Full-time: Darmstadt 4-2 Bremen

Die Lilien pick up their first win of the season with a strong display against Bremen! First-half goals from Bader and Skarke put Darmstadt firmly in the ascendancy, and after the break, Mehlem and Kempe - the latter from the penalty spot - gave their side an unassailable lead. Deman and Veljković reduced the deficit to give Bremen hope, but it was too little too late.

Huge chance for Kownacki

The striker gets on the end on Njinmah's lobbed pass, but his header is straight at Schuhen. He really should have done better there!

Honsak misses the target!

Darmstadt break quickly, but Honsak can only find the side netting with his effort.

Bader volleys wide

A speculative attempt from the goalscorer goes off target.

Now then!

A second for Bremen, and maybe this isn't over just yet! Some lovely build-up play released Duscksch in the area, and his pass across the face of goal is tapped home by Veljković.

Bremen pull one back

Weiser's brilliant cross finds Deman at the back post, and he bullets a header into the corner for his first Bundesliga goal. Still a long way back for Die Werderaner, but they are at least on the board now.

Darmstadt team news

Defender Matej Maglica is set to go straight back into the starting line-up after missing the Stuttgart loss through suspension. Matthias Honsak was preferred to Tobias Kempe in that game, and is expected to retain his place in midfield. Fabian Nürnberger is a doubt because of illness.

Bremen team news

Ole Werner has been talking up Frankfurt loanee Rafael Borré after the Colombian marked his first start for the club with a goal against Cologne. "He does Niclas Füllkrug's job to some extent," he said, referencing last season's joint top scorer, now of Borussia Dortmund. Strike partner Marvin Ducksch's ears were also burning, with the Werder boss praising his general game and understanding. That suggests the impressive Justin Njinmah will be among the subs once more. Summer signing Naby Keïta can also expect more minutes after making his long-awaited debut last time out, following injury.

Hope for Darmstadt

The Lilies have picked up more points in Bundesliga meetings with Bremen than any team they've faced (10), avoiding defeat in all four fixtures on home soil (W2, D2). Will that positive run continue?
