Wirtz and Musiala

B04 will be hoping the Florian Wirtz effect will be in full flow this evening, with the Werkself's attacking pearl helping his side to pick up nine points from the four games he has started this term. Jamal Musiala, meanwhile, could provide Bayern with an impact from the bench. The 20-year-old was only absent from the starting XI once in the previous 14 Matchdays.

Bayern team news

Nagelsmann: "My players are smart"

With four players one booking away from suspension, visiting coach Julian Nagelsmann told media that he trusts his team to not doing anything that may result in a ban, with Borussia Dortmund waiting after the international break. He said: "It's about beating Leverkusen. I'll bring the players in best form, whether they're going to be suspended or not. You can't always avoid a yellow card. But my players are smart enough"

Watch: Previous meeting: Bayern 4-0 Leverkusen

Three first-half goals from Bayern left Leverkusen no chance in what proved to be Gerardo Seoane's final Bundesliga game in charge of the club.

Sunday funday

Bayern have won all five of their Bundesliga fixtures played on Sundays so far in 2022/23.

Familiar face

Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso made 79 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern between 2014 and 2017, winning the league title three times and the DFB Cup once.

Big improvement

Leverkusen only won nine points from their first 12 Bundesliga games this season. In the subsequent 12 matches since then, however, they have collected 25 points - almost as many as Bayern's 27.
