There was plenty of hope this match would be a cracker and the opening 45 minutes certainly didn't disappoint. An end-to-end affair was punctured by a sublime Jadon Sancho opener but BVB's lead lasted just three minutes before Openda found the net and Sesko later doubled it. There's individual battles all over the pitch and so far Leipzig are winning them, who knows what will happen after the break...

Advantage Leipzig?
Die Roten Bullen have won five of their last six competitive meetings with Dortmund; however, BVB have finished above Leipzig in five of the last seven seasons.
High stakes
... although potentially not as high as previously thought. Usually it's only the top four teams that earn a place in the UEFA Champions League, but given that the tournament is expanding its format next season - and thanks to Bayern, Dortmund and Leverkusen enjoying deep runs in European competition this term - Germany are on course to secure a fifth Champions League spot thanks to their UEFA coefficient ranking. As it stands, that would mean both of these teams will make the Champions League - with sixth-placed Frankfurt 12 points further back.
