Last-second specialists

Lest we forget, Eintracht scored in the very last moments of extra time against Betis in the Europa League on Thursday while the Eagles also netted in the corresponding fixture against Leipzig - a 1-1 draw - with the last kick of the game. The hosts have been warned.
84'

Nkunku off target

Nkunku sends a free kick over the top as time slips away for the hosts.
83'

Poulsen threatens

Nkunku feeds in Poulsen who jinks to the left, puts Trapp on the floor, feints to shoot and then asks Forsberg to have a go. Eintracht get men back to clear.
78'

Trapp wins again

Kevin Trapp comes out on top once more after Nkunku pounces on a defensive error before shooting first time from distance.

Quarter of an hour to go

Will we see a winning goal in the remaining 15 minutes or so here?
73'

Gulacsi flirts with disaster

Almost a big mistake from Gulacsi, who has had very little to do in this game. The 'keeper races from his line to the edge of the area to try and intercept a pass but Hauge gets there first and diverts goalwards. Orban is on hand to clear the danger.
72'

Forsberg moves too soon

Forsberg is a fraction offside before zipping a cross across the face of goal. Good energy from the Leizpig man, nonetheless.
68'

Hosts' frustration increasing

Angelino, Anrdré Silva and Nkunku combine for Leipzig but there is no end product for the hosts. The home fans are growing a little frustrated as the clock ticks on.
65'

Knauff has a go

A glimpse of goal for Eintracht. Hinteregger lifts a pass through for the onrushing Knauff who is off balance as he sends a shot over the top.
63'

Leipzig close

Nkunku combines with Laimer who races through on goals and fires at the target. Trapp spreads himself and saves with his wrist. Top stop from the Frankfurt 'keeper. Emil Forsberg is on for the hosts, meanwhile.
59'

Kostic off target

Kostic scored with a cross-shot from the left against Real Betis recently but there was no danger of that happening this time with the No.10s arcing centre zipping high over the bar.
56'

Hrustic yellow

Hrustic upends Nkunku this time and that's one more Eintracht man into the referee's notebook.
52'

Hinteregger booked

Hinteregger chops down Nkunku on the left side of the Eintracht area. The ref shows the Frankfurt defender a yellow card.

Scoreless draw unlikely ?

Leipzig haven't been involved in a 0-0 so far this season while Eintracht have played out just one scoreless draw this term, back on Matchday 2 against Augsburg.
49'

Busy Trapp

Nkunku's pass for Olmo drives the Spaniard a little too wide but he still manages to cross. Trapp gets down quickly and puts a hand on that as Eintracht subsequently clear.
47'

Olmo tester

Dani Olmo has the first attempt of the second half, a low shot that is comfortably saved by Trapp. Ajdin Hrustic, meanwhile, has come on for Eintracht.

Back underway

The second half is go. The challenge for the visitors will be to put Leipzig 'keeper Peter Gulacsi under more pressure this half, while for the hosts, who hit the woodwork twice and had a goal ruled out for offside, the call may have been for more of the same intensity from their coach at half time.

No goals at the break

Leipzig had by far the better chances and most of the ball, but Eintracht threatened enough to keep the hosts on their toes. Let's hope for an equally intriguing second 45.

Nkunku goal ruled out

Leipzig's top scorer has the ball in the net following a counter-attack but the assistant's flag is up; the Frenchman had moved an inch too soon.

Eintracht threaten

Lindstrom to Borre doesn't quite work out for the Eagles. In the same move, Kostic then sends in a dangerous cross which is cleared by Leipzig.
45'

Orban from the set-piece

Angelino and Nkunku stand over a free kick on the edge of the Eintracht area. The former dinks one in for Orban, who doesn't connect at all well with that and Trapp can take.
41'

Leipzig hit the woodwork once more

Nkunku rolls the ball to Laimer who has time to shape himself for a shot on the edge of the D. It's a beautiful hit from the Austrian that has Trapp beaten but thumps against the crossbar.
38'

Lindstrom loses out

Lindstrom leads an Eintracht attack down the left and has a huge amount of space to work in. The Dane gets into the area but can't pick out his striker partner Borre and the move breaks down.
33'

Simakan down

Rode and Simakan go flying in for the ball, both with legs raised. The Eintracht man catches Leipzig's No.2, who goes down and will need looking at by the physios.
30'

Dominant hosts

Leipzig have had five attempts at goal thus far, Frankfurt not one. A decent summary of how this game is going as we hit the half-hour mark.

