Watch: Edin Terzic unhappy with result

Same, same
As was the case in April, these two teams share two goals between them and take a point. Bochum's season is up and running after a crushing defeat to Stuttgart last weekend, while Dortmund will probably be unhappy with just a point from this trip, though on the balance of play, they can actually count themselves quite fortunate to have got even that.

Too little, too late
Bynoe-Gittens gets into a dangerous position, but his shot is into the side-netting - too little, too late for Dortmund.

Post struck again!
Osterhage's shot takes a deflection and the fingertips of Kobel take the ball against the right-hand post. Bochum have found their second wind and are pushing for a winner.

Double change
In a bid to prevent this game from ending 1-1 like it did in April, Dortmund coach Edin Terzic is poised to take a final attacking throw of the dice with Bynoe-Gittens and Moukoko coming on for the final 10 minutes.

Bero blazes over
That would have been a fine way to make your Bundesliga entrance, but Bero's effort flies just over the crossbar.
69'
Kobel to the rescue
That was another remarkable save from Kobel! Stöger's shot takes a deflection and appears to be looping into the top corner, but the Swiss custodian stretches every sinew to touch the ball over the crossbar.

Nmecha again!
That's three shots in a matter of minutes for Nmecha, whose latest shot grazes the outside of the post. Dortmund are certainly in the ascendency now.

Transformed
That goal has transformed Dortmund, who now have a spring in their step. Nmecha meets a cross and turns it just wide.

Malen levels!
The first chance of the second half for Dortmund, and it's the equaliser! Julian Brandt lays the ball off 25 yards from goal and Malen picks his spot, low into the bottom left-hand corner.

Wittek limps off
An enforced change for Bochum early in this second half, with a limping Wittek leaving and being replaced by Danilo Soares, the man whose position he has taken recently.

Reason for Dortmund to be hopeful: number 2
No team scored more second-half goals in the Bundesliga last season than Dortmund's 40.

Reason for Dortmund to be hopeful: number 1
Dortmund have scored at least one goal in each of their past 21 Bundesliga games.

Terzic's test
Bochum are good value for their half-time lead, and could arguably have been more goals to the good. It's up to Dortmund coach Edin Terzic now to find the right words to get Dortmund firing on more cylinders in the second half.

Dortmund will probably be happy to hear the half-time whistle, the way things are going. Passlack has Bochum's next opportunity, but he scuffs his shot wide.

Close to a second again for Dortmund, with Hofmann's glancing header striking the top of the crossbar!

Stöger first again
Stöger scored Bochum’s first goal in the Bundesliga last season, in a 2-1 defeat to Mainz, and he’s opened his team’s account once again this term!
13'
Bochum lead!
A rocket from Stöger puts Bochum in front! It was a simple build-up starting from Riemann's punt which was laid off by Wittek, and I don't think anybody expected Stöger to strike from such a tight angle, but he's fired it into the far corner!

Anything you can do...
Not wanting to be out-done, Kobel makes a remarkable save from Hofmann. The two keepers are being kept busy!
7'
Great save from Riemann
A fine stop from Riemann, low down to his left to turn a Haller header away, and the Bochum custodian hears his name chanted out by the home fans in recognition of his heroics.

First shot for Brandt
An early chance for Brandt, who races in at the near post and turns an effort into the side-netting.

Derby time!
The teams emerge for the Ruhrderby which, given Schalke's relegation to Bundesliga 2 last term, is THE Ruhrderby this season.
Anthem time
The Bochum fans are in good voice as their anthem is played. It's a hot and sunny day in the Revier, and it is about to get even hotter!

Lucky 7?
Seven may be a lucky number to some, so what can be made of there being seven Bochum players in the starting XI today who also started the 1-1 draw back in April?

Bad memories
Dortmund will not want to think back to their last trip to Bochum. The 1-1 draw on Matchday 30 saw them lose top spot to Bayern with four games to go. Though they did return to the summit until the final moments of the final day of the season, it will nevertheless be remembered as an opportunity wasted.

After you...
Bochum's backs to the wall
It has not been the start to the season Bochum would have wished for. Eliminated from the DFB Cup by 3. Liga's Arminia Bielefeld, Thomas Letsch's team fell to a chastening 5-0 defeat to VfB Stuttgart on Bundesliga Matchday 1 - hardly the run of results to spark confidence ahead of meeting last season's runners-up, but then this is a derby!
One in 11
While their head coach has yet to taste victory over Dortmund, Bochum have only experienced that once in the last 11 meetings - in 2021/22. The last two games at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion have ended 1-1, though.
Birthday boy
Can Thomas Letsch celebrate his birthday today with a gift he has never had before - a win over Borussia Dortmund. He has faced them three times as a coach, drawing last time out in April, but losing 2-1 and 3-0 in his previous two meetings.

Dortmund the form team
Edin Terzic's side are nine games unbeaten in the league (W6, D3) – the best current run in the Bundesliga – and have earned a division-best 49 of a possible 60 points in 2023 (W15, D4, L1). Good luck breaking the streak, Bochum!

'Little Revierderby'
Two Ruhr district clubs, only 15 miles apart, there's added spice to the occasion. It's not the Revierderby - that tag's reserved for meetings between Dortmund and relegated Schalke - but it's still a derby. So that means local bragging rights are very much up for grabs!
