LEVERKUSEN UP TO THIRD
Well that second half certainly made up for the first! Patrik Schick had a penalty saved by Yann Sommer on 51 minutes but just seconds later Robert Andrich put the visitors in front with his third goal of the season. The first goal came from a corner, with the second arriving sixteen minutes from time from a left-wing free-kick. Czech star Schick got on the end of it to make it 2-0. Nico Elvedi then scrambled home from a Gladbach corner to make it a one-goal game with nine minutes to play, before Kerem Demirbay missed another Leverkusen spot-kick with three minutes left. The visitors had a whopping 29 shots at goal compared to Gladbach's 16. They climb to third while Gladbach will stay in 12th.

SUPER SOMMER!
The Gladbach does not deserve to be on the losing side. As if saying two second-half penalties wasn't enough, he now has to deal with Amine Adli storming through on goal. Sommer, though, is able to deny the substitute not once but twice.

SOMMER SAVES AGAIN!
Incredible! Swiss stopper Sommer has saved his second penalty of the game! Kerem Demirbay takes this one and strikes it well - low and to the keeper's left. But somehow the Gladbach keeper gets down to tip the ball around the post. This time the home side are able to clear the corner - they are still in this game!

ANOTHER PENALTY!
Wirtz is tripped by Beyer and Leverkusen have their second penalty of the game.

GLADBACH PULL ONE BACK!
Scally does superbly to cut inside Fosu-Mensah and thump a shot towards the top corner. A strong hand from Hradecky, though, keeps it out. There is nothing the 32-year-old can do from the resultant corner, however, as the ball bounces around the box before being slammed home from close range by Elvedi.

SCHICK AGAIN!
Schick does really well to get away from Nico Elvedi, but Sommer stands tall to beat away the Czech's strike from the left. The Leverkusen attacker then hits the rebound over from a similarly tight angle.

SCHICK HOOKS OVER
Moussa Diaby races down the left, but Schick can't keep an acrobatic left-footed effort down. The cross was a little behind him as he charged into the six-yard box. Meanwhile Gladbach have sent on two potential game changers in the shape of US youngster Scally and French attacker Thuram.

CAN GLADBACH RESPOND?
One or two Gladbach players will be happy to see the back of rapid right-back Frimpong, who has had to leave the field due to an injury. The home side will have to dig deep and show some real character, though, if they are to pick their way through a stodgy Leverkusen backline.
