COLOGNE FRUSTRATING
Cologne are doing well to keep Augsburg away from their own penalty area. Wolf has been working hard in attack to press the Augsburg defence and keep the ball in the corner himself.

The Augsburg forward came on to score a late equaliser against Schalke earlier this season. Can he provide heroics again?

DUDA FIRES OVER!
Fantastic dribbling from Duda as he skips past a couple of Augsburg challenges before reaching the edge of the hosts' penalty area, but he fires his shot high over the crossbar. He was looking for his first ever Bundesliga hat-trick there...

HAHN INCHES AWAY!
Gumny is superb once again down the right as he works space for a cross. It floats into the middle and Hahn battles with Bornauw to meet it, with the ball bouncing wide in the end off the Augsburg forward. Cologne are struggling to hold on here...

SKHIRI CLEARS OFF THE LINE!
That was almost the 3-3 there but an incredible clearance from Skhiri keeps Cologne ahead. A deep ball from the left to the back post of the Cologne area was met by Gumny, who headed back across goal. The ball looped over Horn but Skhiri read the danger superbly and literally cleared the ball from his own goalline. What a piece of defending, and how crucial could that be come the end of the game...

OXFORD NOT FAR OFF!
A free-kick into the Cologne area is met by Oxford and Andersson, with the Swedish forward getting the final touch on the ball to put it behind.

A GAME OF TWO HALVES!
It's as if the two sides have swapped kits at half-time here. Cologne were flawless in the first half with Augsburg unable to keep up, and now it's the other way around with all of the game's play coming in the away side's half of the pitch. Augsburg will know they have plenty of time to complete what would be an incredible comeback.

HORN DOWN
Jannes Horn is down here for Cologne, after tumbling in the build-up to Augsburg's second goal. Katterbach is coming on for him.
62'
AUGSBURG HAVE ANOTHER!
The comeback is well and truly on here for Augsburg. It was 0-3 to Cologne at the break, but the home side have two in the opening 17 minutes of the second half. It's great work from Jensen down the right who skips past Bornauw to the byline before cutting back into the middle, and Vargas is ahead of Schmitz to hit the ball home. What a game we have here!
60'
WOLF HAS A GO!
A first shot on goal of the second half for Cologne as Duda slides Wolf into the Augsburg area, but his shot across goal is just inches wide of the post.
58'
AUGSBURG ON THE FRONT FOOT
It's been all Augsburg here in the second half and making the most of their pressure with a goal has given them a further boost.

GUMNY GETS ONE BACK!
Augsburg have hope at the start of the second half and it comes from two substitutes. Jensen is onto a loose ball at the back post and looks to fire the ball back at goal. It's blocked by Schmitz recovering on his goalline, but Gumny is the first onto the rebound to smash home from close range.
52'
GRUEZO BOOKED
A second Augsburg yellow card, with Gruezo booked for a foul on Schmitz.
51'
MUCH BETTER!
The home side have come out looking a shadow of themselves from the first, with Gouweleeuw heading over from Caligiuri's cross from deep. Cologne have barely been able to get out of their own half so far...
48'
VARGAS FORCES A SAVE!
Great response at the start of this second half from Augsburg has Vargas is found on the left side of the Cologne area. He controls the ball on his knee before firing a shot at goal, but Horn is able to tip it over his own crossbar.

