Full time: Bochum 3-2 Augsburg

Bochum get their first win in seven at a vital time to give them renewed hope of avoiding the drop. Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Arne Maier traded first-half strikes. A wild second half then saw Jeffrey Gouweleeuw turn the ball into his own net to restore Bochum's lead before Anthony Losilla's long-range effort was deflected in off Elvis Rexhbecaj soon afterwards. A late Kelvin Yeboah strike made for a tense finale, but Bochum saw the narrow lead through to seal the precious three points.

Bochum: personnel

Thomas Letsch has a near clean bill of health in the Bochum squad ahead of the crunch encounter. Key midfielder Kevin Stöger is set to return after missing last week's loss to Gladbach with illness. Förster, Schlotterbeck and Kunde are competing for a single spot in central midfield with Patrick Osterhage out injured.

Bochum: form

It is no win in six for Bochum in a run that has dragged them back into an automatic relegation spot. A win against Augsburg would therefore be vital to their survival chances!

Augsburg: personnel

Augsburg have a few concerns to contend with. Ruben Vargas is out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury while Arne Engels is suspended. On the plus side, club top scorer Mergim Berisha returned from injury to make a late cameo appearance against Union Berlin and should be ready to partner Beljo in attack from the start. Iago and Rafal Gikiewicz are among several Augsburg players working on injury comebacks but not expected to feature this weekend.

Augsburg: form

Augsburg's 1-0 victory over Union Berlin was their first success in eight Bundesliga ties. The three points helped them to keep clear of the relegation quagmire, and a win in Bochum could ensure survival (depending on Schalke and Stuttgart's results).

Gloomy result at Gladbach

After their battling 1-1 draw with Dortmund the previous game week, a 2-0 defeat away at Gladbach dealt a blow in Bochum's survival bid.

1-0 to the Augsburg!

All nine of Augsburg's wins this season have come with a single goal's difference. Their latest came last weekend with a 1-0 victory over top four hopefuls Union Berlin.

Hofmann hunting goals

Philipp Hofmann is Bochum's top scorer with eight strikes this season, but he has scored just once in the past 12 matches. He went close last weekend, rattling the crossbar away at Gladbach.

Used to pressure

Bochum are the Bundesliga side to have faced the most shots from the opposition this season (488). Augsburg have faced the second most (478).

Barren Bochum spell

Bochum have won just one of their past six home Bundesliga matches.

Beljo boost

Dion Beljo has scored twice in the last three matches. Augsburg are yet to lose on the three occasions in total the Croat has scored.

Not the biggest pass masters

Augsburg and Bochum have the two lowest pass completion rates in the Bundesliga.

Augsburg away blues

Augsburg have gone 11 Bundesliga away matches without a win. Only once in their history have they had a longer spell without success on the road.
