Ibra watch
Promoted to the first team upon signing a contract extension through to 2025, Ibrahimovic makes his Bundesliga debut, aged 17. No, he's of no relation to Zlatan.

Gnabry on the spot!
Janko upends Gnabry in the box. It's a clear penalty, with the Bayern No.7 picking himself up to send Riemann the wrong way from the spot.

All change
The teenaged Tel is on for Choupo-Moting, while Blind replaced Musiala. Thomas Reis, meanwhile, rotates his entire front three in a bid to turn the tide.

Coman strikes!
Bayern have their two-goal cushion. Musiala slides a pass into the box for Coman, who fires through the legs of Riemann.

Coman on
Here comes Coman the Bavarian. He scored twice against Wolfsburg last week. Cancelo, who's been a little subdued by his standards, makes way.

Choups!
Cancelo with a trademark delivery from the right. Choupo-Moting is first to it, but heads off target. He knows he should have done better.

Sommer tested!
Bochum close to levelling from nowhere. Kunde arcs a cross onto the head of Stöger, whose towering header is creeping in until Sommer claws it away!

One change apiece
Bayern goalscorer Müller makes way, presumably with an eye on the PSG game, with Davies on. Bochum replace Förster with Stöger.

De Ligt denied!
Riemann pulls off a point-blank save from a De Ligt header. Goretzka throws himself at the rebound, but heads wide. He perhaps should have left it for Müller, who was better placed to convert from close range.

Müller breaks the deadlock!
Bayern lead, but what a mistake by Janko! Under pressure from Müller, the Bochum defender underhits his attempted back-pass. The Bayern captain gets a bit lucky as he tries to round the advancing Riemannm, with the ball bouncing off the Bochum stopper's legs. He's still some way from goal as Janko tries to recover, but the Germany international squeezes home a fine shot on the turn for 1-0.
39'
Goretzka off target
Bochum alumnus Goretzka connects with a cute Sane pass across the area, but is leaning back and plants his first-time effort into the stand behind Riemann's goal.
38'
Live table
Bayern are still top as things stand, but would be in danger of surrendering top spot if they fail to win. Second-placed Union go to fourth-in-the-table Leipzig later today.
34'
Double chance!
Müller flicks a pass into the area for Sane. He gets to the byline, but his attempted cut-back is blocked by Riemann. It's cleared only as far as Gnabry, who draws a diving save from Riemann with a daisycutter he didn't quite get hold of.
31'
In-Sane skills
Brilliant from Sane, who pulls off a Maradona spin on the halfway line. He spreads the play to Cancelo, who tries to go on the outside of Janko, but the Bochum man does his job.
28'
Cheeky!
Choupo-Moting flicks a header into the feet of Müller, who's a good 25 yards out. He spots Riemann off his line, but his first-time lob lacks the height to seriously trouble the Bochum No.1.

Half chance!
Riemann misjudges a ball into the box. Cancelo's lurking as it bounces goalwards, before Masovic is able to hook to safety.
15'
Choupo-Moting!
Bayern move it well, shifting the ball out to Cancelo on the left-hand side. He clips in a cross for Choupo-Moting, who's under pressure at the back post and steers his header wide of the upright.

Musiala!
Brilliant build-up between Müller and Choupo-Moting to carve out an opening for Musiala. He takes aim from outside the area, but it's meat and drink for Riemann.

Upa the rock
Antwi-Adjei tries to outpace Upamecano on the right wing, but the Bayern sentry uses all his sizeable frame to block off the Bochum forward's run.
4'
Chance!
Cancelo slips in Sane, who's all poised to shoot before Kunde makes a vital block in the box. Bit hesitant from the Bayern No.10 there.

Thomas Müller has overtaken Gerd Müller as Bayern's record appearance-maker in the Bundesliga (428). The bona fide club legend is wearing the armband today.

Kick-off!
Moment's reflection
There's a minute's silence ahead of kick-off as the Bundesliga pays its respects to the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Teams are out!
The Bayern and Bochum players emerge from the tunnel to a touching Tifo, marking 50 years of that aforementioned friendship. It's a sea of red, white and blue in the stands!
Fan friendship
Lovely touch from Bayern - they've just played Bochum's club anthem. The two sides share a bond that can be traced back to the early 1970s.
Key man
Bochum have won six games so far this season. Christopher Antwi-Adjei has been directly involved in at least one goal every time (two scored, six assists). Does he have the pace to stretch Bayern's high line?
Attack vs. defence
Bayern are the Bundesliga's top scorers so far this season with 56 goals - more than double Bochum's 24. They've conceded a league-low 18, compared to Bochum's unwanted league-high 46.

More on those teams
Bayern's Man City loanee Joao Cancelo moves to left-back, with Benjamin Pavard starting on the right and Alphonso Davies benched. Jamal Musiala partners Leon Goretzka in central midfield in place of the suspended Joshua Kimmich, while Serge Gnabry is rotated in for Kingsley Coman and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is back from illness to lead the line. Bochum show three changes from the midweek DFB Cup loss to Dortmund, with left-back Kostas Stafylidis, midfielder Pierre Kunde and forward Simon Zoller handed starts. Danilo Soares, Kevin Stöger and Takuma Asano make way.

Naglesmann speaks
This, of course is a huge week for Bayern. Not only are the record champions seeking a first home win of 2023 today, they head to France to face PSG in the Champions League on Valentine's Day. Not that you'd get coach Julian Nagelsmann distracted by the latter fixture right now. "We need to keep our concentration and not think about Paris," the Bayern boss said in the build up to Bochum. "We need rhythm, we need confidence because in the last few weeks we've not been in full flow and playing everyone off the park," he added.

Home fortress
Bayern have only lost one of their 35 Bundesliga home matches against Bochum over the years, losing 2-0 in August 1991. They have won 26 of the other fixtures, drawing eight.
No Kimmich
Kimmich's sending off against Wolfsburg last time out meant he became the 100th Bayern player to be shown a red card in Bundesliga history. This will be the first league game he misses this season.
Cancelo cultured
Bayern's deadline-day signing has truly hit the ground running, providing an assist in both of his competitive games for the team so far: one in the DFB Cup against Mainz and one against Wolfsburg on Matchday 19.
Goals galore
A league-high total of 20 goals have been scored in the four Bundesliga games Bochum have been involved in so far in 2023, 10 for and 10 against at an average of one every 18 minutes.
