BAYERN CRUISE TO OPENING WIN
What a start from the record champions. A first-half performance that produced five unanswered goals left Eintracht Frankfurt gobsmacked as Bayern ebbed and flowed. A debut goal for Mane and a Musiala double were among the Bavarians' six tonight and it's already hard to see who will stop them this season. For Frankfurt, a UEFA Super Cup challenge against Real Madrid awaits on Wednesday.

KOLO MUANI RACES THROUGH
Kolo Muani enters a sprint for goals with Upamecano and the forward just edges ahead, before showing too much of the ball to Neuer, who gathers. A solid chance for a second goal but credit to Upamecano for shadowing his opponent all the way there.

SECOND-HALF CONCERNS?
Ok, Bayern are cruising but if we're nit-picking, it's interesting to note that the visitors conceded three second half goals against Leipzig last week while they currently trail in the second 45 here.

MANE CHANCE
Trapp saves from Mane, conceding a corner. Meanwhile, Kostic makes way for Eintracht debutant, Faride Alidou.

FRANKFURT FANS STILL SINGING
The home fans are still serenading their team, despite the scoreline here. That Randal Kolo Muani goal has at least given them some cheer. The ex-Nantes striker scored with his first shot on target in the Bundesliga.
71'
KOSTIC BOOKED
Kostic is caught offside and then blooters the ball out in frustration. No choice for the ref there: it's a yellow from the Frankfurt player.

KNAUFF EFFORT
Knauff races in on goals from the right and smacks one into the side netting.

Look away Manuel Neuer fans. The Bayern goalkeeper struggles to deal with a back pass on the edge of his area and can't quite get enough on the ball to feed Hernandez. Kolo Muani pounces and rolls in for a debut goal !

NEUER CALLED INTO ACTION
The Bayern goalkeeper gets down to save Knauff's low drive as Eintracht look to reduce the arrears in front of their fans.

EINTRACHT AMBITION
Frankfurt have been probing since the restart. Die Adler will need to try and gain some confidence in this second half. Glasner's side face Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.

GOAL KINGS
Let's remind ourselves that Bayern have scored a goal every 14 minutes in a game and a half of official competition this season. They've netted as many as ten times in 2022/23 (Supercup included).

FRANKFURT CHANGES
Not so surprising to see that Oliver Glasner has changed things up for the hosts with a triple change, Kolo Muani coming on for his Bundesliga debut with Jakic and Lenz also thrown into the mix.

DEADLY BAYERN
Bayern had 17 shots on goal in that first half: they scored with five, saw seven saved and hit the woodwork with three others. How do you cope?

BAYERN PURRING
Poor Eintracht have been blown away by a team that has been at it from the off here. Naglesmann's side have sliced through the home defence at will and although Eintracht have had a couple of decent chances, they have been miles behind the defending Bundesliga champions.

Mane battles his way through the centre, showing fantastic strength before freeing Müller on the right. His cutback offers Musiala a tap in and this one is done.

Musiala draws a save from Trapp with one more shot from distance. Mane then lifts an effort over the bar as Die Bayern threaten to run riot.

TRAPP SAVE
Musiala lets fly with a scorcher, Trapp palms it onto the bar and the flag goes up as players in red stream in for the follow up.
27'
LINDSTRÖM SURELY .....
It's a lovely build up from Eintracht before Lindstrom picks up possession in a central area. He dances his way through and looks to pick his spot in the corner. Neuer is beaten, but the ball fizzes wide. Big chance.
23'
MÜLLER MISS
Bayern break and already this has the look of 3-0. Gnabry races through on the left, has a look up and squares for Müller, who looks certain to score. Incredibly, the Raumdeuter's shot comes back off the post. Huge let off for Eintracht there.

MANE HAS A SNIFF
Last season's assist king, Thomas Müller, feeds a cheeky through pass in for Mane but it's just ahead of the Senegalese attacker and Trapp gathers.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING - GLASNER
"We've looked at Bayern in great detail," Nagelsmann's counterpart at Frankfurt, Oliver Glasner, said. "They've got a lot of variety in attack and are really good at getting behind opposition defences. It'll be a really tricky game for us. We want to showcase our football in our very first game, play with high intensity and give Bayern a proper fight. To be playing in the opening game is a kind of reward for our performance last season. We want to live up to that. We won't be raising the white flag on Friday, but will do all we can to start the season with a win."
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING - NAGELSMANN
"It's not easy to play in Frankfurt," the Bayern coach said at his pre-match press conference. "I don't know 100 percent what their squad will look like. Frankfurt are a strong team with a passionate fan base. It's the season opener, on a Friday night - it will be a good game."
HEAD-TO-HEAD
This will be the 102nd competitive meeting between these teams. While the weight of history is very much on Bayern's side, with 63 wins to Frankfurt's 29, it has been an evenly balanced fixture of late. Over the last three years each team has won one game per season, while Frankfurt also famously beat Bayern in the 2018 DFB Cup final.
NEW FACES GALORE
We are likely to see several of the clubs' summer signings in action tonight: Bayern may have lost Robert Lewandowski over the summer but having recruited Sadio Mane, Matthijs de Ligt and Ryan Gravenberch, among others, they look well stocked going into the new campaign. The same can be said of Frankfurt, who have bolstered their squad as they prepare for a maiden Champions League appearance. Former Bayern midfielder Mario Götze is among a host of exciting arrivals for the Europa League winners, with Lucas Alario, Faride Alidou and Jens Petter Hauge also completing permanent transfers to the Eagles.
