Full-time: Union 0-3 Stuttgart

Serhou Guirassy's 14th Bundesliga goal of the season helped surprise top-four candidates VfB Stuttgart to a comfortable win at struggling Union Berlin. The Guinean scored early in the first half, before being forced off with a suspected thigh injury. Jamie Leweling had the chance to add a second on the hour, but Frederik Rönnow made a superb block. Late goals from substitutes Silas and Deniz Undav added the gloss, as VfB inflicted a sixth successive Bundesliga defeat on last season's fourth-placed club.

Guirassy's 14th goal of the season

But how serious is that injury?
30'

Guirassy injured

Massive blow for Stuttgart as Guirassy is forced off with what looks like a thigh injury. He tried to run it off after contesting an earlier challenge with Tousart, but VfB are taking no risks. Also a blow for those Fantasy Managers, who gave him the star treatment...

Fischer's view on Stuttgart

“You can definitely say they’re in form. Really solid, really compact. They have a clear plan, constantly try to stress the opponent, run at them high up the pitch. They move really well in the half-spaces, really pressure you there. When they can get going, they have players with pace who look for one-v-ones. We need to prevent that.”

Hoeneß's view on Union

“It’ll be challenging enough because Union are very tough to play against. It wasn’t too long ago that they had an incredible unbeaten run at home. That underlines, with the fans behind them at home, how tough they can be to face. We’re looking forward to the game because it’s a nice game given the venue and we want to get on a run again after the international break. We have a big intentions there.”

Joint message for peace

The DFL has recommended a minute's silence in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 to remember all innocent victims and their relatives after the devastating events in the Middle East. With this joint effort, the DFL and DFB would like to send a common message from German football for peace. Football is a sport that brings people together, which is why we all stand up for peaceful coexistence, respect and tolerance. A fortnight ago, the terrorist attack by Hamas on the people of Israel and the State of Israel began. The DFL is shocked by this terrible attack and the events in the region.
