SUPERB ENTERTAINMENT

And that, finally, is that. A sensational game in which Leipzig bossed the first half and Hertha threatened to pull off a monumental comeback in the second. In the end, the hosts hang on for three big points. For the visitors, there will be plenty of positives to take from a stirring second 45'.

OLD LADY NOT FINISHED

Davie Selke suddenly has a great chance in front of the posts. He lashes a shot low at the target but it's too close to Blaswich, who can make the save. Lukebakio thunders an effort off target on the follow up. Phew, this is some finish to what has been an absolute belter of a second half.

LUKEBAKIO TO THE RESCUE

Amazing, just amazing. Szoboszlai frees Nkunku, who digs the ball out of his feet, rounds the Hertha keeper and dinks the ball at goal. From somewhere, who knows where, Lukebakio slides in and sticks out a leg to divert the ball wide. Nkunku and the fans behind the goal were celebrating.

Novoa looks to curl a pass in for Nkunku. He misses his man completely and was in an offside position anyway. Hertha escape.

LEIPZIG CHANGES

No goal for Silva on his 100th Bundesliga appearance, then. He and Forsberg are off, both having put in a real shift here and the latter scoring the game's opening goal. Chance for Novoa and Poulsen to put an end to this Hertha revival.

ANDRE SILVA CENTURY

It's a 'Happy 100th Bundesliga appearance' to Leipzig striker Andre Silva today. Among the Portuguese marksman's 51 German top flight goals are the six he scored against today's opponents Hertha, who will have to be wary of Die Roten Bullen's in-form forward.

NYLAND ON THE BENCH

After the serious injury to Peter Gulacsi, Leipzig reacted by bringing in the experienced Orjan Nyland. The Norwegian national goalkeeper played 18 Bundesliga and 30 Bundeliga 2 games for Ingolstadt from 2015 to 2018, and is on the bench for Die Roten Bullen today.

RICHTER RETURNS

As the Hertha team tweet says, Marco Richter makes his first start of the current season. That is the only change Sandro Schwarz makes compared to the previous week, with Chidera Ejuke, who had previously been on the left of the attack, making way. Richter has made six substitute appearances this season, scoring twice.

TWO CHANGES FOR ROSE

Marco Rose changes his team in 2 positions after the Champions League win in Glasgow. Abdou Diallo is back in central defence for Josko Gvardiol and Emil Forsberg comes in for Timo Werner, who is absent today due to illness - the latter is good news for Hertha at least, as Werner scored 8 times in his last 8 games against the Berliners.

FRIENDS REUNITED

German publication, Bild, reminds us that today's coaches, Marco Rose and Sandro Schwarz, are very much BFFs, with the pair once playing together at Mainz under Jürgen Klopp. "Since then, both of them have been going on vacation together regularly (to Mallorca in the past as footballers) - and have even travelled together with their families (to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, among other places)," the daily informs. "Rose is the godfather of Schwarz's son Karlo (5), Schwarz is the godfather of Rose's daughter Maria (13). Rose was also Schwarz's best man."

HERTHA'S POSITIVE OUTLOOK

Hertha came close to downing high-flyers Freiburg last time out, with Kevin Schade denying last week's hosts a come-from-behind win with a goal in the 78th minute. Despite that, coach Sandro Schwarz will have taken plenty of positives from a game that saw the lively Dodi Lukebakio and Suat Serdar hit the target.

LEIPZIG IN GOOD SPIRITS

Morale is high among the Leipzig contingent following an impressive midweek win at Celtic in the Champions League. That result kept Die Roten Bullen's hopes of advancing to the tournament's last 16 very much alive and now the focus switches back to the Bundesliga and the Matchday 10 encounter against Hertha.

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER!

Only four points separate Leipzig and Hertha in lower mid-table. It's unfamiliar territory for DFB Cup holders and UEFA Champions League representatives Die Roten Bullen, while the Old Lady are enjoying a five-match unbeaten run. Stay tuned!
