Nagelsmann gets his first win as Bayern coach, and first piece of silverware. Dortmund had their chances, but the record champions have Lewandowski. He broke the deadlock late in the first half, and added a third just when BVB were looking like they might push on after Reus had reduced the arrears. Müller was also on the scoresheet to help the holders claim a record-extending ninth Supercup.

Lewandowksi won't get his hat-trick - he's replaced by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Bouna Sarr's also on for Bayern, in place of Josip Stanisic, who's delivered once again at right-back. Reinier Jesus and Marius Wolf join the action for Dortmund.

No changes as the second half gets going. Can Dortmund turn this around?

Robert Lewandowski's late goal is the difference at half-time in Dortmund. It's been a captivating encounter, with Manuel Neuer making two big saves, Kingsley Coman missing a sitter and Youssoufa Moukoko having a goal ruled out, before Bayern forged ahead. Safe to say you do not want to miss the second 45.

Passlack plays a low ball into the path of Haaland in the Bayern half. Upamecano races across with a shoulder barge that usually floors opposition forwards - not Haaland. He stays on his feet, and proceeds to ping over a cross that's hooked away.

Somre start in Dortmund. Passlack scampers in behind Davies, the BVB right-back winning a throw he plays quickly to Jude Bellingham. He doesn't quite catch his cross, though, allowing Bayern to break. A cute back-heel sends Müller away, but Manuel Akanji makes a fine recovery challenge.

Exactly 24,742 fans are in attendance to witness the first silverware battle of the 2021/22 season. Who's your money on?

The two teams exchange pleasantries ahead of kick-off. Dortmund are in their traditional black-and-yellow shirts, Bayern are in their brand spanking new change strip, inspired by the Bavarian mountains.

Former Bayern coach Hansi Flick is in the stands tonight. The revered 2020 sextuple-winning tactician will oversee his first game as Germany boss next month, having succeeded Joachim Löw following the 2020 Euros.

Bayern are the record eight-time Supercup winners, and six-time runners-up. They're also the holders, having dethroned Dortmund in last season's edition. BVB beat Bayern in 2019, 2014, 2013 and 1989, and lifted the trophy in 1995 and 1996.

Lewandowski stuck away 103 goals in 187 competitive games for Dortmund, before moving to Bayern on a free transfer in summer 2014. The Poland has since rattled off 295 goals in 330 games for the record champions, including 22 in 23 outings against his former employers.

Haaland has now had a direct hand in 80 goals in 61 competitive appearances for Borussia Dortmund, including five in his last three meetings with Bayern. A first win over the record champions has proved elusive, though...

Already a scorer of some 127 goals for the Dortmund U17s and 19s, Moukoko wrote his name into the history books as the Bundesliga's youngest player, a day after his 16th Birthday. He became the Champions League's greenest debutant within a week, before overtaking Nuri Sahin as the youngest Bundesliga scorer, aged 16 years and 28 days. Moukoko added two more top-flight strikes to his tally in the new year, only for a ligament injury to check his accelerated progress. Back to full fitness, the Supercup marks his first start of the new campaign following substitute outings in the DFB Cup and on Bundesliga Matchday 1.

BVB boss Marco Rose has likewise only shuffled his pack once following on from his side's 5-2 thumping of Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend. Thorgan Hazard is sidelined with an ankle complaint, so 16-year-old wunderkind Youssoufa Moukoko starts alongside Erling Haaland up top. Axel Witsel continues at centre-back in the ongoing absences of Mats Hummels, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Emre Can.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann makes one change from the side that started the Bundesliga opener away to Borussia Mönchengladbach last Friday, with Kingsley Coman beginning on the wing in place of Leroy Sane, who drops to the bench. Josip Stanisic continues to deputise for the injured Benjamin Pavard at right-back, with Bouna Sarr as back-up on the bench, while Niklas Süle is preferred to Tanguy Nianzou alongside summer signing Dayot Upamecano in central defence.
