Full-time: Freiburg 1-1 Heidenheim
It was not to be a fairy tale farewell for Christian Streich in his last home game in charge of Freiburg, though he will leave proud not only of what his team did today, but what they have done throughout his record-breaking tenure. Doan’s early goal was cancelled out by Sessa, but it was all Freiburg in the second half, with the woodwork hit twice and Müller’s heroics denying Gregoritsch. The point nevertheless takes Freiburg closer to renewed European qualification, the cherry on top of a remarkable managerial career.

A Höler of an entrance
Almost a perfect first touch from substitute Höler, who heads just inches wide of the post. That would have been quite an entrance!

Crossbar!
It's not Gregoritsch's day, and it's not looking like Freiburg's day either. He rifles an effort against the crossbar - the second time the hosts have hit the woodwork in this second half.

Post!
Freiburg so close to taking the lead again, with Gulde's header hitting the post and Gregoritsch's effort on the rebound hits Müller just below his chin! Just a few inches either side and Freiburg would have been back in front.

Acrobatic attempt
Höfler's overhead kick is blocked by a Heidenheim defender, and the home team are claiming a penalty - VAR has had a look, but no penalty is given.

Half-time: Freiburg 1-1 Heidenheim
Freiburg were on course for a perfect home send-off for Streich when Doan headed them in front, but Sessa's spoiled the party and Heidenheim even had chances to take the lead, improving as the game progressed. Streich's last team talk in the Europa-Park Stadion home dressing room will be one in which he has to build up his team's confidence again.
