It's all over!
Moukoko wins it for Dortmund! How important could that strike be in the title race? Union looked to be on course to snatch an unlikely draw, but the 18-year-old squeezed in a deserved winner for the hosts!

Moukoko drought over
The youngest player ever to reach 50 Bundesliga appearances, doing so today at the age of 18 years and 193 days, Moukoko's goal was his first since 5 November 2022.
85'
Changes abound
Union make two attacking changes as they look to snatch something from the closing stages. Dortmund do the opposite, taking off the more attack-minded Brandt for the defensive shield of Özcan.

Dortmund lead again!
A Dortmund attack appears to have petered out as Reus loses possession on the edge of the area, but Moukoko pounces on the loose ball, goes around Rönnow and squeezes in the shot from a tight angle!
78'
Chance for Reus!
He's only just come on the pitch but he darts into the box down the right. He seems to get caught in two minds between shooting and crossing and the ball rolls across the face of the goal - it just needed a touch to go in!

Edin Teric wants the win and brings on Marco Reus and Youssoufa Moukoko in a bid to force another goal.

Union intense
The visitors are trying to find a way back into this game. Behrens and Becker both go into the referee's notebook for overzealous fouls, but coach Fischer will be pleased with their desire.

...Nothing doing
Guerreiro curls in the free-kick but it's headed clear by the first defender.

Haller fouled
Haller does well to hold up a ball from Guerreiro, before being wrestled to the ground. It's given Dortmund a free-kick in a very promising position, about 25 yards out, left of centre...

Nice from Haller
The striker back-heels a ball into Brandt's path but the midfielder's touch is a tad heavy as he tries to sprint clear of the defence, and Union clear.

Advantage BVB at the break
After a promising start from Union, Dortmund have grown into the game and look in complete control. Malen’s goal is the difference between the sides at the interval but you wouldn’t want to write Union off just yet.

Haller has a go
Malen bends a cross into the box from the right. Haller beats Knoche to it and directs a header at goal, but it's a comfortable save from Rönnow.

Over from Guerreiro
Brandt switches play brilliantly with a diagonal ball to Adeyemi, who slots it into Guerreiro's path on the left. There's nobody in the box to aim for so the Portugal international shoots, but narrowly misses the near post.

Dortmund lead!
Guerreiro curls a teasing cross from the left across the face of goal towards the back post. Malen gets there ahead of his marker and sticks out a leg to prod it home from close range!

No way through
Ryerson does well down the right to make headway before pulling the ball into the middle. Can clips a cross into the box but it's headed away. BVB recycle possession and float another cross in, but the Union defence can deal with those kinds of ball all day.

The Dortmund attacker's pace again gets him into a good position, this time down the right. He darts into the box and goes past Jaeckel before tumbling... only to see a yellow card for simulation.

Cross cut out
Adeyemi's pace gives him a little space to work in down the left. His low cross into the box is looking for Haller but it's easily dealt with by the visiting defence.

Hummels heads over
Guerreiro whips in a corner from the left in what is Dortmund's first foray into the Union half. Hummels rises highest but can't direct his header on target.

Union almost in
Becker threads a ball through to Behrens, who goes around Kobel and is tripped. No penalty though, as Behrens was offside. Still, it's a warning for the hosts, who are being forced onto the back foot early doors.

Early yellow
Süle goes into the book inside the first minute for bundling Becker over needlessly. Given Union's strength at set-pieces Dortmund won't want to give away too many free-kicks in their own half.

Made in BVB vs Union
"Play to our limits"
"This will be a very difficult task for us where we absolutely have to play to our limits and need a top performance." So said Union boss Urs Fischer ahead of today's Super Saturday encounter. The coach also referred to BVB's strengths, saying, "They get into the spaces between their opponents lines well [and are] always provoking mistakes. They always give everything, put in a lot of effort and their switching game is also one of their strong points"

Kobel vs. Rønnow
"Tweak in order to learn"
Following an incredible run of ten straight wins at the start of 2023, BVB are nursing their wounds somewhat following three defeats in five in all competitions. "We deal with each other openly, honestly and critically," coach Edin Terzic said of the current situation. "We'll take another look at some things we urgently need to change and tweak in order to learn from them and to show a different side to ourselves," he added.
