Wolves boss Niko Kovac was full of praise for the visitors this week, saying Union are an example that others should follow. "Against Union it is very difficult to create chances, and you can't make any mistakes against them, because once they're in front, it's difficult to win against Union," said the Croatian. "Their development is definitely a pointer to everyone else what you can achieve with good, hard work."

Fischer sweating the small stuff

Speaking to media in the build-up to today's game, Union supremo Urs Fischer said he expects a tough game against the Wolves and that it could be settled by the finest of margins. "Games in Wolfsburg are always tough ones, in which small things make the difference," he said. "VfL are a very strong team that likes to put pressure upon their opponents... That's why I'm expecting a tough game against a good team."
