HOFFENHEIM RUN AWAY WITH IT!
TSG climb to third, overnight at least, after a dominant display. Schalke were outplayed from start to finish, and stay in the bottom three. Worrying times for the promoted club, you have to say...

JOB DONE
No hat-trick from Skov, but he won't be too fussed. Great effort from the great Dane. Becker's also on for Rutter.

RUDY!
He's in behind, but can only direct a free header wide of the far post. Schalke have given up.

BIG CHANCE!
Not taken! Hoffenheim work it really well as Angelino cushions a ball back to Rutter. He's 10 yards out and dead central, but can't beat Schwolow.
76'
BRAVO!
Baumgartner was brilliant tonight - a performance with everything but a goal. Dabbur's purple patch, meanwhile, gathers pace...

ANGELI-NO!
Angelino with a full-blooded volley at the far post, but Schwolow gets two firm hands behind the shot. Lovely cross by Rutter to find the pint-sized Spaniard. Almost a very tasty goal.

MOLLET!
The Frenchman fires wide with a shot on the run from 18 yards. He lands awkwardly, though, and may have to go off...

SKOV AT THE DOUBLE!
No stopping that. It's very similar to his first spot-kick, though Schwolow does go the right way. Mountain to climb for Schalke.
57'
PENALTY!
Ouwejan handles in his attempt to stop Skov breaking into the box. No question about that, looking back at the footage.

It's just not Schalke's day as Terodde flicks a header from a corner onto the foot of the far post. Baumann didn't move.

HAMMER BLOW...
... for Schalke. Terodde's header from a corner is saved by Baumann, who immediately hoofs a long ball up to Rutter. He retains possession, before slipping a pass into the box for Dabbur to steer a brilliant finish into the far corner.

GREIML!
Greiml gets a head to Ouwejan's in-swinging free-kick. Baumann's at full stretch, but it goes wide of the angle of post and bar.
40'
BAUMGARTNER!
So close to a second Hoffenheim goal. Baumgartner receives the ball in the box and catches his shot really low. It's awkward for Schwolow, who gets a hand to it before smothering at the second attempt, just in front of the goal-line.
36'
CLOSE!
Prömel controls a pass into his feet, before whipping an effort just past the upright from the edge of the D. That's a let-off for Schalke. They defence just didn't tight enough to him.
29'
DENIED!
The Schalke fans urge Mollet to shoot. He obliges from 18 yards, firing a fierce strike off the foot of a post. It cannons back out to Ouwejan, whose goal-bound strike is met by Baumann's outstretched boot.
28'
OVER!
Baumgartner goes up to meet Geiger's cross, heading off target. He collides with Yoshida in the process, but should be OK.

RUTTER!
Brilliant from Hoffenheim as Dabbur back-heels into the path of Baumgartner. He feeds the run of Rutter in the box, but the young striker goes for power and can't keep his shot down. Had to test the goalkeeper!

WIDE!
Good spell for Schalke as they force a hurried pass out from the back from Kabak. Krauß picks it up, before driving wide of the post from 18 yards.
20'
OUUUUWEJAN!
Ouwejan's ensuing free-kick asks the question of Baumann. It bounces just in front of the TSG keeper in his six-yard box, and he does really well to push the ball to safety.

SUSPENSION
Vogt goes into the book after blocking off Terrode. He'll serve a mandatory one-match ban when Hoffenheim host Bayern next week.

SKOV WANTS IT
The goalscorer has clearly scented blood today and goes for his second, jinking in off the right before getting a shot away with his preferred left boot. It's blocked before Schwolow needs to intervene though.
15'
SCHALKE UNFAZED
Drexler scampers forward down the right into space as the Royal Blues look to respond. Vogt has read the danger though, and slides in to snuff out the attack.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Schalke have been awarded three penalties so far this season but that was the first one that has been given against them.
11'
HOFFENHEIM LEAD!
Skov, in the absence of injured striker Kramaric, assumes penalty duties and he tucks this one away with aplomb!

PENALTY TO HOFFENHEIM!
The referee checks his pitch-side monitor for a VAR review and awards a penalty to Hoffenheim for a foul by Greiml on Baumgarnter.

HOFFENHEIM GO CLOSE!
Brilliant from Rutter on the right as he jinks into the box and floats a cross to the back post. Angelino heads it back into the middle towards Baumgarnter, who controls it and flicks an effort towards goal - but it's blocked. Prömmel follows up but fires off target.

PROMISING POSITION
Schalke ping the ball around midfield nicely with some one-touch passing. They draw a foul in a central position, around 40 yards out, and despite the distance Mollet tries his luck. He strikes the ball well but it would take something truly spectacular to score from there. Suffice to say this one doesn't go in.

OFF WE GO!
Bundesliga Matchday 10 is up and running!
Kick-off!
WELCOME KA-BAK!
Kabak made 40 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke between September 2019 and January 2021. The Hoffenheim defender, who has also played for Stuttgart, Liverpool and Norwich, has not missed a kick so far this season. He's even registered a goal and a couple of assists.

MORE ON THOSE TEAMS
The big news is the absence of Kramaric, who has an ankle problem. Rutter replaces Hoffenheim's record scorer, in the only change from the team that lost to Bremen. Ouwejan returns at left-back for Schalke, while Mollet earns a first Bundesliga start at the expense of Polter in attack.

"HIGHER INTENSITY"
The hosts suffered their fifth defeat of the campaign last weekend - a 4-0 loss at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen - and coach Frank Kramer insists the Royal Blues will give a much better showing of themselves at home tonight. “We know more is expected of us and we want to show we’re capable of that," the tactician admitted. "We have to play at a higher intensity on Friday.”
