The in-form Phillip Tietz netted his third of the campaign to help Augsburg bag a point, although it could have been so much more for recently appointed coach Jess Thorup.

Baumgart's view on Augsburg

"Augsburg have a clear game plan; they press high and aggressively. They like to win the second balls, throw themselves into the challenges and make runs from deep. They work hard for every goal. They've been able to bring about a new mentality very quickly. That's enabled them to make better use of their playing ability."

Thorup's view on Cologne

“I showed the squad a bit about Cologne today. But as I also said last week, our focus all week has just been on us. What can we improve now defensively? But also, how can we do more in our build-up play, how can we create more chances, more goals? We focused only on ourselves. I only showed five minutes of Cologne today, otherwise we focused only on ourselves. It's not about whether they're last or first, or how many games they've won or lost. For me, it's about how we perform on the pitch. We shouldn't look at the table now. We should try to take a step forward again. And of course everyone and all of us are hoping for another win at Köln and we believe in it."
