Decisive
That was Berisha's sixth Bundesliga goal of the season, with each of those strikes opening the scoring!

Berisha the hero at home again!
As we said earlier, Berisha usually makes his mark at the WWK Arena, and he does so again! The corner is floated in by Engels, and the 24-year-old heads home unmarked. 1-0 Augsburg!

Nothing between the sides
In a close opening period, the two teams could not be separated. Leverkusen were slightly more dangerous, though, and Xabi Alonso will hope his players can push on in the second half.

Who's new at the WWK Arena
Augsburg were one of the Bundesliga's busiest clubs throughout January, completing seven incoming transfers - Dion Beljo, David Colina, Irvin Cardona, Renato Veiga, Arne Engels, Nathanael Mbuku and Kelvin Yeboah, the nephew of Eintracht Frankfurt great Tony, all joined the squad before the deadline. How many will we see tonight?

Augsburg slipping
For Augsburg, it is a rather different story. One victory in 11, of which seven were defeats, has seen them drop down to 14th in the table. A narrow loss to Borussia Dortmund and a win against Borussia Mönchengladbach, however, will have given Enrico Maaßen cause for optimism.
Leverkusen on the up
Xabi Alonso did not have the best start to life as Leverkusen boss, but 'Die Werkself' are currently on an upward trajectory. They have lost just once in their last eight games in all competitions, winning six, and could put themselves in the conversation for a European spot with victory in Augsburg.