CHANGES COMING
Looks like Herrlich will be making some substitutions before half-time with Moravek and Gumny being prepared.
36'
FINDING SPACE BETWEEN THE LINES
Cologne's 4-1-4-1 formation is really doing damage here, with Duda finding pockets of space in behind the Augsburg midfield and ahead of the four-man defence. With close support from Hector, Cologne are causing chaos on the break and mopping up their chances before Augsburg's midfield can get back to stop them.
33'
DUDA AT THE DOUBLE!
Cologne are flying here in Augsburg and the party doesn't look like stopping any time soon. Wolf is played in down the right and he spots Duda just inside the area in a touch of space. His pass is perfect, and Duda's finish at the near post isn't bad either. Cologne three goals up already and they fully deserve it!
30'
CHANCE FOR ANDERSSON!
It's all Cologne here as the away side break in numbers from the right. It's Wolf dribbling the ball into the Augsburg area and he lays the ball to his right for Andersson to hit at goal. Oxford's sliding challenge makes him take it quickly and Gikiewicz is able to keep out the low effort.
27'
COMEBACK FOR KAINZ
That was Florian Kainz's first Bundesliga goal of the season after a lengthy injury lay-off. His last strike in the top flight came against Frankfurt on the penultimate day of last season 10 months ago.
25'
AS THINGS STAND
The Billy Goats are closing the gap to Bielefeld in 15th place to just a single point as things stand, while Hertha Berlin are three points behind in 17th but with three games in hand.
23'
KAINZ WITH COLOGNE'S SECOND!
Cologne's excellent start continues here and they have doubled their lead. It's played forward from the back through the middle, and Hector finds Schmitz on the right. He reaches the byline on the far side before cutting the ball into the middle. It's dummied at the near post by Wolf, and Kainz has a free run at the ball to strike it into the bottom corner from 12 yards. Cologne flying here!
20'
HERE COME AUGSBURG!
A counter opens up for Augsburg with Caligiuri racing forward through the middle. He's challenged along the way and can't get a shot off before being held up just outside the Cologne area. It's Hahn who then strikes at a loose ball, and in the end it goes out for a goal-kick off Vargas.
19'
DUDA HAS A GO!
The next effort on goal from the attacking midfielder comes from around 25 yards out this time, but Gikiewicz is able to grab and hold onto this one.

PRESSING HIGH
Augsburg are looking to keep Cologne out of possession whenever possible, but it's not totally gone to plan in the opening phase of the game. Mainly due to the fact that the home side have been unable to keep the ball themselves.

GOAL OF THE SEASON CONTENDER FROM DUDA!
WOW! What a way to start this game and what a way to put your side in front. It's a throw-in on the left, and Skhiri is able to turn and volley a cross to the edge of the Augsburg area. Duda is waiting for it 20 yards from goal and facing in Skhiri's direction, he connects with an outstanding left-footed volley of his own and sends the ball thundering into the top corner giving Gikiewicz no chance.

CLOSEST SO FAR
Cologne have our first real attempt on goal of the game as Bornauw meets a free-kick into the Augsburg area from the right flank, but his header is high and wide over the top.

TENSE START
Both sides have been slow to start so far here, with a lot of tension and nerves in the air. You can tell that both sides are taking the game incredibly seriously, knowing full well what is at stake.

4-4-2 FOR AUGSBURG
It is indeed Hahn and Finnbogason up front together for Augsburg, with Vargas on the left and Caligiuri on the right in a slight change of formation for Herrlich's side.

FINALLY FOR FINNBOGASON?
Alfred Finnbogason - still in search of opening his 2020/21 account after missing a penalty last time out against Frankfurt - has scored three times against Cologne, a return only Lukas Podolski can match in this game’s history.
HISTORY ON AUGSBURG'S SIDE
This fixture has ended in Cologne collecting all three points only one time in 13 Bundesliga meetings, when Cologne were victorious 3-0 in the very first game between these two teams. Augsburg are unbeaten in the 12 games since, with six wins and a further six draws. Die Fuggerstädter have also avoided defeat in each of their last four home games, picking up two wins and two more draws most recently at the WWK Arena.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
Augsburg's 2-0 defeat to Frankfurt leaves tonight's hosts looking over their shoulders. With four rounds of fixtures remaining, Heiko Herrlich's side sit seven points clear of the bottom three. After Jonas Hector's incredible brace against Leipzig, Cologne are now level on 26 points with 16th-placed Hertha Berlin, and only four adrift of outright safety.

AUGSBURG TEAM NEWS
The absence of suspended defender Uduokhai isn't ideal, but midfield pair Caligiuri and Khedira are available for selection following mandatory bans of their own, with the former back to start. Herrlich recalls captain Gouweleew, left-back Iago, midfielder Strobl and forward Hahn after shuffling his pack in midweek, while Finnbogason leads the line.
COLOGNE TEAM NEWS
Funkel deploys a thoroughbred striker at the WWK-Arena in the form of fit-again Sweden international Andersson, but Ehizibue is suspended. Schmitz deputises at right-back, while Kainz makes only his third league start of an injury-hit campaign, ahead of Crystal Palace loanee Meyer.
