Watch: Forsberg's emotional farewell after final RB Leipzig home game

camera-photo

Full-time: Leipzig 3-1 Hoffenheim

A wry smile from Forsberg as he sticks away Šeško's square ball with the last kick of the game, but he knew his teammate was offside in the build-up. Leipzig move six points clear of fifth-placed Dortmund and into third, overnight at least. Hoffenheim stay sixth, but could slip to eighth depending on results on Sunday.

It's not been Xavi's day - or Openda's for that matter, though the latter did set up Forsberg's goal for 2-1. Šeško, who scored against Young Boys in midweek, and Carvalho are on.

Over!

Kramarić lifts the resultant free-kick over the crossbar. It was right on the edge of the area - very difficult to get the ball up and down from there.

Baumgartner again!

Baumgartner has made a really lively start against his former club. He gets away from Vogt on the right-hand side, before forcing Baumann into a diving save with a fierce shot towards the near post.

Xavi whips in a corner to the front post, where Poulsen rises highest to head just past the upright. What a start that would have been!

A club legend

There is talk in the German press that this could be Emil Forsberg's final game at the Red Bull Arena as a Leipzig player. The Swede has been a fantastic servant over the years, having made the switch from Malmo in 2015, when Die Roten Bullen were still in Bundesliga 2. He's since turned out 323 times in all competitions, including 195 in the Bundesliga, producing 70 goals and 68 assists.

Rose's view on Hoffenheim

"They work very hard out of possession and have really good players. Andrej Kramarić is in outstanding form, Maximilian Beier is wreaking havoc up front. They're a really good team who are rightfully in sixth place. Tomorrow we need a performance and have to defend against their force and power. We're again expecting a lot we have to deal with."
camera-photo

Matarazzo's view on Leipzig

"In Leipzig, first and foremost, it has to be an energetic performance. I don't really have to tell you that Leipzig are a top side, with a deep squad, a good playing style and dangerous in all areas. For us, that means we have to be focused over 90 minutes, in all areas of the pitch. If we couple that with lots of energy, we'll be able to win. We always want the most, we never hide, no matter the opponent. We also never underestimate any opponent. I think that is the Bundesliga, it's a balanced league where everyone can beat everyone. So we go into it with full confidence."