Leipzig hit the post

The hosts are in the zone now, zipping passes here and there in attack. Their latest lightning move ends with Simakan thundering a shot at goal which Trapp palms onto the post. The keeper is relieved when the ball eventually ends up in his arms.
22'

Off the line !

Super build-up from Leipzig with Kampl lifting a dangerous cross to the far post from the left towards André Silva. The Portuguese attacker directs the ball towards goal but Hinteregger is there to stop that on the line. Nkunku flies in with a high boot and the ref whistles for a foul.
20'

Laimer booked

A sprinting Laimer can't halt his run soon enough to avoid crashing into Borre, who goes down and will need treatment. Laimer goes into the referee's notebook.
20'

Fantastic atmosphere

Cracking noise under the sunshine at the Red Bull Arena. The fans are witnessing a tense game of few big chances thus far. You feel one moment will change all of that.
15'

Lindstrom chance

Lindstrom picks up possession inside the Leipzig area and looks to square for Borre but the Dane's pass is snuffed out. Lindstrom really should have done better there, but there may have been an offside in the build up anyway.
11'

First sight of goal

Inevitably it's Nkunku with the first shot of the game, the French attacker seeing an effort at target take a slight deflection as it curls over. Orban heads wide from the resulting corner.

Eintracht go wide

Knauff - who had a terrific game when Eintracht ousted Betis from the Europa League during the week - is wide on the right and looking to create some danger but there's no way through this time.

Leipzig threaten

André Silva looks to squeeze his way through from a tight angle inside the Eintracht box but he's ushered out and the move breaks down. Slow-ish start here as both teams settle in.

Kick-off!

It's almost time ...

The teams are out on the pitch at the Red Bull Arena and we're all set for kick-off. Settle in, this one is going to be exciting.

Solid form

So, with Leipzig unbeaten in their last eight games and Frankfurt without a loss in their last four, we're all set for what is certain to be an intriguing Bundesliga encounter. What's your match prediction?

Frankfurt big on morale

Eintracht have never beaten Leipzig in the Bundesliga in eleven attempts, but with the Eagles flying in terms of confidence right now, this could be their moment. The visitors arrive here on the back of four successive victories in all competitions, with Thursday's aforementioned extra-time triumph against Betis leading to sky-high morale.
camera-photo

Nkunku in focus

There will be plenty of attention on Christopher Nkunku today, especially with the in-form French forward receiving a first call-up into Didier Deschamps' Les Bleus squad. The Bundesliga Player of the Month for October has scored eight goals in nine Bundesliga games in 2022 while he has netted eight of his 15 goals this season at home.

Eintracht team news

Eintracht's Swiss midfielder Djibril Sow is suspended for this Matchday 27 encounter but coach Glasner will be relieved to have attacker Jesper Lindstrom fully fit. Albeit ultimately successful, the Eagles were out on their feet after 120 minutes of Europa League, Round of 16 action against Real Betis last Thursday so it will be interesting to see how the visitors respond today.

Leipzig team news

Lukas Klostermann is the only man missing from the setup at Leipzig, who have Dani Olmo in their side after the attacking midfielder made a full recovery from illness. Kevin Kampl also makes it into Tedesco's team, the midfielder previously laid low with an earache.

Glasner eyeing victory

Time for some words from Frankfurt boss, Oliver Glasner, now: “We’re going into [the Leipzig game] with a lot of confidence but also great respect," the Eintracht tactician said. "They’ve changed their style a little, they’re more controlled and calm in possession. Our approach is always the same: we’re going there to win.”

Tedesco wary of "robust" Eagles

As his team seek a win that would lift them to third place in the standings, Leipzig coach Domenico Tedesco, has been giving his thoughts on today's opponents, Eintracht Frankfurt. "They’re a really robust team with a number of physically strong players," the 36-year-old said. "They’ve got good players in central defence and on the wings, plus they have really dangerous players like Filip Kostić, who is capable of crossing from almost anywhere."
