Full-time: Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-1 Dortmund

A fiercely contested affair ends all square, it what is a fair result for both teams. While Dortmund perhaps had more chances, they lacked control of the game throughout and conceded plenty of chances themselves in the second-half. Both teams battled hard, and walk away with a point each.

More on those teams

Gladbach welcome Nico Elvedi back in to the starting XI after a two-month injury absence (thigh), with the only other change from the side that lost in Freiburg last time out coming in the form of midfielder Kevin Stöger, who replaces Robin Hack after a string of substitute appearances in recent weeks. Meanwhile there's just one change from the Dortmund side that drew 1-1 in Der Klassiker against Bayern last weekend, with a fit-again Niklas Süle (ankle) replacing the injured Waldemar Anton (torn muscle fibre) in a first Bundesliga appearance since Matchday 4.

Gladbach starting XI

Nicolas - Scally, Elvedi, Itakura, Ullrich - Reitz, Weigl (c) - Honorat, Pléa, Stöger – Kleindienst

Dortmund starting XI

Kobel - Ryerson, Süle, Schlotterbeck (c), Bensebaini - Sabitzer, Groß, Nmecha - Beier, Gittens – Guirassy

Some good news for Dortmund

Şahin should be able to count on vice-captain Julian Brandt for the trip to Gladbach, the playmaker having recovered from the muscular issue that kept him out of Der Klassiker, while Julian Ryerson and Donyell Malen have both recovered from illness and even Karim Adeyemi - out since mid-September (muscular issue) - is a chance to make the squad. Meanwhile, Germany stopper Waldemar Anton is out (torn muscle fibre), with his place in the centre of defence to be filled by either Emre Can or Niklas Süle.

Gerardo Seoane on facing Dortmund

"We know how dominant Dortmund have been at home, but they've struggled to repeat that away. Playing in front of our fans is what provides us with extra motivation, not the name of our opponents."

Nuri Şahin on facing Gladbach

"The match on Saturday is very important for us. We want to end our inconsistency and get a win against Gladbach."
