Chance to seal it for Leipzig as Nkunku plays in Laimer, but he drags his effort across goal.

Another attacking change

Glasner throws on another striker in Borre. He knows there's a result in this for his team.

Frankfurt's lifeline from Sow

71'

Fresh legs

Both teams will be feeling it after their midweek exertions, but Marco Rose has seen momentum has slipped away from his side so sends on reinforcements.
67'

Lindstrom!

Similar to his effort earlier this half as he comes in on his left. This time the Dane goes across goal and Blaswich is just able to adjust his hands in time to parry. Orban that smashes clear.
66'

Real swing

It was 6-1 in Leipzig's favour for shots in the first half. Now it's 5-1 in Eintracht's after the break.

Nkunku on

Big roar goes up around the Red Bull Arena as their star man enters the fray.

Henrichs stinger

A Szoboszlai free-kick into the box - after Rode brought down Forsberg and saw yellow - is headed away to Henrichs on the right of the area. He takes a touch and lets fly, stinging the palms of Trapp.

Already better from Frankfurt

Kolo Muani!

Now the main man gets in on the act as Kamada feeds the Frenchman, he holds off two Leipzig defenders and this time goes high on his left. Parried over by Blaswich with a more uncomfortable but still routine save.
51'

Lindstrom!

Much better from the visitors as Lindstrom drives at the defence from the right. He goes low for the near post on his left foot but Blaswich is down quick to hold it.

Nkunku warming up

Expect to see him given at least a good half an hour today. And a thorough warm-up would be advised as the snow falls in Leipzig.
49'

Bad omen?

Frankfurt's record when trailing at the break in the Bundesliga this season is three draws and a loss. Leipzig's record when leading at half-time is 10 wins and one defeat.

Back we come

No changes in personnel for either side at the break, but Oliver Glasner will want a very different approach from his Frankfurt side.

Half-time: Leipzig 2-0 Frankfurt

Leipzig double up!

Werner scored six minutes into the game and has now teed up Forsberg with five to go in this half to put Leipzig in a great position. Through ball up the left into the path of Werner, whose square ball offers a simple tap-in for the Swede in a role reversal of the opening goal. RB moving to within a point of Bayern and Union, and two off Dortmund given they're drawing at Hoffenheim right now.

Blocked behind

It's Lindstrom and Max standing over it, the straight angle favouring neither in particular. It's the left-footed Max who hits it in the end, but Halstenberg jumps well in the wall and diverts it behind with his head. Still, a first shot of the game for Eintracht.

Free-kick Frankfurt

Orban slides in on Kolo Muani in the D as the Frenchman tries to pass to Lindstrom. Card for the Leipzig skipper and a free-kick in a dangerous position for the visitors, dead centre.

Frankfurt do very nearly carve out that first chance as Sow spots Kolo Muani about to spin in behind. The ball looks perfect until Laimer steps in to cut out what would've been a glorious chance.

Settled

Both sets of supporters are making good noise inside the Red Bull Arena. Things have settled down more on the pitch since that furious opening spell from Leipzig. We're still yet to see a telling attack from Eintracht, though.

Big swing

Big swing
That early goal made a big change to the odds in this game. Leipzig were already statistical favourites, but the numbers show that Werner's goal should mean Leipzig win this in three out of four occasions. Yet they will remember their last home game as they threw away a 1-0 lead to lose to Union...

End of the drought

Werner's sixth Bundesliga goal of the season is the third time he's put Leipzig 1-0 ahead and ends a personal drought of 374 minutes in the league going back to the 6-1 win at Schalke on Matchday 17.

Advantage Leipzig!

That positive start has turned into the goal Leipzig wanted. Forsberg dispossesses Tuta and sends Werner away in behind. He's starting to stumble as he gets into the box but holds his balance just enough to knock it past Trapp and just inside the right post.

Now Forsberg!

Really positive from Leipzig. Forsberg does well to keep the ball in on the left, comes inside and feeds it into Poulsen. The Dane stumbles as he tries to control with his back to goal but still manages to lay it back to his fellow Scandinavian, who can't quite bend his effort on goal.
2'

Halstenberg!

Hosts quickly on the front foot as Laimer skips past a couple of challenges and sends Poulsen up the right. His low cross is only parried into the middle by Trapp. It's Halstenberg running onto it, but on his weaker right foot it was always going to take something to hit the target.
Kick-off!

Teams are in the tunnel

We're very close to kick-off at the Red Bull Arena. Is this a last chance for these teams in the title race? Win and they're hot on the tails of the three tied at the top. Lose and the gap to the summit could open up to eight this weekend.

Bit more on the Leipzig team

It's three changes for Marco Rose from the side that drew with Manchester City during the week. Henrichs, Kampl and Poulsen are in for Klostermann, Silva and Schlager. It's Poulsen's first start since the 3-3 draw with Augsburg on 22 October. Kampl last started on 9 November against Freiburg to help make this the oldest Leipzig starting XI in their Bundesliga history (28.0 years on average).

Bit more on the Frankfurt team

Oliver Glasner makes three changes to the side that faced Napoli in midweek. Hasebe, Smolcic, Knauff and Rode all come in for Jakic, Ndicka, Buta (all on the bench) and Götze, who is absent from a Bundesliga starting line-up for the first time this season - same for Ndicka.

More on those teams

Kolo Muani (pictured) is indeed fit enough to start in attack for Die Adler, who welcome Hrvoje Smolcic into their back-three. As for Leipzig, Nkunku only makes the bench and it's Halstenberg who is preferred at left-back, while Yussuf Poulsen leads the line.

Early team news

Other than Nkunku's availability, Leipzig have no new injury concerns but we could see David Raum return at left-back in place of Marcel Halstenberg. As for Eintracht, there was concern over their own talismanic French forward, but Kolo Muani has been passed fit after injuring himself in a tackle that also saw him sent-off in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

"Will we see you in action today, Christopher?"

Rose has once again been able to call on the services of club top scorer Nkunku, with cameos in each of their last two outings but it's yet to be seen whether he will start today. Safe to say that everyone bar Eintracht will be hoping the Frenchman features today.

Watch: Frankfurt hammer Leipzig on MD5

So much has changed since these two teams met on Matchday 5 of the current campaign - a game dominated from start to finish by Die Adler.

Goals for the good books

Kolo Muani didn't help Frankfurt's cause in the Champions League tie with a second-half red card. Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner is still delighted with his prolific lead scorer though, saying with a wink: "Two goals in Leipzig and everything will be forgotten. He doesn't have to change anything."

Kolo Muani tonic?

Both sides had injury doubts hovering over their star strikers ahead of the tie. Christopher Nkunku may not yet be ready for his first start after injury, but Randal Kolo Muani should be fine for Frankfurt after suffering a minor injury in their Champions League defeat against Napoli.

Pensive Rose

Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has urged his side to focus on their own strengths in the tie, saying: "It’s important that we stay concerned with ourselves. We have our own objectives. Tomorrow’s result won’t decide the outcome of anything. We have to perform over the long term and we need good performances and a good atmosphere in the team. Regardless of how tomorrow’s game ends, we have to carry on. But of course, we want to keep the three points in Leipzig."

Winning again

A 3-0 win in Wolfsburg marked a superb response to Leipzig losing for the first time in 13 Bundesliga games the previous weekend (v Union Berlin).

No rest for RB

Fresh from pushing Manchester City all the way in a 1-1 draw in the Champions League on Wednesday, Leipzig host another side still in the competition - and Bundesliga top six - in Frankfurt. Both sides will be eager for points with the title race and scramble for Champions League qualification spots heating up!
