Two defenders on for Darmstadt. It's been backs against the wall for them since the restart. The promoted club don't want their goal difference to take a hammering, if they can avoid it.

Musiala gets his goal!
Very smart from Bayern. Darmstadt have five men in the wall as Kane sizes up a free-kick. Instead, though, he rolls it to his right for Musiala to squeeze an unerring effort into the bottom corner.

Coman!
Darmstadt try to play offside as a ball is sent through the middle. Sané lets it run for Coman, who is onside. The Frenchman is one-on-one with Schuhen, but it's on his weaker left side and his shot finds the side netting.

Chance!
Free header for De Ligt as he meets a Sané free-kick, but the defender sends his effort straight at Schuhen. He usually buries those!

Big decision!
Bayern cut Darmstadt apart on the counter. Laimer skips past Gjasula, who is booked for tripping the Bayern man. The referee initially awards a penalty, before reviewing the situation. It turns out the challenge was outside the box, but Darmstadt are now down to 10 men. As with the Kimmich incident, it was a clear denial of a goal-scoring chance.

The Darmstadt goalkeeper does really well to beat away an effort from Davies at his near post. Kane catches Sané's corner-kick delivery on the volley, with the Darmstadt reacting brilliantly once more.

KaneSanéty
Kane showcases his playmaking abilities by dropping into the Bayern half, rolling his marker and chipping a dangerous pass through for Sané. Schuhen races out to clear, though. Those two are developing a fabulous understanding.
7'
Chances!
The ensuing free-kick is half cleared, before a shot is fired in at Neuer for a routine save. Bayern go up the other end with Sané, who cuts in off the right and forces a sprawling stop out of Schuhen with a shot that was arrowing towards the bottom corner.
5'
Kimmich sent off!
The plot thickens! Neuer plays Kimmich into danger with a loose pass. Mehlem picks it off and drive goalwards, before being upended by the Bayern midfielder. That's the denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity - no complaints from him.

Teams out
Neuer leads out Bayern. He hasn't played for some 350 days. All eyes on conceivably the game's greatest ever goalkeeper today...
Goal brokers
Bayern have scored at least twice in all eight of their Bundesliga matches so far this term, and in 12 of their last 13 overall. Indeed, the defending champions boast the highest goals-per-game average among all teams in Europe's top five leagues (3.3) in 2023/24.

Top spot up for grabs
It's the first time in history that each of the Bundesliga's top four has at least 20 points after eight matches. Bayern can move top today - for 24 hours at least - but only if they win and second-placed Stuttgart don't beat Hoffenheim, or they draw and VfB lose. Dortmund - level on points with Bayern at the start of play - take on Frankfurt tomorrow. Leaders Leverkusen are at home to Freiburg in the final fixture of Matchday 9.
Expect goals!
Bayern have scored at least once in each of their last 61 Bundesliga fixtures at the Allianz Arena. Their 64-game scoring home streak of 1970 to 1974 is the record. Darmstadt's run of 25 Bundesliga outings without a clean sheet, meanwhile, is currently the longest of any club.
Tuchel praises Neuer
"I can feel his excitement and his class," Tuchel said when comfirming Neuer's comeback at his pre-match press conference on Friday. "He’s enjoying it right now and can be proud of himself. His comeback is very impressive. I’m confident he’ll quickly get back into top shape."

Will we see Neuer?
Of course the first thing Tuchel was asked at his pre-match press conference on Friday, and the answer was yes. "As long as nothing happens today, he'll play tomorrow. He's excited, we're excited. There's probably a lot of other people excited about it too," the coach said of the impending return of Bayern's captain.
