last three on the spin...

FELICITATIONS!
Freiburg's Jonathan Schmid makes his 273rd Bundesliga outing today, putting him level with Franck Ribery for most appearances by a Frenchman in the German top flight. Of the lot, 171 have come across his two stints with Freiburg. The 30-year-old, who was told by current coach Christian Streich to drop a few pounds if he wanted to join Die Breisgauer back in 2008, has produced 26 Bundesliga goals and 33 assists for the Black Forest outfit.
LEIPZIG'S KING OF THE NORTH
Sorloth's reward for his assist and dramatic winner against Gladbach, as well as his midweek contribution from the bench in the DFB Cup quarter-final win over Wolfsburg, is a ninth Bundesliga start. The Norway international has taken his time to find his feet following his summer move from Crystal Palace, but is beginning to look more and more like the player that registered 24 Turkish SuperLig goals during a loan stint at Trabzonspor in 20219/20.
FORM BOOKS
Leipzig have won five in a row in the league since falling to a shock 3-2 defeat to Mainz on 23 January. They're two points behind leaders Bayern, who host Dortmund later in the day. Freiburg, for their part, could go level sixth with a win. Die Breisgauer have already taken points off the likes of Leverkusen and Dortmund this calendar year.
TEAM NEWS
Freiburg are unchanged from the side that won 2-1 in Leverkusen last weekend, with Ermedin Demirovic keeping his place up front ahead of Nils Petersen. Angelino misses out once again for Leipzig, but Alexander Sorloth starts in attack after contributing three goals from the bench in wins over Gladbach and Wolfsburg.
