Full time! Hoffenheim 1-1 Leipzig

Hoffenheim get a point they fully deserve, with Kramarić levelling very late to cancel out Šeško's opener. Xavi's sending off for two bookable offences proved costly for Leipzig, but they could yet finish third, with two games to go. Hoffenheim face Darmstadt and Bayern before the season is out, with maximum points surely a must if they're to have any chance of playing in Europe next term.

Half-time! Hoffenheim 0-1 Leipzig

Šeško's 12th Bundesliga goal of the season is the difference between the sides at the break. Leipzig had earlier chances through Openda and Xavi, but Hoffenheim have created decent openings of their own.

Šeško's a good 16 yards from goal as he tries to steer a Haidara cross past Baumann with his head. It's the right idea, but the ball drifts wide of the far post. Still, that's a sign of a player high on confidence. The Leipzig striker has scored in each of his last four games...

Watch: Your Bundesliga Team of the Season!

TSG still in the hunt

Hoffenheim begin the weekend a point behind seventh. Whichever team takes that spot will contest a Europa Conference League play-off.

Champions League football in the bag

Dortmund's win over PSG in midweek means the Bundesliga will have at least five teams in next season's Champions League, instead of the usual four. The quintet is already set in stone, Leipzig included!

More on those teams

Matarazzo makes four changes to the side that started the 3-2 loss in Bochum. Akpoguma, Bülter, Stach and Bebou come in, with Drexler, Skov (both benched) Tohumcu (suspended) and Weghorst (personal reasons) making way. Henrichs replaces Simakan for Leipzig, meanwhile, in the only change to the Dortmund win.

Hoffenheim starting XI

Baumann (c) - Kabak, Grillitsch, Akpoguma - Kadeřábek, Prömel, Stach, Bebou - Kramarić - Bülter, Beier

Hoffenheim subs

Philipp, Jurásek, Becker, Brooks, Skov, Conte, Drexler, Bischof, Moerstedt

Leipzig starting XI

Gulácsi - Henrichs, Orbán (c), Castello, Raum - Olmo, Haidara, Schlager, Xavi - Šeško, Openda

Leipzig subs

Blaswich, Zingerle, Simakan, Bitshiabu, Poulsen, Seiwald, Baumgartner, Klostermann, Kampl

Matarazzo's view ahead of Leipzig

"We know the task at hand. We understand Leipzig's strengths. It's always special on a Friday evening, especially at home. We want to keep going after two home wins. It's not easy against Leipzig. They're dangerous in all phases of their game, also allow very few opposition shots. But we see chances to hurt Leipzig."
camera-photo

Rose's view ahead of Hoffenheim

"A lot of attacking power with good movement, but we'll still definitely be able to recognise problem areas where we'll get our chances. I don't want to see and won't tolerate any complacency. We want to finish the Bundesliga season as well as we can."

Watch: Bochum 3-2 Hoffenheim - highlights

Hoffenheim's hopes of playing European football next season took a hit in Bochum. Despite what Andrej Kramarić's two-goal salvo might suggest, they were comfortably second best on the night. Sixth place is probably beyond them and the chasing pack, but seventh could well be enough for Europa Conference League qualification. Ninth at the start of the week, TSG are only a point off the pace.
